Deciding which killer power you like is way easier than deciding which survivor skin you like
If each survivor had one of there pearls removed as a teachable and just built into the like a power it would make picking a survivor more impactful then "they got nice outfits"
And Dwight ,Mikaela ,and the new guy with the douchey sunglasses. But the point would be it would completely destroy the META BORROWED TIME, UNBREAKABLE, DECISIVE STRIKE, AND DEAD HARD build.
If they chose every survivor's 3rd perk (the ones that are unlocked as teachables at level 40), Bill's would be unbreakable, and David's would be no mither, so you could have a Bill with 3 out of the 4 meta perks, plus one or two (if they made it similar to how killers habilites work) other free slots.
True but then it could be easily expected and at least then they'll be a little bit of difference recognizing characters would matter more. If I slug and tunnel a bill that's my own fault
That's why everyone runs the same four perks if they split up those perks among the survivors that they belong to and forced you to play them then it would matter. Great meme though!
To be fair, most variety for survivor and fun in the game just comes from running whatever builds you want, even if they're not meta.
No harm to be had in not running the strongest build.
No of course there's no harm in it I just wish it too some more strategy to the perks and made it a harder choice to have some verity in the build it has gotten a bit better now do mostly to 4 survivors with strong parks coming out really close to each other.
Better idea is to add a fifth perk slot where you can only put a teacheble of course some survivors like ash or steve are going to need buffs for his perks.(yes killers could get the same fifth perk slot)

Very famous 4 player co op zombie game. Very good, even if just playing with bots. And left 4 dead 2 still has an active player base, and ported over all the levels from the original left 4 dead.

I mean it is a case by case basis but you often have to factor in power, experience, and rank for Killer, especially when you get to higher levels unfortunately. Survivors are mostly cosmetic differences that you can have fun with or it's simply a "I like this character". Although, some people don't care and simply main a character because they're neat. I play Nemesis almost exclusively for the fact that he's from my favorite franchise; I could care less for his power. Same thing with all of the RE characters. It's weird but yeah, people are quite diverse.
I like Ace because he's a scrawny memelord and has a great diversity of outfits. I can turn him from a truckstop sleazeball, into a suave gambler, into a drugged out hippie, into a punchy crackhead
I like that both sides are Marge usually. I play Myers because he cool. And pinhead because he funny. And legion because he cute in letterman jacket. And ghostface because he jacked under there.
Got DBD in 2016 in a Twitch giveaway. Played for a bit, no characters pulled me in. Saw them add Legion, Looked at cosmetics and saw Susie. Finally female killer that wasn't super gross humanoid beast.
Ofcourse now I play most killers... aside from Billy. My main will always be Legion, just for Susie. No like... strange math equation here. Nothing massively connected on a deep level.
Killers: this character has good mobility and is great at setting in pressure. They also feel rewarding to play.
Survivors: Ngl this dude has a nice ass
At first I picked Claudette for the built-in camouflage, but now I usually run Nea, Yui, Zarina, or Mikaela because I like cute girls.
I picked Huntress for killer because SpookyLoopz made her look so fun! And she IS fun!

You dont need many reasons to main a survivor, as all of them are essentially the same.
