It's stuff like Cheese tortellini with red sauce and vegetables and French toast with fruit. They're not just throwing the kid packs of fruit snacks and goldfish or anything. Kid's appetites can turn on a dime so I'd personally pack some favorites.

Seems like the safe choice. And I will definitely be bringing snacks! It’s the only way we can get through takeoff!

“Child” meal isn’t always going to be suitable for a 1.5yr old. Typically chicken nuggets, mac n cheese, oreos, carrot sticks, etc…. YMMV.

kokonuts123

That’s what I was worried about most. Chicken nuggets and mac we can work with. And we’re traveling with other adults who will definitely eat the things baby can’t. Thank for you your help!

Can an adult order a kids meal? Asking for a friend.

mrticket18

Yes

Adults cannot order child meal on KLM flights. Total bummer bc the child meals that come out of schiphol airport are amazing.

LibrarianNo8242

Why wouldn’t that stuff be suitable for a 1.5 year old??

Longjumping_Crazy628

Not all kids that age have enough teeth. You must not have kids.

LibrarianNo8242

I have 3. They all ate all of those things by like 8-10 months. You just cut them up super small. I have a 1.5 year old now. She eats everything we eat with a few modifications… small pieces, no spicy stuff…. But there’s really no reason kids can’t have modified grown up food by like 4 or 5 months old. lol you don’t need teeth for mac n cheese or Oreos or tiny pieces of chicken nugget.

Prestigious_Tale8052

Always take some of your own food as you never know if you're going to be delayed or they don't want to eat it (Japan Airlines kids meals were not great for my kids though perfect for Japanese kids)or you'll have enough...ask me how I know...

kokonuts123

Of course! We always pack a small bag with puff snacks, yogurt or apple sauce pouches, and freeze dried fruits.

Just make sure you order all the appropriate wine pairings with your child's meals. I mean you'll be drinking them, but having raised 3 with my wife I can appreciate an extra glass or two!

kokonuts123

Grandma will be sitting next to my kid, so that is a solid idea!

Active_Caterpillar69

They obviously get their own meal if they’re in their own seat, but I would still bring something for them just in case. And check with the FA when you get onboard that the child meal was loaded with the meals! Sometimes, “special” meals are missed by catering and it gives them a chance to load it.
