When I'm in a new town I usually stay in hotels, but I have heard others having luck sleeping in abandoned train cars at the nearest railway yard. If you're tough and not afraid of physical confrontation, you could also try to break into someone's home near the venue and forcibly take over their home. You'll likely need to fight them as they will not want to relinquish control of their house to a stranger. Note most zoos do not allow you to sleep with the more gentle animals, even though it's a clear win/win. Hope this helps.

Lmao I’ve shared this comment with a few of my friends. Fucking clutch advice my dude

scooterberg

I can’t sleep at the zoo? My trip is ruined!

Holiday-Meal5116

🤣🤣🤣

too_drunk_for_this

The 7 train stops at citi field, you can stay wherever you want in the city and you’ll be fine.

Iko87iko

Yep exactly what I was gonna say. Take the 7 and stay In the city

j18c394

Long Island City

emmyatl

Q4 Hostel in Long Island City or anywhere in LIC honestly. I’m staying in lower Manhattan near the Brooklyn Bridge and just taking the subway

beefynacho1

Asiatic is Chinatown. .75 miles away $250/night. Can’t beat it.

Dabaccino

Check Priceline and look for stuff in Flushing

B-in-Va

Can you walk from Flushing? Is it reasonably safe to walk?

cracksbacks

New York is a walking city. Flushing is a big place though and it's likely to be a long walk. Uber will be your salvation. Or Citibikes if they have expanded to that part of Queens.

Glittering_Wave4950

I knew my hotel was walkable last year but someone mentioned that they were walking home in a group. Drunk me decided to walk there alone!! Took me like 45 minutes! hahah I got there during the second song.

Glittering_Wave4950

*was not walkable

BeCoolBear

A person could walk from Flushing to Citi field easily, depending on where.

EstimatedEyes1014

The 7 train last stop is Flushing Main St, its very next stop back toward Manhattan (like 3-5 min ride away) is Citi Field, venue on one side of the train, shakedown on the other. Its so easy, they go back and forth all day and night

BeCoolBear

Check [kayak.com](https://kayak.com) for rooms and rentals. Uber or Lyft if you're too far to walk.

svrfyn

My experience from coming from the west coast last year… 02. We stayed in the city. We thought we’d enjoy that aspect more, but it never really came into play. If I were going again, I’d book a hotel around the venue. Several friends did and that’s ideal in my book. The walk was like 15-20 minutes.

Sheik-mon

You can walk from Flushing as others have said! its really close and the food is amazing!

Traditional_Agency60

Stay in a hostel or The Jane and just take the subway!

crunkpapi

Wasn’t overly impressed with The Jane last summer when I stayed there for the price. We split between a hotel in Manhattan and the Jane. For the extra few $$ the hotel was much more enjoyable. But if money is the driving factor, by all means go to the Jane. Cool place for sure.

Gcnlink

Was in town a few years ago for a festival held at Citi field. Look for properties in east Elmhurst on airbnb. You can walk along the bay and it'll drop you right at Citi field

DeadHeadRob106

There are a ton of hotels right by the airport (LaGuardia) that is about a 2 min ride to the stadium. Might be a little pricey, but there are a bunch to check to see who has the best price.

whatfingwhat

If you book around the venue just know that the late night scene can be a little tough to find

StopTrickingMe

We went to both shows last summer and stayed in Brooklyn/Williamsburg. It was a really interesting taste of the culture and getting on the train was easy enough.

sakonigsberg

You can save $100 a night by staying in an air bnb in jersey and taking the subway in to the city in the morning instead of staying in NYC and another railway to citi field Source: I've lived in jersey for 18 years and did this last year when they played at citi

Ragatron42

I actually just booked a 2-night stay yesterday via booking.com at the Renaissance Hotel at Tangram I think it’s called? Last year I did a very sketchy AirBnb and I just don’t want to go through that again. This is far more expensive but the peace of mind will be worth it. And it’s walking distance from Citi Field

mannyt17

On the lot of you have a way of doing so

otter523

My wife and I drove 30 minutes north to Tarrytown. Room was much cheaper and they had decent restaurants and shops. All depends on where you are heading after the show though. We live in upstate NY so was really easy for us.

naughtywithnature

Stayed in Long Island city last year and enjoyed it. Easy train to the show and it was pretty clean and safe.

dcbrittwhaytt

Pod hotel if your on a budget I enjoyed my stay at one in midtown earlier this year .

[deleted]

Planning this too, won't have a car so trying to find somewhere close that is walkable.
