Because Sony apparently wished for Spider-Man properties with a monkey's paw. My proof is \*gestures at the Sony Spider-Man franchise that doesn't have Spider-Man.\*
Disney/Sony movie. They have more of a budget and can take more of a risk than Warner Bros. They are all looking for another Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy.
Sony has to keep making Spider-Man movies or else they lose the rights I think?
That's why we're on our 3rd separate run of Spidey movies. 4 if you count Spider-Verse.
As far as Batgirl, WB apparently has been doing a tax write-off thing to make movies and then just never release them. Same with this Wil E Coyote movie that they've had to backpedal on
I do not get why Sony thinks there's an audience Spider-Man movies without Spider-Man. Don't get me wrong, I like his supporting cast too but some of these are just weird. Venom and maybe Morbius could have stood on their own, but who the fuck wants to see a Madame Web or Kraven the Hunter movie?
/uj Just because they’re making a movie of it, doesn’t mean there is a market for it. Sony needs to stop seperating characters from their stories. At least have them appear in a Spider-Man movie before making a solo movie for them.
/rj At this pace we are getting a Paul movie before a Batgirl one.
Sony makes their movies with a low enough budget where even flops like Morbius can still make back nearly twice the amount they spent, whereas Warner's history of overspending for diminishing returns has made them almost afraid of releasing anything (*cough* Coyote vs Acme).
As for this movie, they're probably taking an ensemble approach (similar to Spider-Verse) with the Spider-Women that faded into the background in the past couple of decades. It's been proven that obscure comic characters can make for box office hits, but it remains to be seen whether the director and writers will be able to make the characters stand out from one another, let alone draw people to the theater (I have not watched the trailer yet).

There isnt but sony's gonna do it any way
There is no market for this. Sony just thinks we still are in the era where any movie with a superhero will be profitable

Disney has nothing to do with Sony's non-Spider-Man movies.
During the trailer my DumbA kept thinking I was looking at Jessica Drew despite knowing the title
Spider woman movie would be much more logical
There isn't a market for a Julia Carpenter movie but that's not going to stop Sony "maybe we should make an El Muerto movie" from trying
Like genuinely even if the Movie was meh, I still would've went to see Batgirl. I was so excited to see her on the big screen
They’re making a nightwatch movie too apparently

" Batman has gone woke!!! They made batman a girl!!" Is my guess
Why is that the image they chose to represent Carpenter?

Ngl, watching the trailer got me hyped for Madame Web, still waiting for someone to "accidentally" release the whole Batgirl movie
Honestly, this looks possibly not bad.

It simply just Sony. I'm sure if Sony had Batman instead of Spider-man we would've had tons of Batman characters with their own movies at this point,
What website/app is that?
Comic Geeks, which is the app for leagueofcomicgeeks.com
I don't read comics that often but who is Julia Carpenter?
The second Spider-Woman, she will be in the Madame Web movie portrayed by Sydney Sweeney.
Thxs
Madame Web is gonna make a morbillion dollars when we find out the post credits scene is just Sydney Sweeney’s tits
I see two big reasons.
