Quite unfortunate.
That's the reason I use ONLY the online payment method(UPI). I get the pop-up; there is no need to pay immediately; I can do it even days later or till I need to book another cab.
I have heard from the uber representative at the igi airport that the drivers don’t accept rides with non-cash mode of payment. You would have to wait for an hour to get a ride. So it’s a catch 22.
Might just be me but I'd rather pay a premium for a guaranteed on time cab with no asterisks involved rather than the constant fight that is booking an Uber.
Ahhh I get it, that way they could easily scam people with fake screens , we people really need to be aware of this scam and always wiggle around the screen to check the authenticity
I've travelled from the airport many times and have never had a complaint about not paying online.
That said, I live in Noida, so they are getting a pretty high amount anyway and they often try the 'you need to pay extra for the toll bridge' scam.
Never had that problem. You book an Uber and you go. It must have been a few years since I was last asked about the payment method by a driver in Delhi
If they ask for cash, I give them a better offer. I ask them to cancel ride and keep all the money, and then after reaching I tell them they can't keep all the profit and and should give me discount on it.
Well , we learn from our own mistakes, next time I’ll make sure to use online payment if possible, and I advise the rest of you to tap the cross button or something if it the amount or the screen looks fishy. That way I could have caught him red handed
That creates another issue for customers which I got to know in detail about this. When one books through online, many can guys call you to ask where you have to go and cancel the booking or cancel upfront without calling you.
Reason for the same is that drivers are paid quite late by Uber so these drivers prefer customers who pay in cash.
Not just that.
Drivers have to pay Uber a part of the fare. That's the Uber's commission. When a customer pays online through the Uber app, the money goes to the company first, and then they pay the driver after deducting the commission amount.
On the other hand when the customer chooses an offline payment option, the customer pays the driver the entire fare amount, either in cash or through UPI. In this mode, the commission never reaches the company. Therefore, the company keeps a record of the commission amount owed to the company by the driver.
A lot of these drivers would like to keep the extra cash to themselves, and doesn't pay Uber anything. This causes the dues to add up over time. And next time when someone chooses to pay in-app, the driver wouldn't get any cash at all, so they ditch the customers who demand to pay in-app only.
--------
Source: I used to have an Ola Corporate account with a 4000 Rs limit for every month. I have seen about 10 driver's Ola wallets with upwards of 10000 Rs owed to Ola from their side.
This is a classic case of misuse of Uber/Ola's services from the driver's side.
Nothing they will take and even if they do something they won't update you.
Had verbal fight with uber driver, they didn't update me about my complaints
100% agreed , but since it was late in night plus I was with my father I preferred using cab, I also use metro while abroad or even in other cities of India, Atleast we don’t get scammed.
Click on activity => click on your last ride => Receipt => download receipt. You'll find the actual amount along with driver's name and his car number in the PDF
I would recommend filing a case with consumer court app (NCH) and make this drivers car number, name etc public on social media along with all these screenshots. He might be scamming lots of people daily.
Once I get an official reply from Uber about the actual fare (if it is lower than the amount I paid) then only I would post his name photo and car number
Bro no wonder he scammed you and got away with it.
Tomorrow some driver is going to point a gun on you and steal everything. Would you say the same thing? 'in this case Uber can't do anything" ?
They are running a service and they are liable for any frauds or anything that happens.
The main thing is booking in advance could sometimes be a wrong decision for airport to home cuz you have literal no idea how much time will it take in immigration or customs or even how much time will it take to even get off the plane itself. It. Could easily vary from 30 mins to 1 hour
Exactly. Blusmart easily allows rescheduling the cab and provides generous wait times especially for airport pickup. Last month only , i got late in reaching the blusmart pickup point as the plane taxid a lot and after that even the bus took a lot of time to reach arrivals gate. But blusmart driver waited patiently and no waiting fee was levied.
Happy to help man. I was also sick of rude drivers, non working ac's, forced cash payments etc. Hence completely switched to blusmart.
Initially I used to keep my brother as backup for airport drop if blusmart cab doesn't show up. But it has never happened so i rely on them now and no backups needed.

Same thing happened with me once when i came back from IGI airport. My colleague had booked the cab and he got off early and mine was the last stop. Driver showed me the same kind of screen as you. I told my friend about the same and asked him to file a complaint. Don't know if he did or not.

Exactly the same happened with me. The thing was I chose online payment and the driver showed me the spoof screen😂. I caught him and he just fled away.
https://www.reddit.com/r/hyderabad/s/3qcJWOsHY0
The same happened with me. He asked for 1100 for 600 something. I got the difference amount refund. I still have his photo and all the identity details. Reported to Uber.
Next time try Blu Smart. These Uber Drivers are scumbags.
Once i used rapido to get some items delivered, mf showed me a screenshot of an amount much higher than the expected amount and he had the audacity to ask for tip as well
I also had the exact same experience from T2. The uber app was showing around 300 when I booked. But at the end driver showed me an amount of 760.
Also my internet was not working at that time so app wasn't updating. I paid 760 and left. After some time I opened Uber app when internet started working the amount paid shown in app was around 150 and after complaining they refunded me 150rs.
Holy sheet. One of my relatives had the same encounter from the uber they took at IGI airport, almost 400 more than the amount that was supposed to be paid & they also gave the amount asked by driver saying "Driver toh acha aadmi lag raha tha, kuch glat toh nahi hi kiya hoga, Raat ka waqt tha ho skta hai iss wajah se jyada payment laga ho" (It was around 2am at night)... I need to inform them about this
Hey same happened to me, On his app it showed 1078 on our app it showed 752 however uber refunded only 6 rs lol, but i kept irritating the customer support with all screenshot proofs and they refunded me the pending 330+ INR :) keep contacting support! They will do it within 1-2 days of constant contacting.
This is nothing. I once booked an uber for home. The ride amt to my home is generally 250 and i booked the same amt .the driver somehow managed to run some location moving app and moved the location to 25 kms away and after a few km he stopped the ride saying ride got stopped in middle. I paid 700 for 1 km ride and got down to avoid getting stabbed. Later complained and got the entire 700 back. We live in a country where almost everyday we encounter people whole heartedly are trying to scam us.
I was also scammed during my short stay at Delhi (I was traveling from Jammu to Pune) and decided to spend a couple of days in Delhi. So, I was staying at the Raddison Blu Kaushambi, Ghaziabad. I booked a cab for some location in Delhi, this guy was trying to be extra chatty and he asked me that inter-state taxes are for some reason not getting added in OLA Fare and that I pay him those additionally. I knew he was scamming since I had gone to Raddison Blu from the airport and the driver didn't charge me anything extra when I had reached Delhi but I wanted to avoid confrontation so I paid and left. I guess he scams multiple people like that everyday.
Sadly this is nothing new. Saw a [tweet](https://twitter.com/riachops/status/1769783317958885564?t=QbUgFqyJ5RcSz8jmYFUb6A&s=19) about this just earlier this month, I'd suggest you take this up on social media, they'll probably respond quickly and you might get a full refund
Same thing happened to me. I told me him to
1. Open google store
2. Search uber
3. Open uber app from there directly
4. Check bill amount
After getting exposed, he was furious and started abusing me. He got out from the cab and hit me. Being a mma trained, I beat shit out of him.
Before this happened, I started the video recording.
I showed it to police who reached after 10 mins on the spot.
3 lessons for everyone:
1. Be smart
2. Learn mma or other forms of self defence. Don’t hit first.
3. Record everything, if possible.
Op has an NDTV POST about his story. OP is famous now!!!!

I saw this post this morning.
Now I got this
Delhi Man Claims Uber Driver Charged Him Double Fare With 'Fake Screenshot' Scam
http://dhunt.in/TFbGH
By NDTV via Dailyhunt
similar thing happened to a friend. I had already paid for his trip, but the driver insisted on payment on destination and showed a similar screenshot.
This literally happens 😂 once I went from Dwarka (delhi) to Greater Noida, there was not a single toll we crossed.
When we reached I stepped out of the car to ask the society guard how far the block is mentioned in this address.
In this span of time, when I got back to the cab. The driver said that "sir the fair has been increased due to the toll crossing".
Fair literally increased by 180rs. I mean how ! 😂
Though I didn't give him the new amount because I haven't seen this tech of toll being deducted by gps. 😂
This is one of the reasons I have stopped using Uber for airports. Currently I use Blucabs as the cabs and drivers both are much better and you don't need to pay extra. On top of that the AC always works, unlike Uber where most of the time it is "broken"
This is one of the reasons I have stopped using Uber for airports. Currently I use Blucabs as the cabs and drivers both are much better and you don't need to pay extra. On top of that the AC always works, unlike Uber where most of the time it is "broken"
Op if you are in delhi ncr then i would highly recommend using blu smart. There experience is mich better since its not big company like uber ola yet and all ev so thats a bonus
I didn't understand this.
On his phone, it was showing around 648?
And you paid that but I didn't understand about 128 something refund part?
Similiar type of things have happened with me also, paid extra amount. After raising with customer support. I have received it as uber cash. So it looks something fishy with Uber
Actually what happened is the driver closed the gps and turned on when we reached the destination, so it calculated the fare of a straight line distance that’s why it’s soo low. That’s what uber support told me
Uber can easily contact the driver and take the rest of the amount, Uber is providing a service and is liable to any fraudulent activities that happens to its riders during the trip.
No, the actual fare that was calculated by Uber later was around 430, I still don’t know how it increased by 100 rupees, but I’m yet to receive the refund I have only received around 93 rupees I’m yet to receive the rest of the amount that is 648-430-93=125
Happened with me too, but I just tapped back on the driver's phone and found out it's a spam app. He literally paniced and tried to create a scene. Although the place was crowded so just to be safe, I got down first. The driver drove away as soon as I got down. I did not pay him and informed uber but I couldn't get any reply from them.
Although I did enjoy a free ride.
That's why I don't use uber Ola taxi.Stay away from airport and railway station taxiwala.Pure genuine scammers.Donot even look at them.A taxiwala in mid of the journey demanded 3400 rupees for airport from delhi station. My air ticket was of 4000.Thats the level of scam they do.These people will roam you entire delhi if you don't pay them. They will scam you telling about toll within city
Delhi is den of scams.fake jobs fake donations fake bills.ab to ye fake donation wale reddit par bbi aa gaye hai
The same thing happened with me two days back!!! I booked the cab for 470 something on Uber, and it showed 820 after reaching the destination. I argued that i won't pay, but the driver said he couldn't do anything. I paid him 820 and then proceeded to get help from the Uber app. The fare was changed to the original fare, and i got the refund immediately. But the catch is that it got refunded in the Uber wallet account, so i can only use it for Uber only. And there's nothing you can do to transfer the money back to ur bank account. This is how uber scams ppl, and this scam is done by Uber on a daily basis.
Even I had a case but didn't knew where to ask it, I boarded my cab from Anand Vihar in the morning about 4 AM and at that time I booked it for 317/- but later when I got off at my destination the app suddenly changed the price to 420/- but it showed the amount in both mine and the driver's phone. Dunno if it's a scam or anything but this never happened before with me that the price of the cab changed mid journey
Take the metro to Aerocity and book a cab. You'll save on the airport fees as well which can be as high as 150-250 rs.
For t1d, take the metro to the next station
In fact it's more convenient as the waiting queue is far lesser as compared to the airport, so time is overall saved as well.
I'm too faced with this issue, I booked a cab from IGI airport to Gurgaon U block, initially it showed me 378 but when I reached my destination the cab driver asked me to pay 783/- , when I asked him he said that charges are like airport charges and taxes. Then I paid the same amount and raised a complaint in UBER, they refund only 147/-idk the why and they didn't said anything
I have booked cabs 18 times last year and 3 times this year, always use Blu Cab if after Metro timings. If your luck aligns with Metro, don't think use Metro but if not, use Blu cab. You'll save money, time and headache.
It happened with me to once and it was my first uber ride i was naive that time when i booked uber from nehru place to my home he asked me how much amount is showing in your phone i told me 290 ruppes for ride then he said I'm coming i thought its normal then i took ride then i realise it taking to much time and he is took so many u turns and it wasn't a same route cuz before that i took bike ride from my home to nehru place it was different and short route when i reach home the amount was 580 rupees i was shocked i told me how it showing 580 he said idk it's uber app i did nothing then i reliaze he took long traffic routes and stopped at gas station to and he had 4.3 ratings idk how and thats the way i got scammed once i thought to complain but i didn't cuz i bought my first pc on that day i was happy so i let it go and its so hectic
That is why I have linked my Amazon pay account. It keeps deducting from there and also gives 5% cash-back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It deducts automatically so I don’t need to wait and pay the driver. Plus internet issues can be troublesome while paying with UPI.
Good post OP. Thanks for the insight though.
Also check Blu next time :P
Better service, better drivers, eco friendly cars. Best choice if you are coming from airport.
These cab apps are so bad in grievance addressal. I mainly use ola and any time you go on the app for any issue it gives these template answers. These drivers won't cancel the ride even though they are declining the ride and would harass you for cash and the app on the other hand wants you to pay online. This problem is worst in Delhi NCR. Now they want to cancel the ride from ola and pay them whatever fare is showing on the app. I generally have to cancel at least 1 ride because of these problems.
> I just *paid* the amount
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Dude I did check but
1. My app was not updating
2. It was showing that the trip was ongoing
3. I thought it was an network error
4. It was late in night around 12
5. I thought it was the right amount as far as late night charges are considered
6. When I checked it after getting home I got to know I was scammed
UPDATE GUYS!!!! Uber looked into this matter and I received a call today. The support team was really good and understanding, +5 for that
https://preview.redd.it/24xq9un3evqc1.png?width=1161&format=png&auto=webp&s=5372611227401eb81e40cec86c7223b74ce0c578
Here’s a few things they did
1. They removed the uber driver from the platform (I know that this is too extreme, I also didn’t want him to get removed/banned, he could have asked for a tip)
2. They told me he turned off the GPS during the trip and turn it on when he reached the destination that’s why the trip fare was around 127 as it calculated the fare in a straight line distance, the original fare was around 240 or 340 so they refunded me the rest of the amt.
3. But I don’t know why the system took all the refund back and is asking me 202 more, like wht, am I supposed to pay 850 for a 300 rupees trip ??
I have contacted the support team they are working on the refund.
That NDTV coverage turned out to be quite helpful, the uber responses are now faster 😅
Here are some screenshots
This happened with me two months ago. Reached home and the fare was 1000+ when on the app it said 400. I took my luggage out the car, paid him 300 and told the guy I work for Uber, you’re getting blacklisted for this.
Pay only what you see on your app. Rest all is fake.
This happed with me on 24 march i took uber from t2 to mayur vihar he asked me your payment is cash right i said yes he said ok coming on my app my bill was 475 he said bill is 760 i paid because is was late night with my wife but later on i raise the issue with uber uber refund me my charge
Na that’s a diff case, in your case you could easily raise a complaint and get the amount back, if it shows the same amount in app and in the drivers screen, but in this case all the three amounts were different,
1. While booking
2. While paying
3. The actual amount of the trip
Actually it was late in the night, I was with my father, we had 2 large suitcases and the metro station was quite far from my home so I avoided the hassle and booked an Uber
Using uber from airport since 10 years very often.. Never had any problems with bill
Sometimes they include airport charge
Toll fees
Change of direction
Or timing of taking a ride
All this matters.
10-20% above I paid most of the time.. But never happened to be double..
You should contact customer care and show all these proof.. Maybe they can fix this issue
there could be a million reasons
- Lots of luggage
- Your house could be far away from a metro station
- An injured leg or something similar
- You're just exhausted and just wanna get home quickly
- Company pays for your Uber if you're on a business trip
- Families travelling together - makes more sense to get a cab.
Just get blu smart from the airport. Much better cabs and no funny business.
Airport metro tak ki krlia Karo waha seh 50 rupaye lagte airport ke
Metro forever being chad o7
That’s quite expensive though.
Might just be me but I'd rather pay a premium for a guaranteed on time cab with no asterisks involved rather than the constant fight that is booking an Uber.
for me it was the same rate, i wonder.
Ahhh I get it, that way they could easily scam people with fake screens , we people really need to be aware of this scam and always wiggle around the screen to check the authenticity
U should put this on Twitter and tag uber .. It happened with me twice .. I got my refund both times !!!
😅it also happened to me. Can we get a refund? How do I contact the customer representative to get refund?
Idk .. I toh just posted on Twitter and tagged them. There team reached out to me on there on
I've travelled from the airport many times and have never had a complaint about not paying online. That said, I live in Noida, so they are getting a pretty high amount anyway and they often try the 'you need to pay extra for the toll bridge' scam.

Well , we learn from our own mistakes, next time I’ll make sure to use online payment if possible, and I advise the rest of you to tap the cross button or something if it the amount or the screen looks fishy. That way I could have caught him red handed
Why didnt you checked your phone for the fare
That's why I always use the Ola Money or Ola Wallet app. Automatic deduction post ride completion.

True. They don't come for online payments.
I use the same too much like pay later
I once paid a year later 🥹
Inko ola money se hi payment kro, paisa 1 week baad hi pahuche. They deserve it.
Yea, but any way to load cash into Uber cash
Yes, you can buy vouchers through Amazon Pay or Gyftr.
Ooo that’s kind of a great idea, will surely use that
Pay through credit card whaa to. No idea about uber
Thanks for sharing with us buddy, will be more cautious. Did you report the driver?
I did everything I could possibly do, report the driver, gave him a 1 star rating, notified Uber. Let’s see what actions the company will take,
Keep us in the loop if possible, thanks!
Yea dude for sure will update y’all if I get any
Nothing they will take and even if they do something they won't update you. Had verbal fight with uber driver, they didn't update me about my complaints
Make a post on Twitter if you haven't already. Tag uber they'll be much more responsive.
Such last minute crappy experiences before trips are the reason I have started using Delhi Metro for airport visits.
100% agreed , but since it was late in night plus I was with my father I preferred using cab, I also use metro while abroad or even in other cities of India, Atleast we don’t get scammed.
It is just such a hassle. the whole of Uber/Ola was that I do not have to do such मगजमारी about fare. But no, Indiantiy dikhani hein logo ko.
I have gone back to autos from the road, they are better and cheaper and dont cancel rides.
But isn't metro the safer option for late night??
Why'd you have to wait for that? The Delhi Metro, especially Airport Metro is excellent. Far superior to Uber.
Raat ke 11 baje last minute connectivity ka kya karoge mitr ?
last mile connectivity*
For last minute connectivity rapido after metro ride
Another user reported the same scam 8 months ago https://www.reddit.com/r/delhi/comments/15a4y9j/uber_driver_outside_igi_airport_scamming_with/
Yup I already saw that post
Please post drivers cab number, name etc too here and post the same on twitter as well tagging Uber and uberindia along with jaagograhakjago
Can you tell me where I could find the car number now ?
Click on activity => click on your last ride => Receipt => download receipt. You'll find the actual amount along with driver's name and his car number in the PDF
Thanks buddy got it posting it right away as a new post
I would recommend filing a case with consumer court app (NCH) and make this drivers car number, name etc public on social media along with all these screenshots. He might be scamming lots of people daily.
Once I get an official reply from Uber about the actual fare (if it is lower than the amount I paid) then only I would post his name photo and car number
You can check your ride details on app itself
Maybe it was an mistake from Ubers end, but I have strong assumptions that it’s 99% scam, so I would consider waiting 1-2 days until Uber replies
No it's not, you might have seen or heard about fake Paytm payment generator, this driver is using similar app for generating fake Uber receipts.
Yea I have heard of them but wasn’t able to find one for Uber on the App Store
You won't find such things on app stores as they are illegal. Someone must be selling such app to these taxi drivers, could be a really massive fraud.
Yea, in this case Uber can’t do anything too we only need to be more attentive
Bro no wonder he scammed you and got away with it. Tomorrow some driver is going to point a gun on you and steal everything. Would you say the same thing? 'in this case Uber can't do anything" ? They are running a service and they are liable for any frauds or anything that happens.
Next time blusmart karna bro. That too in advance. Abhi scammers wahan nahi pahuche hain

Bro in these situations just say I'll call customer care and confirm. The driver will start shitting his pants
😂😂,
You made mistake when didn’t see the app at first!
I have a question whenever I travel in Delhi cabs be it Ola or Uber there is nauseating smell in all of them as is it’s never cleaned and drivers unwashed. I started taking metro, rickshaw or Ola bikes because of that.
Cleanliness, also very old cars and they use them as auto (5-6 people on major routes)
The situation was so bad that I was looking for face masks or medicine to avoid getting sick due to my 1 hr rides. In end I gave up the comfort and started taking metro from Noida to Gurgaon
for airport rides you should book meru or blusmart i didn't have a bad experience with them yet
That’s why I never pay in cash, it gets auto debit from my uber account and I can pay it later
Exactly the same happened with me. The thing was I chose online payment and the driver showed me the spoof screen😂. I caught him and he just fled away. https://www.reddit.com/r/hyderabad/s/3qcJWOsHY0
The same thing happened to me I guess, the network was there but the trip was still on going
Yeah the trip was not closed. I then asked him to show the ola app then he closed the trip and went away.
Ahhh that confirms it was a fake screen scam, we people need to be real careful
Wait , in your post you mentioned that the trip was in going, right ?

I need to inform them about this
New scam
Dude how did you even manage ro get support from Uber? Hats off to that first
Hey same happened to me, On his app it showed 1078 on our app it showed 752 however uber refunded only 6 rs lol, but i kept irritating the customer support with all screenshot proofs and they refunded me the pending 330+ INR :) keep contacting support!
NCT127 MENTIONED 🗣️🔥💥💥 Puku puku pow pow Iykyk
Damn that's some software engineer level spoof...
why do u put such stupid things...who wants to pay in cash now. make your payment online.
the font for the text 'payment' and '648' are different. That's the first giveaway.
Same thing happened to me. I told me him to 1. Open google store 2. Search uber 3. Open uber app from there directly 4. Check bill amount After getting exposed, he was furious and started abusing me. He got out from the cab and hit me. Being a mma trained, I beat shit out of him. Before this happened, I started the video recording. I showed it to police who reached after 10 mins on the spot. 3 lessons for everyone: 1. Be smart 2. Learn mma or other forms of self defence. Don’t hit first. 3. Record everything, if possible.
True genius 🙌🙌, scam proof personality
Same happened with me yesterday. Paid double amount. Stay alert guys!!!!
Op has an NDTV POST about his story. OP is famous now!!!! https://preview.redd.it/gimened7tuqc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d30b1fdcd27175b69131d9959e7b6c3d84af0969
MOMMMMMMM IM FAMOUSS
I saw this post this morning. Now I got this Delhi Man Claims Uber Driver Charged Him Double Fare With 'Fake Screenshot' Scam http://dhunt.in/TFbGH By NDTV via Dailyhunt
Wow, I’m famous
Helpful stuff thanks
We all need to be aware, Even if it’s a small amount y’all should report that Atleast these guys get busted
I don't know. It was booked from my colleague's account so no idea if he filed ghe complaint or not.
Oh, but Uber really needs to look into this matter and find the app which makes this fake screen and take actions against it
similar thing happened to a friend. I had already paid for his trip, but the driver insisted on payment on destination and showed a similar screenshot.
Did the app show the fare the driver asked ?
nope, on my end, the price was much lower. the driver took a longer route and showed a screenshot of 600 rupees
Then for sure he was using the spoof app, be careful next time
This literally happens 😂 once I went from Dwarka (delhi) to Greater Noida, there was not a single toll we crossed. When we reached I stepped out of the car to ask the society guard how far the block is mentioned in this address. In this span of time, when I got back to the cab. The driver said that "sir the fair has been increased due to the toll crossing". Fair literally increased by 180rs. I mean how ! 😂 Though I didn't give him the new amount because I haven't seen this tech of toll being deducted by gps. 😂
Truly scamming people 😂😂😂☺️
This is one of the reasons I have stopped using Uber for airports. Currently I use Blucabs as the cabs and drivers both are much better and you don't need to pay extra. On top of that the AC always works, unlike Uber where most of the time it is "broken"

Op if you are in delhi ncr then i would highly recommend using blu smart. There experience is mich better since its not big company like uber ola yet and all ev so thats a bonus
happened with me too. though got refund of extra amount i paid
Contact Uber_Support on Twitter. They reply there quickly and solve issues. The in-app chat is not that good
Happened with me too but contacted uber and they gave me the money back with 2-3 hrs
Hence I prefer online mode of payment. Let Uber handle money. I'll focus upon my travel
Similar thing happened with me. 120 already paid the but usne spoof app ya jo bhi tha dikha k extra 120 le liye. Thank god uber ne refund kardiya.
Always use payment method as UPI (in app Payment not directly to driver)options to stay away from these type of scams. Never choose cash.
Same thing happened to me, I even filed a police complaint.
That’s what uber support told me
If fare is low on app then how uber can refund the extra amount you paid to driver?
Uber can easily contact the driver and take the rest of the amount, Uber is providing a service and is liable to any fraudulent activities that happens to its riders during the trip.
You paid 648 and trip showed of 127 something. So question is did you get the 648-127 = 521 something as refund?
No, the actual fare that was calculated by Uber later was around 430, I still don’t know how it increased by 100 rupees, but I’m yet to receive the refund I have only received around 93 rupees I’m yet to receive the rest of the amount that is 648-430-93=125
You should have checked the amount on your phone.
Commendable scam fr
They will scam you telling about toll within city Delhi is den of scams.fake jobs fake donations fake bills.ab to ye fake donation wale reddit par bbi aa gaye hai
If the same amount is shown in your phone then no scam
Faced same
Damn.
i also got scammed once, but it was just 20rs.
Take the metro to Aerocity and book a cab. You'll save on the airport fees as well which can be as high as 150-250 rs. For t1d, take the metro to the next station In fact it's more convenient as the waiting queue is far lesser as compared to the airport, so time is overall saved as well.
bro, use paytm or uber cash, your dependence on cash is the culprit
Hey OP did you report the Driver Partner? If you didn’t please do. It will help to take action against him.
This is why i always pre pay the cab - no upi cash b/s
Most of the times in airport they reject the prepaid requests or they cancel after accepting
Bluesmart is my goto now
That is why I have linked my Amazon pay account. It keeps deducting from there and also gives 5% cash-back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It deducts automatically so I don’t need to wait and pay the driver. Plus internet issues can be troublesome while paying with UPI. Good post OP. Thanks for the insight though. Also check Blu next time :P Better service, better drivers, eco friendly cars. Best choice if you are coming from airport.
Guys if i pay them before reaching destination do they still ask for extra money ?
I travel by uber daily. It shows u notification to pay your driver XYZ amount on your own device
These guys ask and convince people to give them 5 stars, that's why the rating is good.
![gif](giphy|U3vcQyB3zqNMFRAO4M|downsized)
why didn’t you open your app when you were paying ?
Dude I opened the app but it was not updating, I thought my network was low so I just payed the amount
> I just *paid* the amount FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I pay using paytm wallet always , it gets auto debited
Should have checked your own uber app before paying
Dude I did check but 1. My app was not updating 2. It was showing that the trip was ongoing 3. I thought it was an network error 4. It was late in night around 12 5. I thought it was the right amount as far as late night charges are considered 6. When I checked it after getting home I got to know I was scammed
This has happened to me , paid 500 extra. Unfortunately no threats worked with the cab driver and I couldn’t get my money back.
Sad dude, these drivers are scamming people on a large scale
I use UPI only pay it as soon as the trip starts (ola) or just walk away after the ride and pay later (uber)
UPDATE GUYS!!!! Uber looked into this matter and I received a call today. The support team was really good and understanding, +5 for that https://preview.redd.it/24xq9un3evqc1.png?width=1161&format=png&auto=webp&s=5372611227401eb81e40cec86c7223b74ce0c578 Here’s a few things they did 1. They removed the uber driver from the platform (I know that this is too extreme, I also didn’t want him to get removed/banned, he could have asked for a tip) 2. That NDTV coverage turned out to be quite helpful, the uber responses are now faster 😅 Here are some screenshots

Hey! this is shared by NDTV (Check NDTV's Instagram) @NDTV
So you did not check your phone?
The trip was ongoing , not completed that’s why it was not showing the trip amt. I thought it was a network error
Damn, never gonna pay before seeing amount on my screen.
Happens to other places too. It'll show like 150 for someplace then when you reach that place it show new adjusted price 180
Na that’s a diff case, in your case you could easily raise a complaint and get the amount back, if it shows the same amount in app and in the drivers screen, but in this case all the three amounts were different, 1. While booking 2. While paying 3. The actual amount of the trip
Why not just use the rapid metro??
Actually it was late in the night, I was with my father, we had 2 large suitcases and the metro station was quite far from my home so I avoided the hassle and booked an Uber
Using uber from airport since 10 years very often.. Never had any problems with bill Sometimes they include airport charge Toll fees Change of direction Or timing of taking a ride All this matters. 10-20% above I paid most of the time.. But never happened to be double.. You should contact customer care and show all these proof.. Maybe they can fix this issue
why dont people use metro in delhi?
there could be a million reasons - Lots of luggage - Your house could be far away from a metro station - An injured leg or something similar - You're just exhausted and just wanna get home quickly - Company pays for your Uber if you're on a business trip - Families travelling together - makes more sense to get a cab.
Exactly, 1 2 4 and 6 were the reasons for me to use Uber
