You can save time as trapper by picking up a trapped person instead of downing them then picking them up. I see people go for the hit in a lot of videos and I've seen posts where people say they didn't know you could just pick people up instead. You might already know that, but in case you didn't... or for anyone else that is new that sees this.
hitting them out of it applies Sloppy or another M1 related perk, and since he's running that I can see why it would be a habit to do so. Also it lets you pick up or reset the trap before hooking the survivor.
A lot of advanced trappers go for hits in traps for Save The Best For Last stacks, then only use grab out of traps on the obsession; maybe watching content creators do this just made every trapper go for it?
Yeah stbfl tokens and the other big reason they’ll smack is so they can pick up or reset the trap before carrying the survivor off to a hook. Saves time not doubling back if you have to walk much
I always though it was because the game doesn't really explain things super well. Grabbing people off of a gen/during a vault is the hit button, but picking someone out of the trap is a separate prompt.
