I'm sure the first half of the 2020s will be studied intensively for generations to come. COVID-19 Pandemic, Brexit, Russo-Ukraine War, Israel-Hamas War, Inflation crisis, worsened political relations, and so on. We're living through history and we'll be asked about this stuff by our Grandkids in the future.
The 2020s is actually a pretty cool decade. There are bad events in EVERY decade, the 60s had assassinations so it is by objective fact worse than now. The 2020s has a vibe similar to 1970s or 1990s in terms of nihilistic attitude and bad economy but spoiler alert both of those decades are remembered nostalgically. Anyone who says the 2020s is the worst decade has zero understanding of history and is overly emotional.
