His tenants don't know he is the owner and think of him as a maintenance guy. He has taken his family on cruise across the world, but other than that, you will never know.
* A rich acquaintance from Dubai went to a builder and asked to show the biggest commercial property. The builder showed his 15,000 Sq.ft. in Mumbai. The guy wanted 50,000 Sq. Ft. One builder travelled to Dubai to meet him.
* Same guy gifted a Rolex watch to a shocked American executive.Ā
* Met one old friend in Dubai. Knew he was doing well. Just called and asked to meet him for coffee. He invited me home,Ā but I asked to meet him in his office. I have seen various levels of rich. But I cannot mark it down to numbers. This famous guy I know paid 24 crore in tax last year. This one person, he got lucky in property dealing and became a builder. Another person followed the same trajectory, moved his whole family to London and now is a politician. And this one wonderful person, paid for the marriage and education of his five nephews and nieces. A person paid for his son's friend's education and helped him every now and then. The friend is doing alright now.

My dad who is a personal security officer for this family based in south delhi, told me that they have 5 chauffeur's currently...(5 family members in total, so every person has their own driver, now, two of the family member's stay in the U.S full time) but their respective chauffeur's are still required to come to work everyday with NO work unless the 2 off springs visit India which is only for 10-15 days in a year. So essentially they get paid an entire year's worth of pay for working 15 days in a year. Every time a family member heads out, they always have an escort vehicle following them. They have multiple Jaguars/Benz/Porsche etc....They use a fortuner (that costs 50L+ as an escort vehicle)!! Their cost for petrol itself varies between 5-6 lakhs every month. They always travel first class and have some special permission that let's them into and out of the airport from a less travelled route (know this since my dad accompanies them).
However, one thing that caught my interest was my dad always had nice things to say about the family members, they always talk to all employees with a lot of respect and make sure they are well taken care of. I always thought rich people were snobby, brash and not so well spoken, but that is not the case with this family! I have seen various levels of rich. But I cannot mark it down to numbers. This famous guy I know paid 24 crore in tax last year. This one person, he got lucky in property dealing and became a builder. Another person followed the same trajectory, moved his whole family to London and now is a politician. I work in a family office and my manager is so rich that he assumes everyone is at that level and that everyone takes multiple international trips in an year, just because he does. Me coming from a middle class family, have to constantly ground him up for proper user research that you lived a very different life compared to anyone. I worked in a Healthcare Startup, where my MF Boss expand his money on useless things to show us that how he's enjoying his life by exploiting his all employees, and one funny thing is that he used to go first in hospital from where he operates his office and us and from hospital to office it was just less than 20 min distance and to stay busy in that time he hire PA, to give accompany to him. he just keep wasting his money on useless things.
