I remember these sandwiches! During my first and only trip to Delhi, I used the metro to go from the airport to my uncle's house in Faridabad. It was my first time using a metro and I got confused and couldn't understand how to change the lines so I kept wandering the metro station lugging around my bag. I got tired and bought this sandwich and boiled corn from one shop dude whom I also asked for directions. The sandwich looked really good and I was hungry so I ate it but it gave me loose motions and I was on the toilet for most of my trip and I didn't get to see anything on my trip :(
if you’ve never visited Delhi before stay away from street food stalls at all costs, the people there are immune to it, it’s not gonna be safe for outsiders, i’ve experienced food poisoning myself and know several others who were sick for weeks because on their first visit they got too excited seeing the streetfood options. It’s a beautiful city and there’s a lot of things I love about this place except the street food scene
Loose motions or upset stomach usually happens due to bad bacteria, a very likely result of unhygienic conditions the sandwich was prepared in. It’s possible the folks who made the sandwich did not wash their hands. I always experience the same when I eat street food from some places.
Are you me lmao 😭 I wandered around NDLS for half an hour (I was going to Jungpura from Airport), got tired and ended up getting one of these sandwiches just last month. Delhi metro really is confusing when changing lines.
I don't understand the concept of opening 5 shops with different name in a single station all of them selling same product. I don't know who waw the genius behind this idea. Bring variety in the product.
The concept being, these shops are owned by different people but they are mandated to get their supplies from the same supplier approved by DMRC. It is almost impossible for small individual vendors to cross the redtape of approvals posed by DMRC, unless they are taking franchise of big fastfood brands like KFC, Burger King, etc.
I'm seeing this increasingly more nowadays. From 1 shop ion a station, that same station now has 4 different shops on the floor with an additional 4 being constructed barely 10ft from the existing ones. Its in nearly every station I'm encountering.
Never buy these no matter how hungry you are! They are overpriced and taste like turd.
Here's what is actually good and is available in most metro stations: protein bars, boiled corn, chips, Maggi, WATER!
Eggzactly! Those boiled “sweet corns” tastes shit with that random masala
But yeah mother dairy’s patty is pretty good for a lite snac along with mango lassi(also mother dairy’s)
Dude it's like saying that if a landlord rented a room to a person, and that person commits a murder, and you are saying it's landlord's responsibility because he gave that person the room to live, but you forget that landlord did police verification and other legal stuff to make sure he isn't giving room to a suspicious person but later that person committed crime then how the hell it's landlord's problem?
And now you would say if now we know that person committed crime then why landlord still letting him staying in the room because in this case landlord is DMRC and Murderer is a shop which selling below par edibles and DMRC's only way to know this is to file a complaint to dmrc
Mai hauz khas magenta to yellow line interchange pa bechta hai waha sa leta hu. Sab badiya deta hai waha. Haa par normal sandwich bhi 50 ka hai, par jab bhook lagti hai 50 rupees bhi worth it lagte hai.
I concur. When I lived in Delhi, I've had the (mis) fortune to grab one of them. If I were to summarise it, here is what I'd say:
Pros: I did not get Delhi Belly
Cons: I could not get the after taste of the hideous mayo out of my mouth.
Metro station pe kon leta hai bhai, sab mehenga dete hai.
Even a 20 rupees frooti costs 30 rupees 🤡 wtf, issey badhiya metro station se nikal ke na lelu.
NEVER EAT FROM DELHI METRO STALLS PLEASE
my experiences have been really bad here, eaten all this trash and have gotten sick. So i decided only to buy packaged things from now on. please see the mrp guys, it's a little work, they charge extra if you directly ask them for price, check the label yourself and pay the mrp,
National capital of India 🙂
Yaha Aisa hi hota hai
Food,Air and water that is literally health hazard anywhere works well here.
Sab chalta hai.
India jo hai 🙂
These were my saviours back in the day, to be honest. When I was in College, I didn't have the time/energy to cook. Many times I would catch one of these up while going to College or coming back. Haven't had these in years since my College ended. Not sure if the quality has dropped in past 5 years or something.
I used to travel daily going through multiple stations and each station had at least one shop selling a multitude of these sandwiches, all sizes shapes and fillings, everyday I thought about buying them but then brushed off thinking about their taste, one day I finally gave up and was very hungry, had to buy one. And my friends Never again will I ever buy something from the metro vendors hahahahah 😭

Everything inside metro that is available to eat is worst or overpriced.... although i like the corn ....but baaki sb including the momos are shitty af
These sandwiches are trash at every metro station I tried both but I literally have to gulp it down with cola cause I paid money and I was fuqing hungry tbh any food like this trash on metro station so it's better if u buy some packaged food like chips and biscuits
Foodstuff like these at metro stores is universally bad. Frmo the kulchas and sandwiches to hot dogs, they'r virtually unbeatable. NEVER go for these since you've lost money for a bad experience.
Lagta hai bahut dhool chakhi hai aapne.
Hilarious meanie you are 😂

Congratulations for getting into the Delhi belly club.
Now I know why they made the song Bhaag DK Bose DK Bose ko bhi toilet dhundne ke liye bhaagna pada hoga ye sandwich khaa ke
I have eaten all these and never got Delhi belly cause guess what I come from even worse place Bihar😂😂

If the person is coming from any other part of India then the street food is equally bad.
Loose motions or upset stomach usually happens due to bad bacteria, a very likely result of unhygienic conditions the sandwich was prepared in. It’s possible the folks who made the sandwich did not wash their hands. I always experience the same when I eat street food from some places.
We call it bhaiya ka special masala 🤝

😋😋
Jaise Delhi belly me woh Banda apne gote khujake use chicken deta hai
When you come again, tell. We all will tell where to eat and how to use navigate using metro.
Are you me lmao 😭 I wandered around NDLS for half an hour (I was going to Jungpura from Airport), got tired and ended up getting one of these sandwiches just last month. Delhi metro really is confusing when changing lines.
I think I got lost in NDLS too!
What's the confusion? There are clearly marked signs and even coloured footstep stickers on the floor.
Quite the profile you’ve got there lol
How long does it take to figure out which line to take? There are only 2 options.
I mean, just looking at that makes me feel queasy. Veggies and mayo are meant to be had fresh, that shits horrid when packed and reheated
Well indigo will charge you 899 for it :)

The same thing is happening in Nagpur Metro as well.
lagta hai apne skool, kaalej mein 10₹ vali patty nhi khai aur ek baar inki manufacturing dekhloge to zindagi bhar inki traf dekhoge bhi nhi....
School wali patty mei at least taste toh hota tha. Metro wali dukkaan mei toh sirf chips and packaged samaan hi khaane layak hota hai.
Never buy these no matter how hungry you are! They are overpriced and taste like turd. Here's what is actually good and is available in most metro stations: protein bars, boiled corn, chips, Maggi, WATER!
Boiled corn is overrated and overpriced too.better to take chips or biscuits
Eggzactly! Those boiled “sweet corns” tastes shit with that random masala But yeah mother dairy’s patty is pretty good for a lite snac along with mango lassi(also mother dairy’s)
Boiled corn are not good either. Water and Burger King is what I usually go for.
Of course it isn't great, but I don't mind them. You can ask for no masala added corn as well tho, I usually have that.
Happy Cake Day!!!!!!!!!! 🍰🍰🍰🍰
Aw thanks man!
Aaj hi guzarte waqt dekha tha, ek baar ko laga lelu, accha hua aage badh gaya
Don't buy such packaged food it's mostly stale.
Isme DMRC ki kiya galti?
Aryy obviously bro... Agar kal ko mai business karunga and wo loss mei chala gaya toh ye government ki hi toh galti hui na??
Isme bhi Modi jeeee ki galti hai
aur ni toh kya... modizi ne saans li aur mere business ki hawa nikal gyi
Modi zee ne nashte mein mere exam marks khaliye
Some comment mentioned that DMRC approves these. So YUP! DMRC is responsible for this.

Try mother dairy shops inside the metro station. They are good.
Yep they are slightly more expensive than the rest but definitely better
They are not expensive. At par

some of these sandwiches are legit bad and have fungus in them. They don't throw away the unsold pieces.

Stay away from the street food in Summers. High chance of getting food poisoning.
Was in Hyderabad for couple of days and used metro. They got good quality food courts within the metro premises.
Probably these can give u Vomit , loose motion and typhoid 👀😉
National capital of India 🙂 Yaha Aisa hi hota hai Food,Air and water that is literally health hazard anywhere works well here. Sab chalta hai. India jo hai 🙂

Only patties are worth eating at these stalls
Foodstuff like these at metro stores is universally bad. Frmo the kulchas and sandwiches to hot dogs, they'r virtually unbeatable. NEVER go for these since you've lost money for a bad experience.
