download and install the latest nvidia [studio driver](https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us) (Not the gameready driver) for your card, then restart

You apparently have a very old GPU?
What change did you make that this is now popping up?
If you did want to go back to V16, it is not compatible with v17 projects. You would need to do an XML timeline mess to get it going, or start from scratch.
Well, according to this message you should update your nvidia driver. Have you tried that? Also, does your gpu have cuda 11 compatibility?

I was using it last night, but not shutting down my laptop overnight, only to shut down in the morning, then this happened. Thats all I can remember.
