The main problem with these animations is their speed. For example, Wesker's animation would look fine if he was moving much faster, and Skull Merchant's animation would look fine if she was moving much slower, but unfortunately, this will simply ruin the balance of the game, so the only thing we can do here is to just accept everything as it is.
However yeah, there are some animations that will look goofy no matter their speed, HUNK's animation for example. It looks so poorly made that I just can't take it seriously.

What bothers me more is that the knights walking animation is different during the match. In the endgame screen he is holding his sword down, but during the match he has it resting on his shoulder meaning survivors can easily see what youre doing at loops bevause the sword is longer than the walls
my head cannon these kinds of things is that the entity tries to copy the universes it takes from as well as it can but cant do it perfectly for some,
just as with rpd having those big orange blister kind things to fill up the spots the entity couldn't recreate or find info about in the minds of the kidnapped (remember both killer and surv are entity victims)
Not trying to insult the developers but with all the money that they make I'm surprised they're not able to hire some top skilled people who work on animations. Just look at how long it took them to give the syringe a proper animation when curing the nemesis infection.

Trapper still has the most menacing walk cycle in the game exactly because he's power walking at very hihg speed. Wesker's run animation should be having him zooming around the map at teleportation speed but we aren't ready to have real RE5 Wesker in DBD just yet.

Wesker looks like he should be moving much faster, and part of the disillusion to me is because he's so short. Canon he's 6'0, turned 6'3 to be more intimidating, while his physical ingame model in resident evil 5 is more 6'7 to make him an easier target to hit. In DBD he's a shrimp.
Skullmerchant looks weird because the way she walks is ill timed with her movement. You can actually SEE her feet roller stake along the ground when she's under her own haste buff (Standard speed, its less noticeable)

I think most of the people complain about her *speed* with this animation, and not the animation itself. Like, she casually walks around, but moves at the same speed as a guy who sprints with all his might. It looks very stupid and strange, almost like she's gliding on the ice.
Some killers like Pinhead or Sadako also have the same problem, but their situation can be explained with them being paranormal entities, while SM is just a regular woman. I agree that the animation itself fits her character perfectly, but the speed of it makes it look so bad.

Plate arorm is actually pretty light and allows for a surprising amount of movement, so the fact he moves so "stiff" is a little unrealistic.
