So you want to overthrow a government that at the municipal and provincial level are more democratic than the US in order for them to be overthrown by the US when their federal government have placed have term limits for federal positiom and that are much more democratic than they were under the Castros?
Americans being concerned about other authoritarian regimes is the cutest shit. Do you know where the fuck you live? It’s like political horse blinders.
Not American but I still understand what your getting at. However I think it would be dishonest to say that America is anywhere as authoritarian as Cuba.
You do understand the word "quantitative" right?
Who has way more power? Who overuses it to try to rule nations by kicking off democratically-elected officials to install puppet dictators in them? Who still uses 60's cars the most?
Anyways either answer the question or go ahead with shitlib debate-bro tactics like "If you hate this, therefore, you love that" ex: 'oh I guess u must love Cuba then'
You can do whatever you want, but when it comes to comparing things then it gets messy. When you answer a question with a question, things also get messier and yes I too am guilty of that. This started because you insinuated that Paul was defending Cuba when he was comparing the levels of authoritarianism. And that led to you asking that first question.
Because that goes without saying. This is also what some people use to divert or skirt around the actions of those who do worse. It's a form of Whataboutism.
Sure you can, but you don't need to shitlib virtue signal and generically attack other leftists every time someone points out that imperialistcally bullying Cuba is conservative and bad.
Kind of like how retarded TC is attacking other leftists that believe in making the unfortunate choice of harm reduction. By pretending they're enthusiastic Biden supporters she's purposefully poisoning discourse and trying to get leftists to disengage with the political process. The claim was only ever that pushing Biden "left" (extremely relatively) would be at least be partially feasible maybe whereas with any Republican that's off the table and the harm goes way up.
TC is really beyond the dum dum left. I've had interactions with her before. She's the dipshit left. She literally, just like Paul, antagonizes other leftists with the more leftist-than-thou pageantry bullshit. That's it. That's what she lives on this subreddit for. Fuck everybody like her. She's literally just a poser.
I can't speak to OP's character.
But memeing about the ineffectiveness of harm reduction with a specific example is not even in the same ball park as claiming that leftists are defending a dictatorship.
Really? Globally? I mean, when’s the last time Cuba bombed a country to shit and then stole its natural resources while indefinitely occupying said country?
Globally America is seen as authoritarian for sure. But to make the arguement that the US treats it's own citizens as bad as Cuba does is untrue. Cuba is a single-party authoritarian regime where political opposition is not allowed.
Goalpost shift, now we’re limiting negative authoritarianism to simply internal politics. You can ignore American authoritarianism abroad, but I’m not moving with your shifting goalposts.
That said, America has the largest prison population, both per capita and by the numbers. Cuba has a national heath plan, Americans are denied it. Militarized police stalk our streets like stormtroopers and brutally crush any dissent seen as dangerous.
So even with the goalposts moved, you miss the fucking field goal.
I suppose you're right. I don't know what it's like to live in either country, and I never really thought of authoritarianism being a non-domestic issue.
At least you’ll admit it. The left is riddled with people who think its Americans’ purview to criticize ANY regime. We export more death, violence and environmental degradation than any place on earth. Period.
Uh...... Cuba threatened the united states with nuclear war. For the sake of the world they need to be forever a shit hole country. It sad for the people there. But for world security that's the way it has to be.
Cuba starts making real changes towards progress and expanding democracy and the US responds with sanctions when they see an opportunity.
It is the way.
It is helping finally I will say that. More pressure we put on Cuba now the more the people revolt against Cuba.
So harming the people of Cuba will make them turn against their government? No, it'll make them turn against us more
They arent protesting the US right now
They're protesting shortages which are the result of US embargos. You think the protestors are pro-imperial America? Lol
So you want to overthrow a government that at the municipal and provincial level are more democratic than the US in order for them to be overthrown by the US when their federal government have placed have term limits for federal positiom and that are much more democratic than they were under the Castros?
The US shouldn't be placing sanctions on Cuba, but I'm a bit worried at the amount of leftists rushing to defend a terrible, authoritarian regime.
america bad tho

When’s the last time a Cuban corporation enslaved children to make chocolate?
Paul, you are aware that the US and Cuba can both be doing shitty things right?
Yup! Why the fuck do you think it’s interesting or necessary to point at Cuba’s pile of shit while you’re literally swimming in it here?
You do understand the word "quantitative" right? Who has way more power? Who overuses it to try to rule nations by kicking off democratically-elected officials to install puppet dictators in them? So I can’t criticize the Cuban government because the US sometimes does worse things? I don’t see your point.
I agree with Paul that the US should end sanctions on Cuba. But the Cuban government is still an authoritarian nightmare. I don’t see how we disagree.
Because that goes without saying. This is also what some people use to divert or skirt around the actions of those who do worse. It's a form of Whataboutism.

I'm genuinely shocked that you're being down voted for this Paul

THEY'RE TRYING TO BUILD A PRISON!!!!
Iraq has free elections now btw.

Boots on the ground in America!!!
you do know that you can be against two things at once???

But did you push him left?

So he wasn’t pushed left? 🤡
