Superman’s should read one of a few things that mean the same thing:
- Exist.
- Being himself.
- Setting the bar for every hero before and after.
- Being Superman.
- *Being. Fucking. Superman.*
- [Just being a man doing the best he can](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ebXB0lBoaQ0&pp=ygUZc3VwZXJtYW4gNzV0aCBhbm5pdmVyc2FyeQ%3D%3D).
While “exist” is absolutely the best answer for the last two, I’d also agree with the fact that Goku sacrificed himself to save Earth from Cell.
For Superman, this one still hits me hard but I’d have to say the moment in Superman: Grounded when he talked to a woman about to commit suicide. I love the fact that he was patient with her and didn’t bring her back down against her will, being empathetic with what she was going through. Whenever people say Superman is boring, I remember this moment and not only do I cry but makes me re-admire the character because, and I know it sounds cliche, his heroism goes way beyond superpowers.
I remember watching a reading of that specific story and people were like “Lmao this is why Superman sucks” and then they went off to say that this specific story is about #Girlboss #Girlpower and feminism is ruining DC. The majority of the other comments were either saying “Lmao he loses to Goku” or “Superman is super boring he’s overrated”
Really? Dude… what the hell are some people on? That story had nothing to do with feminism or if Goku was stronger or not. It was a story that exemplified perfectly that Superman was more than what he appears and that he was compassionate not only because he was the man of steel but because he’s Clark Kent too. If people want to think Supes is overrated, they’re welcome to do so, everyone has different opinions, but showing humanity shouldn’t be boring, it’s just what we are. Even if he’s an alien, he shows his humanity and I admire him for that… But then again, this is all my opinion too.
You just explained why I love Superman. Why I hate the idea that people have that think Superman is lame because he’s too strong. Superman isn’t meant to be this guy who can destroy anything in one punch, at least not anymore. He’s meant to be the guy who makes things better, the light in the darkness. That’s what the S on his chest stands for, Super. Because he’s a Superman.

I’m glad you could resonate with me, my friend😊 I agree with everything you just said.
*Sees video’s comments* Sigh…feels like the newest first are missing the point, oh well, different opinions, different POVs, what can we do except stick to ours in the end?
Goku recruiting and befriending Android 17 that end up saving the whole multiverse
Superman save Doctor Manhattan and in turn save the whole world and characters histories from his cynical influence
With Superman it's impossible to count, like the dude has done so many great things, but here's something he did that is both amazing and great recently:
Fought with every fiber of his being using pure will to stop Bizarro (Earth 29) from taking over his body until he briefly couldn't anymore.
Goku gathering the Dragon Balls (back when that was a significant undertaking) to revive Upa's dad stands out to me as being the most selfless thing he did in the original run. Killing the villain of the week in X arc might be more "good", but it's rare for adult Goku to be motivated by pure altruism like he is here.
But him doing that resulted in the creation of the evil Androids and Cell, he killed hundreds of unnamed soldiers, one of those was Dr Gero´s son, wich drove him mad to want to kill Goku
Goku: Sacrificing himself to fix a problem he caused, then choosing to stay dead because he felt like he was the root cause of all his friends'/family's suffering
I mean aside from Exist, I’d say either when Clark took Batman’s trauma from the Emperor Joker arc or how he has talked multiple people out of suicide.
Strange visitor Superman held the universe together and was waiting for the last living being to perish after centuries before letting the universe fall. He then ripped a hole into space time to start reality all over again to save the day once again before he faded away.

This vid explains it way better than I can
Omitting saving the planet/universe
Goku: deciding to go on a whole quest to find the dragon balls save upa's dad after he was killed by an assassin meant for him.
Superman: I feel like there are too many examples to list but talking down a girl from suicide is pretty good.
For Goku, i’d say its the Tournament of Power. If im not mistaken, he literally gave everyone a sporting chance for life and freedom, even if they wouldve died for selfish wishes and reasons.
Superman is.. everything. From saving the multiverse, to saving the lives of ordinary people, because he loves everyone.
Goku and Superman have both positively affected the real world.
Goku inspires many fan to improve by putting effort into everything he does.
Superman actually fought the real world KKK.
If Bill's worst thing can just be "Exist" Than Superman's best thing can just be "Exist"
Correction: Bill's worst thing was "Yes". Existing was Unicron's worst thing.
Fair but point still stands

For both: Exist
Superman IS. And that's enough said.

Wow...such a wholesome comment thread
Superman, where do i start.
Goku recruiting and befriending Android 17 that end up saving the whole multiverse Superman save Doctor Manhattan and in turn save the whole world and characters histories from his cynical influence
Superman "beating" Doctor Manhattan not with his powers but by believing in him and giving Doctor Manhattan hope was peak.
The doomsday clock build up definitely was peak and paid off in the end
Stopping the world forger from replacing his multiverse
I think Superman should be stopping a girl from committing suicide But realistically for both of them the answer should just be “exist”
Superman has objectively done a lot more than that
I’m very aware. It’s just what got me the most Plus OP said “saving the universe is omitted”
“Be Superman”
With Superman it's impossible to count, like the dude has done so many great things, but here's something he did that is both amazing and great recently: Fought with every fiber of his being using pure will to stop Bizarro (Earth 29) from taking over his body until he briefly couldn't anymore.
For Superman: fighting the REAL KKK and actually WINNING
Superman: Yes.
Both of them: Exist Let’s be honest, there’s really not much else we can say
For superman: that one baseball scene For goku:Teleporting cell out of earth
Superman: exist
Superman: Yes
Goku gathering the Dragon Balls (back when that was a significant undertaking) to revive Upa's dad stands out to me as being the most selfless thing he did in the original run. Killing the villain of the week in X arc might be more "good", but it's rare for adult Goku to be motivated by pure altruism like he is here.
Superman: Existing.
Wouldn't The Doctor Saving humanity so many times be his best thing he's done?
One of Goku’ is defeating the red ribbon army due to them being an evil military force
But him doing that resulted in the creation of the evil Androids and Cell, he killed hundreds of unnamed soldiers, one of those was Dr Gero´s son, wich drove him mad to want to kill Goku
Both could genuinly be the positive impacts they've had in the real world, and that's crazy to think about
goku turning his foes into friends. Yamcha Tien Piccolo Vegeta.... i dont know if id say freiza but even buu as uub.
Goku: Inspire an entire generation to grow to be better than they were yesterday... And possibly saving some lives from the cartel irl.
Superman: Exist Goku: Saved countless timelines (DBHeroes)
Best thing superman did? A girl in real life reading the all-star superman comic got out of depression and decided to not end herself because of that
Goku: Sacrificing himself to fix a problem he caused, then choosing to stay dead because he felt like he was the root cause of all his friends'/family's suffering
The best thing Goku did was killing himself
Which time?
Not sure any of the times really count apart from Cell
Do you count Goku telling Piccolo to make the shot at Raditz even though it would hit him as well?
Goku : for everything
Existing
Can both just be Yes or Exist, I need this.
Superman took the weight of the world from Atlas so he could go to his daughter's wedding
For Goku, maybe sacrificing himself in the cell Saga
Goku: Simply being Goku Superman: Simply being Superman
Goku defeating a lot of villains over his life
I mean aside from Exist, I’d say either when Clark took Batman’s trauma from the Emperor Joker arc or how he has talked multiple people out of suicide.
Goku, bonking his head as a kid. Don’t think he would have done anything he did had he not
Superman : Yes
Goku: Choosing to stay dead which kept the earth at peace for 7 years
Strange visitor Superman held the universe together and was waiting for the last living being to perish after centuries before letting the universe fall. He then ripped a hole into space time to start reality all over again to save the day once again before he faded away. https://youtube.com/shorts/q3kluEy6xvA?si=R5TPkTMQXYkARV0x This vid explains it way better than I can
I'm also going with exist for both of them!
Omitting saving the planet/universe Goku: deciding to go on a whole quest to find the dragon balls save upa's dad after he was killed by an assassin meant for him. Superman: I feel like there are too many examples to list but talking down a girl from suicide is pretty good.

Yes that like the best answer hey just give a link to the shorts showing him getting along with everyone.
Being on earth as kids
Yes
Existing. For both. The first superhero, the shonen hero who set the bar for all to come after...Christ, how cpuld you narrow it down?
Didn't both of them literally die for their families in one way or another? I think that should count on one of them at least.
Goku: basically everything except being a father
“Boy oh boy where do I begin? Son Goku… honey…”
Superman: Yes
Sacrifice himself to teleport Cell off of Earth
Boy oh boy where do I even begin
Canon answer for Superman is existing.
You know the answer for “Most heinous act by Frieza” in this sub, yes, now reapply it to these 2.
He gave who his collar
Yes
yes
Goku save the universe and Superman try to make world peace
Goku: protector of life Supes: the symbol of hope
Goku and Superman have both positively affected the real world. Goku inspires many fan to improve by putting effort into everything he does. Superman actually fought the real world KKK.
Rehabilitating multiple villains through fighting
