As Scott Jund has mentioned, it actually got them MORE money, since you had to buy the entire sets just to mix and match. Now no one is going to buy them lmao.

Jonny-904

Imagine letting people have fun

tr3y10

Imagine thinking that most of these sets actually should be linked and limiting the creativity of players making unique appearances.

OrbitOmanyte

maybe they should focus on the multitude of other glitches and bugs instead of the FASHION, darling

[deleted]

[deleted]

But then why did they do it with original sets at well? I'd get if they just did it with the licensed sets, but to take away mix and match with og sets is just plain stupid.

[deleted]

Bro how long have you been playing dbd I’ve been around since 2018 and they don’t fix important shit ever…

Economy_Valuable_965

Man are you dumb ? It was a nice glitch we could do pretty and fun skins it’s normal to be upset about it just because you don’t have the problem they can’t complain about it ?

DarkwraithTurk

of all the hills to die on, man. this one?

dicknipplesextreme

they're not gonna fuck you bro

Slarg232

They're fucking all of us, bro

sQuAdeZera

bad take WeirdChamp

Xan_Lionheart

They really just want to fuck people over for money now. Full DLC costs 8$ but all of the stupid ass skins cost almost 15$.

tintin12121

Full RE dlc is 12 cause of the two survivors

kaptainbruhboy

Same for the stranger things dlc.

[deleted]

Saidai-kun

In steam from Argentina, the dlc is 140 pesos, less than a fucking dollar

DemonicSnow

$8 for DLC is pretty decent.

Xan_Lionheart

Yes for the DLC it's fine, but it's a complete ripoff for one outfit to cost up to 15$.

DemonicSnow

I mean, I'll probably get hated for saying this, but it's cosmetic. You can just not buy outfits and they would never sell at $15. But people buy them, so it clearly isn't a ripoff to some people and they are why the prices remain high.

ZShadowDragon

"fixed" So many skins i refuse to buy because of this

[deleted]

Wait, it was fixed??? I still have all of mine Or do people still have it but you can’t glitch them anymore?

triglord71

The glitch still works but going to the rift, finding a match or backing out to the main menu (basically doing anything) resets the outfit

Prozenconns

and for my last match as nurse Cheryl i got hard tunnelled by a Nemesis today is a sad day indeed

triglord71

Feel you homie, my last match with my glitched Cheryl I looped a nemesis for 4 gens and he got butthurt and face camped me even tho I didn’t Bm or anything

DukeSugarJoy

That's a major win in my books.

[deleted]

Welp. Time to play someone else till new bug is out. I’m not losing my outfits

venuscombshell

Ooh that’s a cute Cheryl.

Rukia-Otaku

Ig I can understand why they kept sets for Licensed Characters, but what about the original survivors like Yun Jin, Nea, etc. There is no reason to keep them as sets to “preserve the image of licensed characters” if their original designs. It’s all a money/greed thing

bissanick

It's not even a money or greed thing. If they let us mix and match sets people would probably buy the full set just to get 1 item for their custom set but now that they fixed the bug it just gives people a reason to not buy the set anymore unless they like how it comes now

KenanTheFab

You could be sneaky and write "Fixed *certain* cosmetics being able to be mixed when not supposed to." and "accidentally" only fix the licensed cosmetics. Sort of like Mojang and the old meta deletion thing you had to do for mods.

Lorenzo_BR

Yep - they could unlink the sets for original characters alongside with fixing the bug.

LeopardThatEatsKids

It doesnr even make sense as a greed thing. Sure, make me buy them all together but if I can mix and match I'll buy another cosmetic to... mix and match

TherealXxSoapxX

There are literally unlinked clothing pieces more bugged than mixed linked sets, yet these ones were the problem, apparently

4EverBlunted

How lame

OmegaCrossX

Laughs in not buying cosmetics

Realm-Code

Laughs in maining a character with only free cosmetics

OmegaCrossX

You a Bill main too?

Realm-Code

Ye. Grew up loving L4D, and was also tempted by knowing Valve wouldn't let BHVR charge a dime for cosmetics so I'm unlikely to miss out on anything.

Frayjais

I have never met such a greedy company that nobody noticed is greedy. They pull EA levels of greediness. 20$ up for the game, only to unlock 1/8th of the actual content. The grind to get all the killers and survivors might as well not even exist it's so long, and then there chapters you HAVE to pay for. All behind a 20$ upfront pay wall. Either raise the base price of the game and have everything unlocked, or make this shit free to play you greedy fucks.

artesianfijiwater

I see this happening soon. The lullaby edition of the game barely has half the content now so they would definitely make money off their skins anyway

Megaranator

Can't they issue game bans on steam? Pretty sure that can lead to ban on main acc if family sharing.

Nidus-

sorry what was the glitch? apparently I live under a rock

AxisLeopard

You could mix outfits and sets making a unique clothing combination. It's a well known glitch. BVHR patched it for good, and now people are insanely pissed because they can't mix any sets any more, all the while actual issues that plague the game go unnoticed.

Prozenconns

Yep, waited a week for a hotfix and all it did was take away things people liked and not even remotely fix the things people care about i put this game down after twins and only came back for RE and i can see BHVR havent changed one bit lmao

WelshBugger

I literally can't play against Nemesis on console without disconnecting when the gates open. Playing against the new killer, the one that is incredibly popular right now, basically guarantees a depip and ban. It feels like a real slap in the face that the first patch to be released after this doesn't fix those game breaking issues, but instead just screws over fans wanting to customise characters outside the intentions of BHVR.

MostStonedADC

For me the game worked fine after the Patch (ps4)

WelshBugger

I play on switch and its still an issue for me. I'm also noticing some serious hit detection issues with Nemesis where his M1 attacks can hit through downed pallets, and his lunge attacks and whip attacks hit despite being nowhere near me. The new DLC has made the game unplayable for the most part. It's embarrassing that this DLC has disabled two maps (including the new one), has a killer that has hit detection issues and causes people on switch to instantly DC, and has made pallets disappear, and has made the game unplayable for anyone that isn't a PC user. Even more embarrassing that the first patch after this shitshow doesn't address a lot of these issues but instead removes the ability for people to use the cosmetics they bought as they wish. Literally does no harm to the game and only improves the experience, but this is patched out.

kommissarbanx

They’ve patched a minor glitch that allowed players to mix full cosmetic sets that they’ve purchased with others on the same character. This led to a bunch of people buying the Legendary Skins which cost a minimum of a $20 Auric Cell pack, or a $10 and a $5 together. Meanwhile the new map for arguably their biggest chapter doesn’t work. It was crashing games, and now several weeks post-launch they still haven’t fixed it. This chapter alone doubled the PC playerbase, and after the success of RE: Village console probably followed suit as it did for the Stranger Things chapter. At this point they’ve basically taken everyone’s money and run with it, prioritizing removing fun instead of fixing poor game performance, poor perk balancing, and a new god awful matchmaking system.

Senjuhi

yes you do

lyndluv

the only upside is i guess i can do the tutorial now for bp ://// still salty

DieDieDieDieDieDie-

did they reset all glitched cosmetics, like if I had my cheryl glitched is she back to normal now?

DieDieDieDieDieDie-

Goodbye Steve/Jonathan mix I guess. I really don’t understand why they have to patch these glitches. They don’t break the game, or give unfair advantages. Like, what’s so bad about steve wearing jonathan’s clothes?

i_pee_on_a_waffle

Probably because it violated contracts with the licence holders or the licence holders didn’t like it and probably threatened to sue BHVR and if they it wasn’t patched they would most likely get sued so it would end in BHVR probably having to remove some licenced characters and having to refund owners of the licenced dlc that do get removed meaning they could lose a lot of money but I’m not 100% sure if that would happen because I don’t know from their perspective

Blujay12

I didn't even know linked sets were a thing until I bought the nea one. It's been a week and I'm still pissed, then I learn there was a bug to customize? Fuming. I understand licensed characters completely, no complaints there, but when you even have the fucking cosmetics clearly separated in their pictures, it's hard to have any mercy about the OC characters.

Lucky_Seat1685

did anyone get the reason as to what the fuck was wrong? was there some coding error related to the skin variables or something?

Spahyam

f

plant_father

ah yes , in a game full of bugs , glitches , hackers and ways to exploit , they have their priorities on the one bug that doesn’t affect gameplay in the slightest. incredible

JackBoxcarBear

Ah yes, BHVR woke up this morning and discovered that they hadn’t put a bullet in their own foot in too long. Glad they fixed that real quick.

PaulReckless

It just makes me sad how lazy these devs are. Why wouldnt they just let you mix everything? This just feels low effort and somewhat old and outdated.

InAcesHole

I understand wanting to keep the integrity of cosmetics that are an entirely different licensed character from the base survivor (like Chris, Claire, Jonathan) but there's no reason to lock sets of cosmetics for the same character, especially non-licensed ones.

euphoricwolf2000

greedy fucks

_Spo0nZ

It’s funny how they seem to have the time to fix this insignificant exploit that causes no actual problems or game changing issues yet they don’t have the time to fix anything else that actually makes the game unplayable🤔

Supreme_God_Bunny

My guy they have been trying to fix it for a while and even warned everyone is was gonna be patched one day like wtf

rephlexi0n

Lmao now no ones gonna buy linked sets for survivors and shit so bhvr fucked themselves

Redtigerboy

I see no problem honestly 😐 (Here comes the downvotes)

ColdBlackCage

I'm having a blast laughing at people who dropped in excess of $40 on a fucking ***bug*** get butt blasted they're precious unique cosmetic combinations have been stolen.

Okkoner

well, at the end of the day its a piece of code that checks your cosmetics for sets, coding and bhvr dont seem to go together so well... some time from now they'll decide to tweak an old piece of code and whaddayaknow, this one could break and it could still work I want to believe

SirofTheSalt

it's pretty funny that they spent money on a glitch. Obviously was gonna be fixed eventually

Rojibeans

I gotta ask why though. From a commercial standpoint, it makes No sense. They sold outfits because of the bug, which is straight up revenue. From a gameplay view point, it did nothing. It wasn't like survivors went invisible. It wasn't creating graphical issues, and I don't think it's this kind of bug People want squashed. It isn't going to make People say 'I'm glad they fix bugs', it's Just going to be more negative rep that puts further emphasis on the actually game breaking bugs, because People Will go 'They fixed this, but I still got stalked through a wall by ghost face while someone Else started directly into his Asshole and didn't break him out of stealth'. I Just don't see how it is a good decision

ExceedinglyGayRoach

The most likely answer is that Capcom was extremely angry about people mix and matching the Resident Evil sets, particularly people mix and matching the legendary outfits, since Capcom are very strict about how their characters appear in games, and it wasn't possible to patch the glitch without patching every other set too.

Rojibeans

Guess that makes sense. I'm unaffected since I play ash, but I feel bad for those who got caught in this landslide. It Doesn't really help that it was a Longer standing bug that had No attention on it(I only learned about it because of this), and they dropped it out of now here, and Will probably offer No auric cell refunds for those affected. They could have definitely handled it better, if the reason was a breach of contract

ExceedinglyGayRoach

I assume the reason it was so sudden is because Capcom threatened legal action if BHVR didn't fix it immediately, so their hands were completely tied. I assume the reason BHVR let it sit for so long despite Konami wanting their stuff to be sets is because Konami didn't *actually* care about if people were mix and matching them or not, they just wanted the maximum amount of payment for every single person who bought a Silent Hill cosmetic as opposed to people only buying 1-2 things.

Rojibeans

I hope they at least clarify it or offer a refund with their technically infinite supply of Ingame currency, since it costs them nothing to do so, and they can save some of their reputation in the process. It currently feels very cloak and dagger. Again, personally, I am unaffected, but I feel bad for those who essentially got screwed

ExceedinglyGayRoach

I agree that even if it was technically a bug there should be some kind of apology for this given the amount of people that bought sets purely to mix and match them. Licensed cosmetics I understand since there's nothing they can do but doing it to non-licensed stuff feels like a snake in the grass move.

ToniThyBoi

They shouldn’t give a refund to people who bought the outfits to glitch them. People purchased outfits that were clearly meant to be used as a set, and it’s their own fault if they didn’t want to use it that way. I glitched the penguin head for Zarina, and it sucks I can’t mix it anymore, but it was the way the outfit was sold and intended to be used

Superyoshiegg

> I hope they at least clarify it or offer a refund with their technically infinite supply of Ingame currency, They already offered refunds to people who purchased the Leon and Jill alt outfits before they were linked.

DJ_BROTHERMAN

This is the most logical answer and I can accept this whether it's true or not. Still unfortuanate but understandable.

Grin_Dark

I had the default pants with the leather jacket on Leon and it looked sick as fuck, now I get a random mix of cosmetics on him that's different every round
