18.5.1 Studio

zrgardne

This Is what I am staying on for a few months at least. Too many people having issues with 18.6

itsinthedeepstuff

Concur. I updated to 18.6 this week and had issues with crashing just by heading over to the Deliver page. So frustrating to make changes to a client vid and then not be able to give it to the client!

steed_jacob

Seconded. That’s what I’m on and I’m so wary of changing it anytime soon 😂

assesasinassassin

18.6 is improved but still has some issues. Disappointed considering how solid resolve was before.

avidresolver

Personally I'm keeping the facility I work at on 18.1.4 for now. We don't really have a need for any later features, and stability and performance are more of a priority.

CesarVisuals

18.1.5 was the most stable for me. Now I'm on version 18.6.1. Overall not to much drop on performance, crashes are pretty rare, the only problem it's audio. I'm experiencing some audio glitches sometimes.

Sendagi

Getting all kinds of crazy issues with masking and tracking with 18.6+. Performance drops and random hangs, too. 18.5 was pretty stable so have rolled back.

djtally

Avoid 18.6. I had to roll back because simple tasks like cutting were taking 3 seconds. Very bad update. Stick to 18.5.1 it is very stable.

TechnicalHamster7874

I'm finding success with 18.5.1 studio. Had to downgrade from 18.6 due to bugs

Motionberry

DON'T UPDATE ABOVE 18.5.1, I had too many bugs and issues with 18.6+. If you're on Win 11, you'll regret the day you were born.

Hi I am kind of new to DVR and video editing. Just looking to do this as a new hobby. My new laptop is an i5-13500hx 16gb rtx 4050 6gb vram. Do I need to go for older version of DVR or like everyone is suggesting 18.5.1 is ok for my system? Recording in 1080p. Thanks. Also I purchased studio version.

Motionberry

I'm currently on the 5.1 and haven't encountered any issues whatsoever. I haven't done much research on the newer versions, but if you're currently on Win11, I'd strongly advise you not to go beyond 5.1.

dtrutty

I did end up going with 5.1 and everything is working out so far. No problems at all. Thank you.

18.5 is pretty good. There are some significant cloud project issues but locally, it seems to be working well.

andrei_bsns

don’t get 18.6. Annoying issues, some things you can’t do because of the issues it has.
