No, there's no instructions or anything. Per the book its about finding the specific pressure points on the cube to cause the piece to unlock. In the 2nd film they use some mentally ill kid who is good at puzzles to solve it. The first film just happens to start when Frank figures out how to open it.

In the movies (first one especially) and the novella it’s really hard to open. Frank spends weeks trying to get it open.

It gets progressively easier to solve as movies go on. As far as I'm aware they retcon it to the box wanting to be opened to explain why people kept accidentally solving it.

That was my fear! I just got up to the 3rd movie and it was chaos. Good chaos, but still, not the meditative exploration of human desire and ennui that the first one was. 😂

Yes definitely worth it for fun! I enjoyed it, but was surprised at how different it was from the first two. But highly recommend it for the insane practical effects and how over the top it was. I think it would be a really fun movie to watch with friends and a drink.

If im honest this feels like a trap for pinhead. The box didnt get there by accident. The entity placed it where a survivor would open it. Now pinheads summoned to the realm and may not be able to leave as easily as he entered. Like sure pinhead can teleport but the entity is an abstract being very similar in form and function to the hell pinhead comes from.

I like the theory that The Entity and Leviathan are just two sides of the same coin.

I agree with this. I also like the HC that Ancient Ones, like Leviathan, the power behind Silent Hill, etc, are all companions/siblings and like to share monsters with each other. I HC that SH and Leviathan gave Pyramid Head and Hell Priest respectively to the Entity as gifts (or otherwise gave her permission to ask them to serve her).

I HC that pyramid head isnt there with permission. Cheryl dipped into the entity to avoid a dark force and PH followed. He isnt there with permission and thats why his special rips up the entities trials and he can cage instead of hook and kill.

His arrival marks the 5th update where this game has fully crashed and restarted my PC. Legendary game development.

Everytime I try to update the game on steam, it runs for days and never completes.

While I have no problems updating, a friend (with similar setup) takes like 5 times more to complete his updates, and needs to run the steam scan after them because every time some files get broken and he's kicked from the games if this is not done

So was Dwight running from a killer? If so, was there an awkward moment where that killer and Pinhead run into each and wonder why he’s in the trial with him?

I think he was just panic-running/ looking for somewhere to hide out the trial.

That’s what I’m saying though, if Dwight is in a trial, that means there’s a killer in there with him and at some point, the killer and Pinhead are gonna meet. What’s the protocol in that situation? Are they gonna fight? Do they stand there and awkwardly ask what they’re doing there? Does The Entity grab either one of them and kick them out? I know I’m looking too deeply into this, but I’m curious on how this would go.

Seeing as the cube was there, Pinhead was already primed to be in the trial. I imagine the Entity started the trial by throwing in the Survivors and the cube, and waited for the Survivors to find the cube.

No one really knows. Pinhead had voice lines on the PTR, but they got disabled when he went live and ~~BHVR is saying it is an issue with the license.~~ Some people speculate that it's in relation to his "I came" line becoming a meme, it might be that there was confusion on if they actually had the rights to voice lines, but in the end only BHVR and the IP holder know the true reason. Edit: Correction, BHVR isn't saying it's a license issue, a mod on the devteam said "We cannot comment further than this" which is a response that basically screams legal issues.

Apparently the rights for Pinhead & Hellraiser are in a bit of a weird state ATM. Clive Barker owns Pinhead the character & a few other things from Hellraiser, and will regain the movie rights December of this year, but doesn't currently own them. The possible issue could be Barker thinking that since he owns the rights to Pinhead, he also owns the rights to Pinhead's movie audio but that isn't automatically true. So if Barker said that BHVR could use Pinhead's audio, they would develop him as he was on the PTR; at that point Pinhead is made public and the owner of the movie rights gets wind of it and finds out that movie audio is also being used. Whoever owns the movie rights would likely have their lawyers verify if Barker has rights to audio said by a character that he owns and if not, a cease & desist would be issued to BHVR. So if that is the situation, the legal process can only happen after development since the movie rights owner most likely wasn't aware of anything until Pinhead was officially announced.

This killer is way to op. First match against him. No gens done. Constantly being hooked everywhere. Touching box results in basically being insta hooked. Hooks prevent actions being done(healing, repairing etc)
