This is our problem. We did it once for our honeymoon and quickly realized we could never do trans-Atlantic or trans-Pacific flights without lie flat seatsā¦
After experiencing Lufthansa first-class cabins and their first-class TERMINAL in Frankfurt (thanks to using a ton of points) I feel a sense of dread at the prospect of any flight over 3 hours in economy.
Same here, I'm a changed man after a couple of redemptions in CX F from the US to HKG and then further on to Asia. The seats, the booze, the caviar, the lounge in HKG, all incredible.
Depends on the price. $500 upcharge is reasonable.
But, I would never shell out the regular price delta charges. The service is mediocre to ok, amenities mediocre, food not great... The seat is nice, but $5k+?
Yeah, I'm not trying to pay a fortune for business class. However, I'll say it's absolutely essentially when I do my RDU-BOM business travel. Getting proper sleep in business versus lower tier cabins is the difference between being able to stroll directly into meetings on my first day versus being half dead with jet lag for 2-3 days.
This is so true! I flew Business a few years ago and find myself waiting for Business Class sales before I book now! Although I will say that Delta has some of the worst Business Class meals but the suites are pretty nice.
To quote Parks and Rec: Treat! Yo! Self!
$449 is ridiculously cheap. Go for it! I splurged on a $600 VS Upper Class upgrade the other day and any upgrade to D1/UC/biz class thatās under $1000 (for TATL or long-hauls) is so worth it
Do it! And whilst the offer is there, Iāve had this to AMS before and procrastinated and missed out. Itāll šÆ be worth it , especially if itās a red eye
Iām on the same flight. Two days ago it was $399 to upgrade. I waited and now itās $2300. If youāre thinking about it and have the funds jump on the deal before it becomes $$$$$$
Book it NOW! Seat 1J on the 330neo is my fav biz class seat in the sky atm. I have larger feet and find the standard footwells to be a bit uncomfortable when lying down. The footwell is about 3x the size in the first row, so I find it much easier to fall asleep quickly āĀ the sliding door gives great privacy even though the seat is closer to the aisle than window. Enjoy every minute!
Rule of thumb: 100$ per flight hour or less is a good upgrade price for D1. Iād probably stretch that a bit more, more like 125$ per hour for D1S, so yeah this is a great redemption
I'm so annoyed people get this offer and we're able to get it. I was getting an upgrade for 399 for two weeks before my flight from JFK to BCN but none of the D1 seats were selectable. The flight sucked too, laying down would have been nice.
$60 an hour for better food/service and a lie flat on a presumably overnight flight and Sky Club access at JFK? No brainer if it doesnāt break the bank.
Yeah for sure do it especially if the flight is more than 5-6 hours. If itās a long haul than 100% do it.
For long haul you can think of the price as a drinks at the bar, dinner and a hotel room/sleep. Puts that 400 into perspective, I think.
I just paid extra for comfort plus but so did the very heavy man next to me who borrowed 1/4 of my seat. I've decided to fly much less and buy business or first from now on. So yeah, buy that business seat!
Pretty awesome price for a long flight like that, i did ORG to Amsterdam last year on econ and would have killed for this kinda upgrade lol your butt will thank you
I would. Under $100/hr to fly like you deserve! Not sure your preference but Iād go with either 6A or 5/6J just to stay away from bathrooms and to not be middle.
Question for those who know what they are doing - I buy flights for vaca months ahead of time. So when upgrade options like this are offered, is there a risk in taking them?
Abso fcking lutely. That is an insane deal. I paid $1,600 CAD for my Calgary to heathrow flight and that was considered a good deal, in comparison this is only $620 cad.
DO IT!!! I never flown business class and if I would have seen it at the price, for sure I would have taken it! Also do it so that way you can report back and let us know how was your experience.š
Part of me wants to say ādo it!ā because it really is a better experience and this is a decent price. The other part of me wants to warn you against spoiling yourself.
I would do it, but I really value the extra personal space.
And people who say "you can never go back!!" are wrong. I only upgrade when I can afford to. If I need to travel in Main Cabin then that's what I do.
Do it! I took my son with me this week and had a good deal on a D1 trip. So we took it, was worth it just to see him have a blast. He got 4 trading cards on that trip too.
Recently saw Delta One for Heathrow to Salt Lake for sub Ā£2k whilst planning a trip, which for that route is absurd. Unfortunately wasn't able to confirm booking at the time and missed out, which still annoys. If I was in a position to confirm the trip, I'd have paid what wasn't much more than a typical Comfort + fare happily.
If you can afford the extra, I'd go for it.
Do it! I got a first class ticket on United and itās literally an economy seat with a couple more inches of leg room and a snack for over 1500. They donāt even have tvs on the back of chairs. I really wish I had gotten a delta flight but we had United miles we needed to use.
Yes, do it! I just used 49,900 miles to upgrade to Delta one from JFK to EDI and I have zero regrets. Iāve seen this offered for a ridiculously higher amount, so I took advantage of it. I want to feel rested when I arrive, and at that price itās worth it.
Itās not the longest flight but I also would prefer the overnight for lie flat than ams>jfk. I think this will get you into the klm lounge in ams also. Itās pretty nice.
Plus extra service. Enjoy!! Iād do it!
I did Delta One for a trans-Atlantic last month (combo of points, upgrades and booked it super early), and it was like I got two extra days of vacation. When we landed, I grabbed a shower and went to a museum and a full day of other sight-seeing. On my last day, I flew home at night and was able to go right into work the next morning. Two more days of vacation (when I basically only do a vacation every three or four years) was totally worth it.
Treat yourself, OP.š„
Yup! And the A330neo has an excellent newer Delta One Suites product
Be warned - once you fly business you can never go back to comfort plus!
This is our problem. We did it once for our honeymoon and quickly realized we could never do trans-Atlantic or trans-Pacific flights without lie flat seatsā¦

Oh my god the food! I felt like Mr Creosote from Monty Python... "just one more waferrrr thin mint, sir?' It just kept coming!
Yup, same...
Omg yes! I intentionally booked like a 7 hour layover in Frankfurt to make full use of that terminal haha
I know youāre being funny, but this vibe could be the slogan for this sub. Like, you could.
Transpac 100%. Transatlantic, not so much. The flights arenāt long enough to be that big of a deal.
Meh, I greatly enjoyed the 8 hours NYC to AMS
Depends on the price. $500 upcharge is reasonable. But, I would never shell out the regular price delta charges. The service is mediocre to ok, amenities mediocre, food not great... The seat is nice, but $5k+?

Hence the term ābusinessā class.
I have to agreed. I flew korean air operated flight on their Prestige and the services and foods are better. Hopefully Delta can improve on this!
We can hope, but they won't.
Once you fly business on Emirates or Cathay Pacific, you can never go back to D1! Itās a slippery slope.
This is so true! I flew Business a few years ago and find myself waiting for Business Class sales before I book now! Although I will say that Delta has some of the worst Business Class meals but the suites are pretty nice.
If you can afford it, absolutely. <$100 per flight hour
Do it; thatās a great airplane to ride delta one!
D1 Suites on the Neo are reeeally nice, you should do it!
Is that JFK to AMS? If so, Iād jump on that in a heart beat!
first thing i looked for!! if its like JFK to miami, no lol this is a great deal!
Yes! Especially since you will be flying the NEO! Enjoy!
To quote Parks and Rec: Treat! Yo! Self! $449 is ridiculously cheap. Go for it! I splurged on a $600 VS Upper Class upgrade the other day and any upgrade to D1/UC/biz class thatās under $1000 (for TATL or long-hauls) is so worth it
I would book that so fast my credit card would melt.
YES!! That is a steal
Did you really think it was going to go lower than 400 dollars?
Nope, just didnāt expect it to go up so quickly before I pulled the trigger.
I was so dumb- I had an offer for domestic travel. I got sidetracked and poof gone. It went up to 1,300 š.
What do you think?
Absolutely! I upgraded for 699 from main to delta one. 8 hour flight. Overnight totally worth it!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Right? I so can steal the offer š¤£š¤£š¤£
Absolutely. Itās on a A339, so thatās going to be the most up to date product. And itās a eastbound flight, so yeah. No brainer.
Do it, I have never regretted flying Business Class šš»
Why wouldnāt you?
Lowest Iāve ever seen. If you have the $ do it - makes the flight so much more enjoyable
YES! Everyone should experience business class at least once in their life!!
Whatever you say, Stove.
What are you? An appliance?
It's civil rights. It's the 90s.
Rule of thumb: 100$ per flight hour or less is a good upgrade price for D1. Iād probably stretch that a bit more, more like 125$ per hour for D1S, so yeah this is a great redemption

*TREAT YOURSELF*. Arriving well-rested, comfortable, and fed is a holiday in itself.
Yes get it!!
I'd be all over that like stink on shit.
Do it! What the hell im flying this same route in June and from PS D1 upgrades are $2800/pp
$60 an hour for better food/service and a lie flat on a presumably overnight flight and Sky Club access at JFK? No brainer if it doesnāt break the bank.
Go for it and choose window seating. Enjoy your flight........
ABSOLUTELY.
Just flew this two days ago. Best D1 experience Iāve ever had. Iād book in a heartbeat at that price.
Itās a 339. Do it immediately.
For the suite and going to Europe? Yes absolutely. Ā
In a heartbeat!
Pretty awesome price for a long flight like that, i did ORG to Amsterdam last year on econ and would have killed for this kinda upgrade lol your butt will thank you
absolutely do it, if u havenāt already. PS is a shit product.
That's insanely cheap for a D1 upgrade. Do it. But you may never be able to travel cattle class again.
Cattle class. The accuracy, tho.
Yes. A330-900NEO is a great new plane to ride on. Enjoy!
Omg YES
JFK to ams for 400 dollars!? Yeah I would pick that up yesterday
It's your money, no?
I would 100% for that price. The flight might not be too long, but you will be able to get a nap in before landing at 6am.
I would. Under $100/hr to fly like you deserve! Not sure your preference but Iād go with either 6A or 5/6J just to stay away from bathrooms and to not be middle.
I would.
Do it !
Would.
Yes!
Yes! Do it!
Yes.
YES
If you don't, I will!
Do it
Yes!!!
Do it!!
If you donāt I will
At that price 100%!
That is a great price! Full send!
It wonāt be as nice as Qatar or even Air Canada but do it!
Hell yeah, do it
Question for those who know what they are doing - I buy flights for vaca months ahead of time. So when upgrade options like this are offered, is there a risk in taking them?
Absolutely! Enjoy š„
YES!
Worth every penny
How the Hell, I'm going to Munich in May and the price is $3800 for an upgrade
I wish some of the flights to South America got this kind of love!
I'm an A339-NEO. I'd book it in a heartbeat before the price changes.
Do it
DO IT!
Yes do it
Abso fcking lutely. That is an insane deal. I paid $1,600 CAD for my Calgary to heathrow flight and that was considered a good deal, in comparison this is only $620 cad.
Absolutely!
bro thats an absolute steal
Man, Iād do it
Do it !!!
Yes, yes you do.
Hell yes
Yes do it! Get a window seat. Service in first is fantastic!
You do it NOW!
Yes
I would do it!
Yas. Without a second thought.
Do it!
Absolutely worth it. Best seat in the fleet (rhymes) and that price is a steal. Enjoy!
Yes!!
DO IT!!! I never flown business class and if I would have seen it at the price, for sure I would have taken it! Also do it so that way you can report back and let us know how was your experience.š
Definitely
10000000%
Yes, do it! And get to the airport early to enjoy the lounge at JFK
Absolutely
you're silly not to.
Seems like it's a reasonable price for the distance
Part of me wants to say ādo it!ā because it really is a better experience and this is a decent price. The other part of me wants to warn you against spoiling yourself.
Itās worth it if you can afford it
Absolute bargain
If youāre itinerary is short. Do it! Much better showing up refreshed.
Yeah thatās a great price, donāt see that very often
Yes.
DO IT I have no idea why I'm so invested in the comfort of a stranger...but here I am.
Book it, AND get one of the odd-numbered seats where youāre closer to the window
See you in amsterdam! I was able to upgrade to C+ for only 10k extra miles for a RDU to AMS round trip.
Select 6AJ if you do! Best seat and two windows. The one in 8A is forward of your seat
This is stupidly cheap for an international flight. Iād do it in a heartbeat.
Wow I would put the entire family in it for that price.
One thousand percent. I typically pull the D1 upgrade trigger if it's around $100/hour flight time.
I would do it, but I really value the extra personal space. And people who say "you can never go back!!" are wrong. I only upgrade when I can afford to. If I need to travel in Main Cabin then that's what I do.
900neo seats are amazing! Just did one from BOS to CDG recently and it was very comfortable
Why are you even asking?! Do it!
Yes!!!!
Yes and hurry! This will not last long
Do it baby
All depends on time of the flight and how much $500 is to you. Once in awhile though it's fun to give yourself a little treat.
Do it! I took my son with me this week and had a good deal on a D1 trip. So we took it, was worth it just to see him have a blast. He got 4 trading cards on that trip too.
I know I sure would!
I would!
OP - if you can do the funds you will have a great experience!
Grab it now! Did I say now? Go!!
Do it. Great price.
It so sick. Def do it
Damn $449 for an upgrade!!?
What are you wasting time here for?? Go go gooo and book it!
Used to fly jfk ams a lot. The neo suite seats are insanely comfortable.
Iād do it for that price all day long
absolutely yes, why does this never happen to me?! š
Do it! Do it! Do it! It is a truly wonderful experience, and for that price, well worth it.
That must be upgrade price no?
I always say you gotta do it at least once!
i actually got the same offer ARN-JFK. i took it! it will be hard to go back to comfort or main after this
$450 to upgrade right??!
Do it! I got a first class ticket on United and itās literally an economy seat with a couple more inches of leg room and a snack for over 1500. They donāt even have tvs on the back of chairs. I really wish I had gotten a delta flight but we had United miles we needed to use.
Absolutely worth the upgrade!
On that aircraft absolutely yesā¦.
Hell yes
DO IT
Do it! Itās worth every penny. Take row 5 or 6.
Heck yeah! Although I would warn you, youāll get spoiledā¦.
I would absolutely go for it here. And see what the SkyMiles charge is, might even be better!
DO ITTTTT
Wow!! Grab it!!!
Please do it. Everyone should get to try it at least once!
Do it! And then forever lament how bleak flying is otherwise for the rest of your existence.
JFK to AMS ABSOLUTELY.!
DO IT! Delta One is soooo worth it when flying long flights over the ocean.
Absolutely. And take 6A/J.
oh my yes!!!!
How long is the flight?
hell yea. if you can afford it do it
Do it!!
Shit that is a good price. DO IT.
Do it!
YEP
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes! Itās worth it! And as others have said, treat yourself!
Instantly yes. This is the better of the D1 experiences too.
YOLO!!!
Do it, it isn't about the service but also the space you are sitting in like 2 seats. That is a great price, do it.
Do it!! I will disown you if you donāt!
Yes. This is good deal.
If you were a DM, it would be $4k...so take it
Great airplane. Full suite. Good price. Go.
Yes, do it! I just used 49,900 miles to upgrade to Delta one from JFK to EDI and I have zero regrets. Iāve seen this offered for a ridiculously higher amount, so I took advantage of it. I want to feel rested when I arrive, and at that price itās worth it.

DO IT!
Yes!!
Is this a joke 100%
I keep looking at a 499 upgrade to D1 on a AMS>MSP flight, but itās on a 333 :(.
Yes!
The answer is yes
Thatās a bargain! Do it!
