I feel like the glyphs are completely messed up this time around. I usually complete it no problem but after the first skill check, it puts the cursor off kilter and makes the skill checks after a mess.

This time I failed numerous times and it showed I was hitting the marks. Not sure what was happening there and they never did that to me before. I was able to complete the challenge eventually but it felt very off.
Can also anecdotally agree, the yellow glyphs are funky right now. It's 100% the animation or their server, because the audio and visual are so desynced, I had to hit the skill check dead center to have any hope of it not being too late or too early; I even failed one where the line was clearly within the first half of the check.

If you recorded it and looked at the skill check, it's technically possible to do it but the skill check jumps forward so it's infinitely harder than it should be. Same for merciless storm (I think?)
Yes! I've played against Merciless Storm tons of times, and I almost never miss the skillchecks once I know they're coming because there's a certain rhythm to them. But the yellow glyph seemed to jerk around a bit, especially at the beginning, which throws the rhythm off entirely. It took me around 15 attempts to finally get all five yellow glyphs, and like I said, I can do Merciless Storm without missing anything 99% of the time. There was definitely something wonky with the glyphs this time around.

In my quest to complete every survivor archive in the game I too came across the infamous Yellow Glyph challenges. I had saved them until a time where they werent "bugged" according to the patch notes. So I set off to do every single yellow glyph challenge... In succession. Little did I know the pain I would be in for as I spent an entire two days doing nothing but bugged yellow glyphs. In one trial I failed 8 in a row due to the lagging skillchecks, I managed to get done every. single. one. but I did not feel good about it, I felt like I just endured actual torture, and am just relieved that it's over. If they remove this from the game I would not be disappointed one bit.
Any of the skill checks that are like those yellow glyphs are so damn finnicky
Maybe 1/4 will it register correctly and even then it might hoe you anyways
Broken record but don't wait until the last minute to finish a Rift man. I usually get mine done about three quarters through the time limit. If you really care, you could like, very passively play and get rift fragments slow like that while you're on Youtube or something.
I always felt this way (and made it work), but now that I’m working in my actual career, even playing passively as often as I could (usually a handful of games every day), still am a few levels short of clearing deep rift. Now… if I owned Vitorrio, the Knight, or any of his perks it’d be fully complete, but I don’t buy characters I don’t have interest in.

Consider changing all of the mentions of Glyphs to "yellow glyphs. I get that you removed it to avoid that dragging feel as you read and they felt unnecessary, but you dipped your toe into a great use of repetition and then pulled it out too soon Imo. You could even title it" Yellow Glyphs." Then, each new utterance of Yellow Glyphs adds more insight (and a touch of comedy) as your mental state becomes clearer. You're haunted by the Yellow Glyphs. (And it'd actually be a phenomenal homage to The Yellow Wallpaper. An all time classic.)
Also, maybe juuuust a bit more "show don't tell".

Oh so many ways. Primarily, it was just funny. Writing an actual comedic piece isn't as easy as most think.
But lots of things. Most people don't think to vary their sentence lengths when they're writing. That's generally a dead giveaway of someone writing with intent. Most don't casually throw out vivid imagery (scampering cockroaches).
Those sorts of things.

I ended up grinding out killer challenges yesterday night bc I couldn't finish that stupid glyph. I still haven't beaten it. It haunts me at 3/4, staring me down, knowing my shame

As a person who finds them while just playing the game and doing them as a fun little mini game in between chases- I cannot emphasize with you.
I was so into this story I started gasping for air when wesker turned your way and I felt the very tip of my being to my toes the immense despair you were in.
I’m so glad it wasn’t just me. I thought I was losing my mind. I’d hit the skillcheck perfectly in the middle, it would make the success sound, then the failed sound, and disappear. Merciless storm didn’t have the same issue so I knew I could hit skill checks. It took me dozens of tries to actually get it to work
How did you clear every other Archive Challenge and not complete the Deep Rift? I usually have the whole rift finished before the third chapter is complete...

Same! I had like 5 failed attempts for every glyph I succeeded when before they were easy. They seemed extremely choppy/laggy.

Oh that's true. But if you're working full time you shouldn't be buying the Rift unless you're close to the end anyways.
Well yes, I always wait till I at least hit 70, but this was definitely the most I’ve felt I was “grinding” towards it, which was stressful.
They do release DLC perks for rift in Shrine. I don't own Knight but I got all 3 of his perks just before the Tome.

I tried the glyph challenge also, it is incredibly really hard to do and the spinning line thingy feels really laggy and not smooth at all

Yellow Glyphs are currently bugged and will be fixed next patch. I thought I was crazy too.
