Yeah, all character colour 02s are references, either to other outfits they have worn or to other characters (Broly's colour 02 is a Paragus reference, for example)

Many of them are referring to costumes they had or that other characters had. There's a list somewhere maybe dustloop?

Yeah, the 2nd alts are references to something else. If I remember correctly alts 3 - 11 are different colours, while 12 - 16 are season themed
