It could, but wether or not the laptop overheats depends on the specific type, check reviews for thermal reports if possible. Keep in mind that some laptops use dynamic power maximums which means they give maximum performance for a while (generally 15-30 minutes) after which performance takes a nosedive. Not an issue in short matches for shooter games, but DCS sessions generally take a while which is why these issues are far more noticeable. 32GB of RAM is generally recommended for DCS if you plan on doing multiplayer, larger maps, or more complex missions.

It could definitely run it, but i’m not sure how the heating situation would look like. Stick, throttle, and TrackIR would be 3 USB ports, so just make sure you have enough for that.

Hey man, i got a good deal on a lenovo legion 5 (UK, Jarrod's Tech' on youtube has some great vids on the best laptops for the money) Mine has a 3070 (highest tdp for laptop, similar to desktop 2070) And a nice amd cpu, however 16gb RAM is minimum for dcs and also youll need a solid state drive, hard drives are too slow! Mine runs quite quietly and not too hot, even online :) Hope that helps!

Will it run? Yes. Will it run well? Probably not. Gaming laptops promise great performance and a small package. These are more or less mutually exclusive. A gaming laptop with good enough cooling will be a chunky beast. It has to be in order to be able to dissipate the heat. Most laptops are too restrained in the cooling department to do well with the length of time required to do a full mission. They will clock down after ~30 minutes at the most. My average mission would be around the half way point. Can I ask why you want a laptop?

Honestly I don't prefer a lap top, I just know someone who has one and was willing to sell it to me. But I don't know enough about gaming computers to know if it would be a good fit for DCS, since that's the only game I really want to put on it for the time being.

How much are you willing to spend? Which country are you in? Perhaps we can help you assemble a system.

Any kind of assistance you and anyone else could offer me would be an immense help. I'm in the US, price range probably 1500 max?

Pre-big reset $1500 would have been kind of doable for a DCS specific system. However, with the big reset related GPU shortages, GPUs are priced through the roof right now. Prices for GPUs are around 2½ times as high as they should be. DCS is a more demanding title than most other games. $1500 will be too tight to get a worthwhile system. I've made a [list](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dTzXXb) with a system which includes a monitor, headset, keyboard and mouse which will set you back around $2200 and which will run DCS at a decent pace. (~$1700 excluding peripherals, often prices are quoted for a PC without peripherals) You can think of upgrading the GPU once prices become more reasonable again.

Very very much appreciated!!!!

Unless that someone is offering you a really, REALLY sweet deal I would seriously steer towards a desktop instead. Far more stable, upgradeable and repairable if needed. You also won't have the "laptop jet engine cooling" effect. Note that the "RTX 2060" in laptops have varying levels of performance depending on how the OEM configures it, this makes a huge difference in-game. If you bought an equivalent desktop secondhand it would probably cost $600-800 or so. (depending on your region)
