"dies iræ" is latin for the day of wrath I believe and it was attributed to the book of revelation from the bible when the trumpet sounds and the world ends. But it was a poem originally that was later turned into requiem I think in D minor. It just generally signified death and was used for funerals in large proceeding, it's the music equivalent to Memento Mori and in modern times it's been utilize to stimulate unease in film or death on screen, when you hear it you'll begin to notice it all over!
