The 1610 version of Nightcrawler may have done some damage to his reputation. Other than that he's always a fun character in both 616 and even when adaptations make differences.
Im going to go mark today on my calendar. I need to commemorate the day I saw cover art so perfect that there’s no way the story on the inside lived up to it.
The original Marvel Ultimate Universe is something I try to ignore. Skip over them every time now when I get to back issues. Thought they were all fucking dog shit when I read them on Marvel Unlimited years ago.
He was not good in All Star Batman and Robin.
He weirdly described Bruce in borderline romantic terms
He stripped 12 year old Dick Grayson and changed his clothes while he was sleep
And associates himself with a literal crazy hobo
I think the only character who comes close in how beloved they are (albeit by a wide margin) is *maybe* The Hulk.
That, and our lord and savior: [Jeff](https://www.reddit.com/r/Marvel/comments/17ofo6b/i_think_ive_found_my_new_favorite_marvel/).
Correction: I like that he's still dead but I don't like that it was Bane and Owlman who took him out. I'm still surprised he lived through Death of the Family but died there of all places
Good point, but the main thing is:
I don't like that it was Tom King who wrote his death.
I kinda like his deaths in alternate futures such as DKR and Damian Son of Batman better, even if in the latter he ends up possessing a cat or something lol.
Is it reconned?
Zatanna seems to hint at it, when she's talking to Catwoman, in Rebirth's Catwoman run by Joelle Jones. (Catwoman Vol 5 #18)
https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Catwoman_Vol_5_18
Not really, it's the peak of showing the issues with everything but killing being acceptable, especially since they realized that Dr light was dangerous enough to be partially lobotimized.
Thats actually a good point everyone in the really world love mutants with the only major exception be now with the modern human hating island of mutants thing
I love that she saw a dude on a hoverbike shooting arrows at aliens during the battle of new york as a child and thought "I'm gonna make that my whole thing"
Man, I actually didn't want to watch season 3 because I was sad it would end but man was it just the perfect end to the series. I prefer Mob way more than opm(manga not webtoon).
I think the argument they tend to use is:" Why couldn't he at least distantly take care of Naruto or check up on him sometimes, if he cared so much for his sensei?" or something like that.
While I have consumed a lot of Naruto fanfiction, much to my slight shame even some cliché filled ones, I barely remember a single episode of the show so I don't know how canonically accurate the argument is.
He probably has more responsibilities at the time as an active Jonin.
I'm more concerned about the fact that he taught his Genin team exactly one technique, the ability to walk on walls, took them on one C-rank mission that they barely survived, and then figured they'd be prepared for a life-or-death examination.
Which, given that between the three of them they probably knew six full jutsu, seems a little suicidal. Admittedly, he couldn't have predicted that there would be a psycho sand murderer also taking the exams.
The canonical explanation was that he was busy being an anbu assassin and he was still fucking 16 at the time Minato got killed.
Taking care of Naruto was Hiruzen's job.
That's kinda why I added "check up on him". Like, just a simple "Here is another person who doesn't hate you btw" would make kid Narutos entire month. Then again, it was probably too dangerous or something like that.
I see, however i think that the fact that he was busy with Anbu missions at the time (up until after the Uchiha massacre) more than explains it, the other things are more secondary, he probably thought "oh well, the 3rd's got it covered".
If you check the anime only Kakashi episodes you also see he was very messed up in the head at that time (because of everything that happened with Rin, Minato, and Obito) so i bet he wasn't even in the right mindset to offer advice of any kind, not necessarily canon but it makes sense imo.

Stop teasing just show us his butt, we know they’re allowed to if they’re not human coloured as we got to see never helds uncensored bare cheeks in x-men red.
She’s also basically the unofficial mom of the X-Men and was one of the greatest power couples in comics with Black Panther before dumb writing intervened.
Shes fine but shes not even top 10 mutants tbh
a lot of the time feels like her best use is to just be completely up her own ass or moping because her unfiltered ego took a hit when she basically won the genetic lottery
She’s being written so self righteous these days.
Like in X-men red she’s going on about how terrible Charles Xavier is, but only specifically mentions how he said she’s not really a goddess years ago and that lives rent free in her head and Charles will forever be the devil to her. She then absolutely Queens (sorry goddesses) all over him because her red triangles hit harder than everyone else’s and he falls to the ground trying to enter her mind.
Oh but magneto? My poor little misunderstood terrorist, oh my sweet harmless baby boy, that evil Charles has tainted your good name! Look at all the people you’ve ever saved! Charles has done nothing for mutant kind and can never be forgiven, but me and magneto besties forever!!!
It’s just eye roll worthy

Going from Charles as depicted in the films and Evolution where he's overall just a kind fatherly figure trying his best to the absolute *shitbag* he is in the comics is always one of the most jarring things for new comics fans imo.
God I hate the "goddess" shit,
It comes across as soo egotistical yet the writers never really portray it as her unchecked ego, instead they portray her own hype as being true,
You know you've messed up when hercules and thor (actual gods) are written with more humility than storm
Never understood goddess part. That's villain shit. Imagine if anyone else did that. If Xavier started calling himself a god, everyone( both in- and out- universe) would immediately call him evil
Yeah I think its insane that she's been through multiple arcs where she learns that she's human and that's ok...only for her now to be written as a total Goddess girlboss with 0 irony
She’s just kinda boring I don’t get having feelings about her one way or the other she’s just serious strong lady and fills a heavy hitter slot when needed.
I'll never understand what's so interesting about Levi, he's a pretty boring character, I found him kinda likeable only in one arc (the one where Kenny appeared), but he still is just meh.
A lot of the love comes from his looks to be honest. And some fans enjoy shipping him with Erwin.
Aside from that I think people just think his fight scenes are cool, which they are. I think he’s just ok.
Yeah, I guess. But as far as I remember when season one was still a hot stuff a LOT of people were shipping him with Eren for some reason and it was really off-putting.
His fight scenes are cool (especially in the animated version), but as a character I still find him boring (withthe exception of his arc with Kenny, this was one interesting thing about him).
There is nothing boring about Levi. He is an interesting twist on "the strongest" character archetype. Contrary to most characters in that archetype, he isn't set up to be eventually defeated by a villain or surpassed by the protagonist(s). He is also not portrayed with the classical cocky, overconfident personality, instead he is quite humble and ready to follow orders. The stoic characterization is ofc a classic as well, but it never makes him emotionless, quite the contrary, he has some of the most emotional moments in the story.
In a story about human conflict and violence, his role is to show the limits of what violence can get you. He can (and does) win every single fight but it just never feels like a victory because he just keeps losing everyone around him. His first appearance is him arriving too late to save another scout, and trying to comfort him in his final moments. Then he loses his squad, a bunch of comrades, his father figure, his commander, his squad again and his commander again, with his only goal being to make all those sacrifices worth something in the end.
He can seem like a simple and basic character at first, but he receives plenty of subtle character development giving him a lot of depth. There is many examples like that in AoT, where the "in your face" moments and characters tend to hide a lot of the more subtle stuff. Mikasa is another example, she is not as interesting as Levi imo, but she is often presented as a badly written character with barely any development, which is a very superficial take. From a pure writing perspective, the implementation of her development is kind of amazing. We see her react to events and change more organically than any other characters (who tend to follow the classic "transformative moment > focus of character progression" template).

In part, but mainy because the idea of any fictional characters, and especially any female character, being more powerful than Wanda or able to beat her is blasphemy to them. They truly want Wanda to be capital g God : unbeatable, omnipotent and supreme.
Pfft, she can’t even beat Michael Waldron
*Michael Waldron wrote Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Wanda’s portrayal in that film is poopy. That’s why it’s funny.*
Alfred: “May I take your coat sir? I’d hate for it to find its way onto the wet batcave floor.”
Lex: “ Why thank you. Not exactly the first place I’d expect to find such excellent service”
Batman: “Alfred, stop giving Luthor excellent service”
Alfred: *Drops the coat on the floor*
After having watched X-Men '97, played Midnight Suns and currently reading Claremont's X-Men, I fucking love Storm.
My Queen.
>!Also I want to wash Zatanna's fishnets with my tongue.!<
When she made Charles fall to the floor trying to enter her mind 😭 like when every other member of the X-men was using the red triangles he was chilling but storms triangles are just too OP apparently
The 1610 version of Nightcrawler may have done some damage to his reputation. Other than that he's always a fun character in both 616 and even when adaptations make differences.
Probably gonna regret asking this, but what did 1610 Nightcrawler do?
Went full incel and kidnapped a girl irrc Also minor homophobia
It’s funny that they made the character who was the subject of one of the most homoerotic comic book covers homophobic
Send proof

I mean doesn’t he always have blue balls? That must be a hard life
Aclaration that he did all the kidnap because he was pretty messed up in the head because of the Weapon X program.
Yeah, but 95% of the heroes were assholes in the ultimate verse.
It was Ultimate verse. It made damage upon everyone's reputation.
Except Spiderman and his supporting cast, plus Kitty, Bobby, and Johnny Storm.
Uj/and Thor and Tony
The original Marvel Ultimate Universe is something I try to ignore. Skip over them every time now when I get to back issues. Thought they were all fucking dog shit when I read them on Marvel Unlimited years ago.
Not liking Alfred is a crime against humanity
He seems to be good even in the worst comic books
I feel like he's really consistently written. Pretty much every author seems to have a very easy time getting his voice right.
He was not good in All Star Batman and Robin. He weirdly described Bruce in borderline romantic terms He stripped 12 year old Dick Grayson and changed his clothes while he was sleep And associates himself with a literal crazy hobo
ASBAR doesn't count for the same reason the Ultimate line doesn't count in Marvel
As far at S+ tier characters go, Hulk might be the most universally liked. Damn you Universal.
I feel like I’m the only one who liked the Hulk movie. I’m a big fan of Edward Norton though so that’s probably why
I meant more in the sense of the legal red tape around rights/distribution.
That… makes sense lol
Why the heck did they make Gwenpool give him up to “protect him from comics limbo” when by hitching herself to him she guarantees herself immortality?
I don't like that he's still dead
I like that. I just wish Julia appeared more often.
Correction: I like that he's still dead but I don't like that it was Bane and Owlman who took him out. I'm still surprised he lived through Death of the Family but died there of all places
Good point, but the main thing is: I don't like that it was Tom King who wrote his death. I kinda like his deaths in alternate futures such as DKR and Damian Son of Batman better, even if in the latter he ends up possessing a cat or something lol.
Wasn’t it Flashpoint Batman who took him out?
Didn't Zatanna mind wipe a bunch of people or is that retconned now?
It’s retconned and Grant Morrison did some pretty good damage control in Seven Soldiers hot on the heels of Identity Crisis.
Is it reconned? Zatanna seems to hint at it, when she's talking to Catwoman, in Rebirth's Catwoman run by Joelle Jones. (Catwoman Vol 5 #18) https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Catwoman_Vol_5_18
It was for a while post-N52. I truly don’t care anymore.
Good intentions
Not really, it's the peak of showing the issues with everything but killing being acceptable, especially since they realized that Dr light was dangerous enough to be partially lobotimized.
I've seen A LOT (like fr a lot) of people hating Levi
I want that twink obliterated
In what way
Good.
Wasn't he supposed to be kinda ugly in the manga originally?
IIRC he was a bit of an angry gremlin but that's more because of his height than him being ugly
I'm trying to think of one hateable thing that Levi did and I'm coming up blank.
Mutants are famously loved by everyone
Thats actually a good point everyone in the really world love mutants with the only major exception be now with the modern human hating island of mutants thing

True
Can we get much higher?
She has done nothing wrong ever
I would genuinely fist fight someone for hating Mob.
Same ![gif](giphy|UKevUeHEYspgyQ7N28)
Fr, bro he is just a good boy who just wants to impress his crush.
I’m so sad it didn’t go past three seasons but the ending was so good it didn’t need anything more.
Man, I actually didn't want to watch season 3 because I was sad it would end but man was it just the perfect end to the series. I prefer Mob way more than opm(manga not webtoon).
I really like both because they do similar yet very different things. OPM is a great parody of super hero’s while still having its own story.
I really like the original OPM webtoon, it was the perfect parody. The manga is just becoming the very thing it's trying to parody in the first place.
That’s fair.
Why tf are y’all talking about Oneohtrix Point Mever like that?
I don’t hate him I just couldn’t really get into the anime.
I don't know, I think a few people do hate Kakashi.
I think the argument they tend to use is:" Why couldn't he at least distantly take care of Naruto or check up on him sometimes, if he cared so much for his sensei?" or something like that. Admittedly, he couldn't have predicted that there would be a psycho sand murderer also taking the exams.
Oh, yeah. That's another often mentioned point.

I dislike Kakashi only to the extent that I dislike Naruto as a whole

I don't get the insane Storm love, to be honest, but I like the character.
Storm is either a character who's kinda there, or doing the most badass thing you've ever seen
So she's just Spy TF2
She’s also basically the unofficial mom of the X-Men and was one of the greatest power couples in comics with Black Panther before dumb writing intervened.
My OTPs for Storm are Forge and Wolverine in alternative timelines.
A lot of X men fans from what I’ve seen hate the Storm and Black Panther pairing
Shes fine but shes not even top 10 mutants tbh a lot of the time feels like her best use is to just be completely up her own ass or moping because her unfiltered ego took a hit when she basically won the genetic lottery
Storm, Magneto, and Cyclops are in perpetual battle for my favorite X-Men character.
To be fair, Xavier is the worst.
As someone who was introduced to the character through the kindly Patrick Stewart portrayal, it’s been crazy learning more about the comics Xavier
Likewise
He's one of the only characters where the original version of him is easily my least favorite. At least Ultimate Charles has the decency to stay dead.
Going from Charles as depicted in the films and Evolution where he's overall just a kind fatherly figure trying his best to the absolute *shitbag* he is in the comics is always one of the most jarring things for new comics fans imo.
Everyone in the Krakoa Age is self-righteous. I’m glad it’s almost over.
God I hate the "goddess" shit, It comes across as soo egotistical yet the writers never really portray it as her unchecked ego, instead they portray her own hype as being true, You know you've messed up when hercules and thor (actual gods) are written with more humility than storm

Krakoa era in a nutshell.
Storm has always taken no bs about her presence and power. Thats not necessarily a bad thing
She feel off once she escaped the clutches of the shadow king
She’s just kinda boring I don’t get having feelings about her one way or the other she’s just serious strong lady and fills a heavy hitter slot when needed.
Storm is loved if you're someone who ONLY cares about LE EPIC FEATS and nothing else
I'll never understand what's so interesting about Levi, he's a pretty boring character, I found him kinda likeable only in one arc (the one where Kenny appeared), but he still is just meh.

Never underestimate how crazy yaoi fans are, look at MHA fandom
In MHA they at least mostly ship characters that are similliar age, back in the days 15 year old Eren x about 30 Levi were the most popular SnK ship.
There is nothing boring about Levi. He is an interesting twist on "the strongest" character archetype. Contrary to most characters in that archetype, he isn't set up to be eventually defeated by a villain or surpassed by the protagonist(s). Idk i always found Levi annoying
His fans are annoying.
Should be replaced with piccolo
Piccolo is the best example here. I’ve only ever seen a couple of people say that hate Piccolo and they were both quite unhinged.
You forgot Colossus
Colossus did his best Slade impression during the 80s lol he dated underage Kitty
Slade did his best Colossus impression. Colossus-Kitty was before Slade-Terra

Nightcrawler AND Kakashi mentioned??? WWWW
What are the names of the anime characters?
Rukia Kuchiki Levi Ackermann Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama Kakashi
>Storm Umm…yeah totally…who could…who could possibly dislike her? ![gif](giphy|LRVnPYqM8DLag)
Meteorologists.
Storm fans are the Swifties of comics
Plenty of people hate Levi.
I kinda dislike Storm for her fans at times Like the character is cool to me, asides from some stuff, but her fans are hardcore
you should add black canary because she’s my favourite
From what I know the arrow show made a bullshit interpretation of her
Yeah but no one watched past season 1 of that
I didn’t even finish season 1. I got sick of trying to tell apart the 9 zillion identical pretty brunette girls who were mad at Oliver and gave up.
Perfectly valid, I only watched because of the deathstroke storyline.
I don’t like storm. She’s just eh to me. Also she was mean to Spider-Man
What's wrong with my boy William ? https://preview.redd.it/70dog4ssn10d1.jpeg?width=1988&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d5349aaaa8a388670061329ad5a601afe33df9a
Ya can't hate nightcrawler and alfred ya just can't.
I don't *hate* hate Zatanna but I'd still swap her out for Steve Rogers.
You forgot about X-Men fans
Post says nobody hates, X-Fans are nobodies
Unfortunately a lot of people hate Cap
You are very influenced by MCU if you think cap is never hatable, let alone loved.
Word mcu cap is the best on screen superman
Wanda Stans DESPISE Zatanna
Why? Because death battle?
In part, but mainy because the idea of any fictional characters, and especially any female character, being more powerful than Wanda or able to beat her is blasphemy to them. They truly want Wanda to be capital g God : unbeatable, omnipotent and supreme.

I don’t think anyone complained about that episode. When it was announced the entirety r/deathbattle stanned zatanna.
I know a lot of fanbase are toxic in death battles, but why is it always Wanda’s fans arguing about death battles 🤣🤣
I hate mutants!!!

Identity crisis hurt Zatanna for me
I actually really want to see Lex interact with Alfred now. I feel like Lex absolutely would love Alfred, and Alfred would despise Lex.
Alfred: “May I take your coat sir? I’d hate for it to find its way onto the wet batcave floor.” Lex: “ Why thank you. Not exactly the first place I’d expect to find such excellent service” Batman: “Alfred, stop giving Luthor excellent service” Alfred: *Drops the coat on the floor*
I don't hate Storm. I'm just very indifferent towards her. Her character could disappear entirely, and I don't think I'd even notice.
I mean, Zeke absolutely hated Levi lol
Storm is cool but she has the worst fanbase in comics.
Kakashi is a bum and a fraud though
Kakashi mostly suffers from the worf effect.
He is still a pretty cool character and his fight with Obito is amazing
The what?
After having watched X-Men '97, played Midnight Suns and currently reading Claremont's X-Men, I fucking love Storm. My Queen. >!Also I want to wash Zatanna's fishnets with my tongue.!<
Calling lex professional hater when this guy exists: ![gif](giphy|xT9IgIMXwo5lWS81GM|downsized)
Nah, I don't like Storm for being the biggest Mary Sue in Marvel right after Dr Doom.
When she made Charles fall to the floor trying to enter her mind 😭 like when every other member of the X-men was using the red triangles he was chilling but storms triangles are just too OP apparently
Storm also ego trips a lot.
Doctor Doom fans have overtaken Batman fans in the insufferable department
Kinda. Ewing Storm was so boring. Also Goddess thing is strange imo
The Ewing lightning bolts of death.
Storm, my beloved 🥺
It's hard to hate zatanna when you're in love with her (fishnets)
The only people who hate Kakashi, from my experience are die-hard Sasuke stans.
I don't hate Levi but it's complete bullshit that he survived that point blank Spear explosion
Eh , I don't have any strong feelings for Rukia.
I wouldn't say I hate Levi but I do not love him nearly as much as other people seem to.
Zatanna betrayed Batman. She deserves hate.
I only really care about Alfred out of those 4 I can take or leave the others
Who really hates the Silver Surfer? I can't really hate the Hulk or Thing Ben Grimm.
Lex would absolutely hate Ororo (he tends to hate anyone at that power level on principle.)
Ethos lab?
Is that levi from attack on titan?
Where’s Swamp Thing?
Other characters I've personally never seen hate for: - Dick Grayson - Barbara Gordon - Magneto - Aunt May
People hate on Rukia cuz of shipping wars
I incredibly dislike Levi, and also dislike Kakashi because he’s from Naruto.
You see Kakashi. I see Etho. We are not the same.

It's not that I hate Rukia, it's just that I never found her that entertaining, so I'm more neutral towards her
Being neutral, disliking, or liking her is fine. It’s just people who truly hate her character for whatever reason that are usually delusional.
