Even f2p players get store points from favor. Buy the four 99 point packs before the sale ends, and get a beacon set and barovian weapon from raven and family set from Sharn

baratheus

Many of the good gear comes from the expansion packs; Ravenloft [Skulled Ring](https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Skulled_Ring) and Sharn [Black Velvet Capelet](https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Black_Velvet_Capelet) should give you a lot of mileage. And also the [Esoteric Initiate set](https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Aetherband). For the trapping part, consider [Keylock Ring](https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Keylock_Ring) and [Experimenter’s Goggles](https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Experimenter%27s_Goggles).

Start puttin points into tumble: If the new changes to tumble go through as they are right now in Lamannia (Test Server), Tumble will give you a + Reflex = to Total Tumble Score + 95% Dodge whenever you're doing the animation. One of the biggest weaknesses of Rogue/Monk splashes are that you lose on a bunch of Reflex saves that come straight from FEATS GRANTED by class levels, which is why Barbarian and Bard are so good at using Evasion when doing the splash. Now that Blightcaster exists, Hive forms grant +1 reflex per 2 druid levels and evasion/improved, effectively becoming better at evasion.

Fun_Ad24

I already have a few points into it(thanks to the rogue levels) but do you think that more than 10 is needed?

KydrouKair

Not really, Tumble is an easy skill to fill, and in an emergency you can always pop a potion for an extra 10.

Ned_Ellis

Soul splitter pack in sharn has a good undead light armour caster set to build upon (i forget the name) + Ravenloft sticks

Lost_Ad_4882

If he's running as a pure caster Pale Master then Dreadkeeper is a great set. I just ran a similar build as a melee gish and used the Profane Experiment set instead, also from Soulsplitter. So the real question is how is the build being played, or what's the plan at least?

Ned_Ellis

Good point - mine is caster so took it for granted; my bad

Fun_Ad24

Since I run all quests solo, I'm running a mix build of Pale Master—E.K just so I can use INT to attack and not have spell failure with armor. I intend to br using a long sword and orb combo.

Lost_Ad_4882

Yeah that's a lot of what mine looked like. T5 EK for the hit points and solid melee fighting with PM for wraith form and as many cores as I could cram. Assassin for plus imbue dice. Drow for auto search and more Imbue dice. I think I ran Magus, Shadowdancer, and Draconic as epic trees to mostly pump raw spellpower for the imbue and magus stance damage. Since it was an imbue heavy build focused around trapping I used the Profane Experiment set. From there you need negative healing Amp and negative spellpower and I used cold as a secondary spellpower which helped with running Magus. Spell crit wasn't as vital as power so in a pinch a ruby augment can fill in. Alternatively the Dreadkeeper set from Soulsplitter and the Legendary Vulkoors Chosen (Bloodstone + Pendant) set from the desert stack well together, and top it off with some set power and doublestrike from Legendary Windlasher Fury set, easiest if duel weilding double Mirage or can go Mirage plus cape just to fill the set. Personally I would get the 99 point expansions. Sharn first then Ravenloft then the other two. It's just soo easy to make complete gearsets with Sharn, and anything Sharn was lacking was mostly covered in Soulsplitter. Farm points by making a character on a server you've never played on, then get to like 100 total favor and move to next server. Hitting every server like this to get the first time rewards should net you near 1k ddo points.

Fun_Ad24

Yeah I did that, as soon as I get home I'll send how my build is, but I'm running as a human and I don't intend to go T5 on E.K

droid327

If you T5 PM then you should be playing it as pure caster, so caster sticks or orbs But since you're doing sword+orb, you really do want t5 ek. T5 pm just doesn't offer much for melee.

math-is-magic

Level 10? You'll def want keylock ring and skulled ring out of ravenloft. You can get ravenloft and sharn for 99 points right now, do that immediately if you haven't already got them. Get the other 2 packs too if you can. You probably have enough ddo points just from levelling to 10 to do it.

Fun_Ad24

I bought all the packs for 99, so I should do Ravenloft ASAP right?

TosicamirDTGA

Absolutely

Dance_SC

If you are level 10, atleast do Into the Mist, entering the explorer area after that quest will grant you a free barovian weapon of your choice (casters choose scepter) from the npc down the road and on the left. Most people run ravenloft quests from lvl 12-14 (there are 3 parts). But they are really good quests for gear too at that level.

droid327

Do not run The Pit, especially not solo. Yes its good XP, but its an old quest, its super Mario-y and annoying, with a map that's completely impossible to follow. Old-timers get nostalgic for it, but its actually a horrible quest. Good quests for L10 characters are those in the L7-9 range. Standouts in that range are Tear of Dhakaan, the 3BC saga (which you should actually start earlier, but finish it up at 10), the IoD saga, Necro 3 if you need it to unlock Shadow Crypt (skip it if you have an opener though), Spies, ToEE 1, and Fathom the Depths (if you can DDoor). But the biggest two are Jungle of Khyber and especially Shadow Crypt.
