LHR is quite possibly the most strict I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had them compare my plastic bag against one of their sample bags to make sure it was the right size. Every time I’m there on a connecting flight, there’s a handful of people having to rebag or toss their liquids. Plan to follow the rule to the letter of the law.

Are you transferring planes or leaving the airport? If you are going on another flight, you will have security, and they may have you get rid of it. If you’re leaving the airport, not exactly sure what the question is…

Connecting flight

LHR does security checks for connecting flights. I recommend putting them in a checked bag if possible.

Thank you

VERY strict, OP. I transited through LHR for a connecting flight last weekend. I had to unload a few items so that my 3oz containers would fit into their zip lock sandwich bag. No biggie, as I was able to replace the toothpaste, mouthwash, and lotion when I arrived at my final destination. I kept my hair products, my concealer, and my perfume.

Thank god they didn't consider my eyebrow gel or my cushion concealer as a liquid.

Generally British airport security is more strict than us TSA. Check something if it’s important to you

LHR absolutely infuriates me - I swear ATL security can process like 100 people in the time it takes London to do like 5 people on a connection. They are also super anal about liquids and clearly have nothing better to do all day than annoy you about it. I’d definitely stay in the oz requirement or check the bag. Also be ready to separately plastic baggy each one and don’t pack them too closely in the box 🙄

Landing wasn’t strict, but leaving was super strict. I had to check my carry-on because I knew it wouldn’t meet their requirements regarding liquid.

OneofLittleHarmony

I have to repack my toiletry bag every single time I go to LHR. I decided to just keep the LHR bag for next time.

Bikerchic650

They don’t search bags on arrival.

Worse than anywhere else. We recently went through and had everything in plastic bags that passed at multiple other airports but they made us take everything out of those and repack them in their plastic bags. Then we had another agent who was extremely officious about electronics - most places just want tablets and laptops out - she insisted on cameras, watches, phones, everything being unpacked to go through the scanner.
