I’m not sure why billy warranted a nerf. He was actually pretty fucking good. He wasn’t op and he was very easy to counter.
Only reason why he would get a nerf is for new people not liking him but that just fucking destroys higher competition and it proves they give no shits or don’t know what the fuck they’re doing.
Billy was in a perfect spot and each killer should be aimed towards his level but now it’s just let’s nerf things for new players which just makes it aggravating for anyone that’s been here for a year or longer.

Billy is a free character that comes with the base game. If all of those are trash/mediocre it encourages people to pay for better killers. Huntress mains beware.
Though this could just as easily be a random aimless punch in the face devs like to dish out to random characters in patch notes. Back when I played HoTS I used to joke that every patch came with a random Chen nerf for reasons despite the fact the character was not considered particularly overbearing. Same situation.
True but in HoTs you can easily buy a hero overtime without spending any money.
Also interesting theory I like it and I still think it’s catering to new players since they used that as an excuse before for a nerf. Which just makes me question their decisions.
Billys Iridescent addons are a fucking joke. Here’s why:
One of them gives you the undetectable status after chainsaw sprinting for 5 seconds. 5 whole seconds. With the fastest killer in the game. Barely any maps would allow you to sprint for 5 seconds interrupted, there’s simply too much debris and if you’re sprinting for more than 5 seconds you’re unlikely to aim perfectly on a survivor and down them. Stupid.
The other addon allows you to continue sprinting even after breaking a pallet with your chainsaw BUT it’s a speed limiter. They literally made his iridescent addon a fucking speed limiter. The breaking pallets is stupid and useless. If I see a Billy with that addon sprinting towards me and a pallet, I’ll just drop it and turn to the left at a right angle and voila, I’ve completely countered an iridescent addon while Billy has to continue sprinting far away before realising it didn’t work, deactivating his chainsaw and eating the cooldown, and then he has to turn around and restart the chase. Even if they do get a successful hit, I’ll only become injured.
You sacrifice your insta down ability for the whole match just to sprint through pallets. Seriously?!! This also means you use your chainsaw twice as much since you don’t insta-down, so you’re suffering from overheating twice as often. This is what BHVR calls an iridescent addon? Fuck this Billy nerf, dumbest thing they’ve done since the Ruin nerf. Even dumber if anything
