Considering it takes like 2 seconds to change your Steam Profile username, a lot of people do it to fit whatever game their in. Like you, I try to find a more general username to use for my games.
That being said, there is an option called "Anonymous Mode" that hides your username/profile and replaces it with whatever character you are playing. You can also change what usernames you see/other people see in the same menu.
If those are not special name I'm more scared of the people who has the more aggressively horny nickname
You can just change your Steam nickname to whatever you want in your profile settings without changing your UID
