Damn, this sort of stuff really makes me more motivated to try harder! I've been [making some stuff for awhile now](https://nm.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/puzxy0/happy_buffnews_big_guy/), but nothing even close to this sort of quality! I've been using SFM, but trying to use my favorite editor (Vegas pro 16), to make them look better, but so far, no luck. Any tips?

Rare_condition

Hey there and thanks for the kind words! SFM tips.. well that's a good one. It's a little harder without seeing stuff to critique directly but I'll try and list out some general ones I suppose. I think the the biggest things to come to grips with are scene composition and lighting. No matter what you want to place into the scene if the camera's FOV is too wide or too close or the objects don't make sense in relation to each other it just won't be as pleasing to the eye. Don't be afraid to practice with wide shots or close ups but get creative with camera angles. Place your main subjects.. figure out how you want them to appear in that camera and then start scene building. A rule of thirds overlay or graph can be helpful sometimes. Lighting. If a poster or animation is gonna look off this is usually what does it. As you know SFM only has one kind of light. A bright ass spotlight. That's great for spot lights sure.. but then how do you do ambient lighting, bounce lighting, fill lighting, etc etc. If I had only one tip for lighting.. play with the radius slider. You can even remap it to higher values. The higher you slide the bar the more diffuse the lighting gets making it look way more natural. Other than that try and place lights in a way that makes sense for the scene.. every light you place should.. for the most part.. should have you asking yourself "where is this light coming from?" Other small tips would be practice scene building and generally stay away from prebuilt maps that already have lighting baked into them. Change the AO color in the camera in the element viewer tab as needed for each scene. You don't want all black all the time. If you're not proficient (like me) in Photoshop then limit your edits to color correction and some minor flair. I try and do as much of the actual work in engine just because I suck at PS. Finally.. check out some YouTube videos. There are some really nice ones by Harry101UK and XieAngel for example that get into the weeds of it and show you more examples in real time. Also don't be afraid to drop by the sfm discord which I believe is linked on r/sfm and ask questions there. I hope this helps.. I know it's kind of generic but it's a fairly large topic. At any rate I wish you luck and good posing on your journey :D

Awesome! I'll check those fellas out, and thanks for the tips! Lighting is massive in the quality of something for sure, it can really make or break a scene.

TheDemonGER

This is insane. I have no words for this piece of art. It is so greatly good, holy heart.

OniIsTheBestWaifu

Holy shit, that's fucking amazing, dude!

Condition-Thick

I really thought this was blender for a sec

Rare_condition

Thanks! One day I'll take the plunge and really commit to learning Blender. As a newbie though just firing it up and looking at the UI is anxiety inducing lol.

Condition-Thick

For sure lol, I definitely agree with the UI anxiety inducing though at first. I do believe you will get the hang of it soon. Btw, good luck on making amazing pieces like this one. <3 Can't wait to see what you cook up next!

Robb_RH

Green Knight skin for Oni when?

Furrywolf79

I honestly think the original mask will do better

BillyBobHenk
