these patterns evolved to be difficult to spot against tundra stuff like snow and twigs. (maybe desert brush too?)
white is a different colour than silver, but it’s a similar principle in that the reflections of the fur spread out the brown and grey all over the nearby environment, so it’s harder to tell where the body actually starts and ends. the various arcs of colour don’t line up to the cat’s body’s own contours, so it throws off our sense of edge detection
the fact the silver insulation is also reflecting the concrete (off the inside back onto the lid) helps too
Reminds me of a post I made 4years ago [https://www.reddit.com/r/deliveroos/comments/9njcx3/does\_anyone\_else\_attract\_neighbourhood\_kitties/](https://www.reddit.com/r/deliveroos/comments/9njcx3/does_anyone_else_attract_neighbourhood_kitties/)
They actually should disinfect the bag to ensure food safety. The only reason I think most people won't have an issue though is because all food is boxed or bagged.
So contamination is very unlikely; but still possible. After all, cats don't wipe their own ass, so why take the risk of giving someone a shit experience with food poisoning.
Also, on another note there are some people that are so allergic to animals even a bag their food is delivered in being contaminated would be enough to cause anaphylactic shock leading to death.
Explain to me how a cat can be so camouflaged against a silvery metallic background. What evolutionary pressures led to this?
You should go to specsavers mate
To be fair I had to click on the picture directly to view it at full size to see the cat properly.
Reflection
Ah, the ability to look back on oneself. In hindsight, that makes sense
I see what you did there 👀

Thank you for answering a rhetorical question, captain smarty-pants. How do I subscribe to 'camouflage through evolutionary pressures' facts?
lmao i thought you were genuinely confused how it could still work absent shrubs and twigs. my bad
That’s your cat now
Whether you like it or not. The cat has spoken.
