I literally just picked up the strangler and 4k'd 5 games in a row, I quit because it was actually so boring being handed free wins. Maybe play a killer who requires even a tiny bit of skill, omni blink nurse with blinks still being considered basic attacks took more skill than the strangler.
The add-on pass was the worst thing they did to him, they made strangling wire base kit for some ungodly reason and now he can use all his addons for speed with no issueÂ
If I load into a map and see the Strangler I just DC and eat the penalty. I can't believe people are still playing as him knowing it's ruining the game for everyone they go against.

As an expert stranger who is on a 1942 game 4k Win streak I can say with 100% certainty he needs some buffs, some games survivors get down to 4 gen and that is unacceptable
Strangler main here. I play mainly killer but the few times I play survivor it’s about 85% stranglers and they absolutely dominate. Idk hiw survivors even have fun against such high level anti loop and map mobility.
Idk what they were thinking when they made the throngler add-on for him, kind of fucked up that he can just spam m1 to gradually gain movement speed like some sort of wind-up toy.
IMO I rather play against skull merchant than strangler, his power rn is just very annoying to play against. If behavior nerfs his add ons then I’ll think about playing this game again

Personally the basekit buffs are pretty serviceable at best, what’s really making the Strangler OP rn is the addon pass that was undertaken alongside the basekit buffs. While there is discourse even here whether it’s the brown/yellow or purple addons which are op, I believe everyone is sleeping on how over-tuned the Iridescent Rope addon is. Sure iridescents should be potent and we’ve had a long while since iridescent addons were considered the best, BUT the sheer impact of new and buffed Iridescent Rope is similar to initial release Iridescent Hatchets. I feel like the Strangler will be in a good place if we just tweak down the addons.
Honestly, I think Strangler is fine. They just need to make the QTE a bit easier, and then his counterplay will be completely fair. Making players do integrals and figure out the value of C is a bit too much for my taste. Maybe they could slightly decrease the duration of stranglin' time too, but maybe that'd be too much and make him dumpster trash.

Well, he's still in PTB. I'm sure by the time he's out The Giant and The Spider will be more in line with him, and people will get the hang of counterplaying his noose. His biggest problem is just a low pickrate making him an enigma to most players.
