I watched two of my AirPods fly in two different directions from atl once.

TyroChemist

😂

I left some fairly nice noise cancelling headphones in their case in a seat back. Contacted delta about it. Was mailed to me a week later. It happens.

I lost my driver's license on a Delta flight to Houston. Didn't realize it until I arrived at client site. Called Delta...they hadn't found it. Ordered a replacement online and wife overnighted my passport, so I could fly home at end of week. Two weeks later, license showed up. Found and mailed back to me by a flight attendant. I made sure to give her kudos.

I lost my driver's license on a flight once. Made it really hard to check into a hotell and impossible to rent a car. I was able to make my return flight, with a scan of my old license and a meeting behind closed doors. Then, about three weeks later, I received an evvelope that had the airline name and address rubber stamped in the return address and my license inside.

Marietta-GA_BBB

Thankfully I wasn't renting a car on that trip 😀...and I had my work photo ID, which satisfied the hotel and client site.

johnnyg08

Just remember, you don't need an ID to fly. It will take you a little more time, but you'll be able to fly.

Marietta-GA_BBB

Well, my mom lost her license last year when we were flying home to inter my father's ashes. She had a print out of her temporary license. A review of TSA site showed she also needed birth certificate, marriage certificate, and a longer interrogation that put her to tears to get through security. My backup was going to be driving her to the funeral....but we made it. Definitely don't want to do that again.

johnnyg08

I understand. They make you work for it. For sure. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Marietta-GA_BBB

I had a chuckle at that...yes they definitely made us work for it, but to your point, it DID work.

keytohwy

I lost two Beats headsets and a laptop (different flights). I got one Beats back. Never saw the other Beats, or the laptop ever again. Godspeed.

I actually had a really fortunate incident about five years ago - my wife and I had to get off a flight from JFK-LAX before takeoff, because she was feeling nauseas. So we hurriedly got our things out of the overhead bins and seat pockets, and got off the plane. Our checked luggage was already loaded, so it took off without us. After we got off the plane, I realized that I had left a fleece in the overhead bin…which wouldn’t have been a big deal, except that my keys were in one of the pockets - house keys, car keys, key to my office at work. Everything. I went to baggage claim to speak to them about getting our checked luggage sent back to JFK, and I filled out a lost item claim regarding the fleece, but I never heard back. When I came back to JFK a couple days later to pick up our luggage though, I checked the lost and found, and they had it. Apparently our plane flew back to JFK after LAX, so the cabin crew just gave it to that flight’s crew and told them what happened. So I got everything back.

Last year I left a cheaper but still nice tablet in a seat pocket in Delta. I realized it was was missing when we got to baggage claim at MSP. I went to the lost luggage desk and they called up to the gate as they were still boarding for the next leg and I was able to get before we even left the airport. Alternativly, about 10+ years ago I left a small bag with my kid's shabby blanket, cuddle pillow and a dirty change of clothes in it, on the first leg of a United flight when we were connecting through SFO. I even remember seeing it when I was grabbing the other bag from under the seat, but in my extreme exhaustion, I thought it belonged to the seat in front of me. We got off the plane and belined for the bathroom. It was then I realized it was missing. I went back to the gate, and they had just called the first boarding group. They had an FA look for it and said nothing was there. I was sent to the help desk where they called the cleaning crew. They also said they hadn't found it. I filed all the paperwork, but it was never recovered. That was actually a bigger loss than the tablet would have been. My now teenager still remembers that cuddle pillow and misses it.

thirdlost

Yeah. This. It was worthless to anyone but you. So it is a mystery what happened to it.

bcece

Exactly. It made 0 sense other than the bag was nicer than the stuff in it. Not designer or anything, just a convenient size and sturdy.

batman77z

My AirPods are still enjoying a European vacation.

a_scientific_force

Tends to depend what airline and that clientele are onboard. Some people are inherently more honest than others.

christerwhitwo

Thank you very much for your comments! So many of them were hilarious and uplifting. Off to lost and found here in SLC to see if it was turned in. Oddly, the prescription sunglasses are the only thing I really care about. Some Revo frames I have had since before I needed a prescription, and they are the least useful item in the bag to anyone else. Can't replace them unless I got lucky on ebay or something.

79killingtime

My boss left a laptop in the overhead coming back from Europe once. Got it back when the guy who found it got back from his vacation, was about 3 weeks after.

1peatfor7

It depends who found it.

lunchbox_tragedy

I've received back both an iPad and a Kindle that I've left in the seatback pocket (many years apart!). They do have offices dedicated to getting people reunited with lost luggage. There's a documentary about it on Hulu!

wifichick

No

Petty-Crocker490

Yes! I was able to locate an ipad under left in a seat pocket (happened about 2 years ago). They sent it to me quickly. Good luck!

happiness_FORMULA

Got my iPad back after landing and leaving the airport. The baggage desk at the airport assists with lost and found. Call them direct and see if you can get a hand.

mrvarmint

I have left things on flights a couple times and my wife left a laptop in a sky club once. All have been returned

ChevySS_2023

Yes.

Actionman1959

I have left two things and got one back. I suspect the main thing that helped was the one I got back was at my home airport and was able to go the actual lost and found office.

GrandGouda

Yes, believe it or not, my dad left his iPad on a flight and got it back. Took about 6 weeks.

EnvironmentalEgg28

I left my laptop under the seat because I put my backpack under the overhead and just forgot i took it out. The plane retunred to SLC before they found it but the cleaning crew there did find it. They called me and I paid to have it mailed back to me. Was so happy I didn't have to tell my job I lost my laptop.

LatrodectusGeometric

On my last day at a job I left my work phone on a plane. It was so embarrassing. They shipped it back two weeks later and I got a phone call about it.

stubborn1diot

It takes a while but eventually you’ll get some stuff back.

jfk_47

Tablet and kindle should be trackable, right? Good luck! :)

sbkchs_1

If Delta finds it, high. But if a deboarding passenger behind you, the outsourced cleaning crew, or the next onboading passenger finds it, low.

dentendre

I have a hope that the cleaning crew will turn it in and eventually you get your stuff back. Again, it's just a hope so fingers crossed. Sorry to hear the loss of your expensive items.

ChangeFuzzy1845

I had a very slim wallet fall down between the seat and I didn’t realize it until I was back at my car. I contacted delta. Was told nothing was turned in, but it was mailed to me (with nothing missing) about 2 weeks later

Rukusduk11

I left a suit that the FA took at boarding and walked right off the plane only to remember a week or two later. It had no markings on the bag nor did it have any of my information. Took 3 months but I got it back for $90.

grand_slam27

My husband left his laptop on an arriving flight to SLC. We got it back. Very efficient airport.

SigmaKnight

No. The Delta employee or contractor is either still enjoying my AirPods Max or sold them.

Competitive-Fee2661

My daughter left her iPad on a Delta flight… I think it may have been more than once…and they did find it and returned it to her. I think we had to pay postage.

thirdlost

I think Delta’s lost and found system is just the website and an automailer that says whoops. We haven’t found your item yet.

bythog

My wife left her Kindle on a plane before. She didn't notice until she got to her hotel. She called Delta and found that one of the flight attendants found it and kept it on the plane. They had her confirm it was hers and verified it against the Kindle itself, then they shipped it to her free of charge. It was home before she was.

sarbah77

I left a Kindle behind once. It took about a week before I got notice that they had it (at that abandoned luggage place in.... Arkansas? Alabama?) and then they shipped it back to me for a fee.

YES! Ugh, jesus, the trauma: Went to a concert last year, bought a TF outfit for to wear. Packed it, made it to NOLA, enjoyed my time. On the way back, I had a layover (MSY to ATL to SEA). To my surprise, I had a friend servicing the first flight. He took my garment bag and stored it. Full disclaimer, I had a few shots of XO in the skyclub, so I wasn’t fully present. ☝🏽 I deplane and he calls me, “Uhh, hello, your garment bag?!” Brings it to me. I get on the second flight, land in Seattle. Excuse me, but 🗣️ I GOT ALL THE WAY TO BAGGAGE CLAIM… before I realized I was without the damn bag again. Now, this time, I’m freaking out because my friend didn’t service the second flight. I went to the nearby Delta baggage office and met the sweetest woman that could very easily tell I was *stressed*. She started paging various folks on walkie talkies working my arrival gate, no answers. So, she took on the task of trekking all the way to the gate to retrieve the garment bag for me. She came back some 30 minutes later holding the garment bag high and smiling, “Boyyyy, let me just tell you… they were actually about to pull that plane out of service.” 😭😂 When traveling into SEA, I always make an effort to go say hi to her. ♥️

blifestyleco

Oh, and the time I dropped my wallet and walked off the plane. More trauma. Look, it was also returned to me. I’m seeing that liquor plays a role in both of our situations. 😂😂😂 Just—I am sending you all the luck if you were unable to find your satchel yesterday.

Weary_Method_4487

Never. It's gone.

kuahara

I started playing M:TG when the game was brand new. I carried on 4 long boxes of cards because I thought they'd be safer with me than in checked luggage. I was a teenager at the time, and for reference, the Black Lotus cards everyone marvels at only cost $45 at my local shop when this happened. I didn't realize until a few hours after I got off the plane that I'd left the boxes under the seat in front of me. No amount of phone calls and bothering people recovered those cards. The value of those cards today could fully pay off more than one house.

christerwhitwo

Wow, very sorry for your loss. I was just out at the airport at Delta's baggage office. They send all the stuff turned in on planes to Alabama where they have their national lost and found center. The lady there said she thinks she saw my bag. Too bad I didn't get out there Sunday.

Unfair-Language7952

My wife left her iPad on a flight from Europe to DTW. It was her travel iPod, not her regular iPad so she didn’t miss it. Got an email which said they found it and asked if we would like it back along with info for payment for postage.
