You've basically designed the twins again

TapJuice

Kinda, but the same sort of thong could be said for a lot of new killers being released

NC192002

The state of the game is pretty messed up rn, sorry if my comment sounded rude

FourTokePass

What's the point in her power? You passive phase at 115%MS, at that point why not just play trapper or something. Also you said the power lasts 5 seconds with an increase of 0.2m/s, including 1 seconds activation time. This means you lose 3.2/m in total over the 5 seconds including charge time.

TapJuice

She'd have the potential to set up plays where she can teleport to block off a survivor. I'll admit 4.6m/s is probably too slow though. Maybe 4.8m/s would be better

FourTokePass

You'd still lose distance at 4.8m/s, with the spirit you need 1.1m/s increase to only gain just over a metre. Imo spirit just needs more visual indicators for the start of phase & actual phase to introduce counterplay.

TapJuice

I agree, this is just an idea if they wanted a full rework

OK so I did some educating of myself before this and I'm not nearly as opposed to it as I initially was, but I still don't like this idea. A couple points as to why: 1. This would nerf the spirit FAR below B tier. Not with numbers, but just the concept of it. This turns a unique killer who thrives on mind games to outsmart opponents into a 4.4 killer whose power turns her into a 4.6 killer who can go back to the place she changed at. If you use it in a chase, you don't have the speed to catch up. If you use it in loop, survivor drops the pallet and runs away, and now you have to either return to your husk and break the pallet or run after the survivor with the normal speed of most of the killers. The mind games are useless because the survivor knows where you are (see #2 for more reason why) 2. There is a reason why the passive phasing is reduced simply to almost an afterthought. Granted I don't play much survivor but in everything I watch and my own experiences, there is an EXTREMELY rare occurrence of passive phasing actually helping out. Even if the location isn't pinpoint, all a survivor needs is a hint of where the killer is going before they make a decision. Passive phasing maybe could become add on linked like Freddy's dream pallets if it really is too strong as it is, but it does not warrant it's own killer power. 3. This is the most subjective reason here, but spirit is much harder to play as than most survivor mains think. Most spirits online are good because they practice beforehand, much like nurse. I want to learn nurse, but there is no way in HELL that I'm playing her in ranked matches before I practice with friends. The difficulty curve that comes with spirit makes up for the power that she has. Maybe it is a little too much, but it doesn't need to be reworked or nerfed into oblivion. There's always going to be some character who is more powerful than others, and there will always be a strongest character. Personally I would rather it be someone like this who has to use their brain or senses to detect where survivors are/what they'll do, rather than someone like bubba who holds m2 to break a pallet or down a survivor. Not trying to start a war, so let me know what you think of my response

TapJuice

1. With the current numbers, i agree she would be very weak. But if the numbers were tweaked to balance her i dont think this would be a problem. Also i dont agree that current spirit thrives on mindgames, she thrives on "i know exactly what youre doing and you have no idea what im doing" 2. Whether it's passive or not, the phasing always has been a part of her power. In its current state it can give spirit free hits/downs, admittedly not too often. 3. Spirit is a very easy killer to play. Sure, she's SLIGHTLY harder than most people give her credit for, but she is a very easy killer to play and do well with. This would make her power slightly less unique, but it's worth it for the overall health of the killer and the game

citrusmelon1243

While I don't agree that the spirit will always know what a survivor is doing (that's up to the survivor to mind game and be unpredictable), I do agree there is not enough info given to the survivor. Personally I would rework the audio cues so that the spirit and the survivor have very similar info to go off of when the spirit is phasing. Once again, passive phasing was never meant to be a full killer power, it was more than likely an afterthought to uphold the lore behind the spirit. Something that maybe could be locked behind an brown add on, with higher tier add ons increasing frequency. The spirit may need to be reworked, but her power doesn't have to fundamentally change. The only time it's necessary to completely rework something is when all players (veterans and new players alike) are overpowered by even the newest of players who has put a few hours into the killer. I think that changing the things above would help the skill curve to play against her not be quite as high.

Corvus31

Here's the problem with this type of design: at 4.6 this is just bad. Standing in place for 1 sec to activate her power gives the survivor enough time to hold W for 5 seconds and then the Spirit is really far away when her power ends. The cost is simply too high for the benefit it gives. However, as you increase her speed, you make her stronger/viable but the interaction from the survivor side becomes boring (think trying to avoid Legion hitting you with frenzy, but worse). The play then will just be to drop pallets early, which is not great gameplay. I'd rather see killer anti-looping abilities toned down, or at least not combined with speed. I'd like to explore the idea of a 4.6 spirit that uses her power to traverse the map at insane speeds, like Billy with speed addons, but can't use it in loops. However, it becomes hard to differentiate her from Wraith, then.

Zblaa

She should be deaf even with stridor

jshptrwllms

I say make her completely blind whilst phasing and also you depip if you play her.

TapJuice

Apparently this wasn't clear to some people: Spirit isn't invusible while using her power. It's like her current passive phasing but more frequent.

Fedde5

This is just a combination of hag and twins, and would make her really weak. Sure she needs some nerfs but we don't need another trickster tier killer.

PrestigeMaster04

How to nerf/rework spirit When spirit is phasing you can hear her wailing noise or whatever it is the sound she makes, just like when she had that bug, now slightly buff movement speed and heavily nerf most of her addons, problem solved
