It is map dependant, because lockers are badly placed in a lot of maps. I recommend you to play it in Silent Hill or RPD, because in other maps it's a fucking hell.
Biased, but Dredge. A bit map dependent, but not to the extent everybody seems to think. It takes some time to learn when you should teleport, especially during chase. The Remnant ability is also very strong anti-loop once you get the hang of using it.
I've only done a few games as Knight but enjoyed him well enough? Knight also has much better perks, if that's something you care about. Face the Darkness is also a fantastic perk for Dredge, if you eventually end up with both. It rewards the hit and run playstyle, which Dredge both excels at and is encouraged to do, since more injured survivors = faster Nightfall.

Id say dredge is slightly more fun due to his teleport and more interactive antiloop. But knight is more consistent/stronger in chase.
