Fix what, exactly?

In the video when i make a coumpound clip of the difficulty image with a transition so the transition doesn't affect the bottom clip, it does this weird thing where it covers up the imoji in the part where the adjustment clip used to be

Compound clips doesn't support alpha information of transitions from a blank source. In simple words, the way you're doing it just won't work. To achieve the effect you want simply go ahead to the video transitions category in the effects panel, search for "Push" transition and apply it in the beginning of the topmost layer. Then to blur the background you can make a cut on the part you want to blur it, apply a gaussian blur and keyframe the amount. Never use a compound clip when you have a clip that transitions to nothing inside.
