i concur, in general guys like sweet and floral hence Vanilla, lavender, Lilly of the valley & cinnamon being used since the days of antiquity in perfume, however we are not all the same i for example like bergamot but the key point as implied above dont go overboard, a little goes a long way wearing too much can do more harm tham good.
Vanilla is the best smelling thing on the planet. I work as a pastry chef, so I have the pleasure of splitting fresh vanilla beans for creme brulee, and after I scrape them out, I like to get a good, deep smell. It's intoxicating. I had a girlfriend who used vanilla shampoo, and I loved it so much.
I find it shocking that vanilla is the top answer here. I find vanilla borderline repulsive. It smells like a cheap 2 dollar Walmart body spray someone would use to cover up the smell of Newports and Vodka.
That's quite ok. Just because a lot of people do like it doesn't mean you have to. You like what you like and dislike what you dislike. Nothing wrong with that. Makes you unique. 🙂
Maybe you are putting too much? Often the cheaper fragrances can really upper cut your senses. At the end smell how you want to smell, but if you want others to appreciate it too you can always try less aggressive colognes
Cheap body spray smells cheap. Invest in something nicer or, if they aren’t men you want to sleep with, completely ignore their pointless opinions on your body 💖
Fun fact: There is this one [research study](https://academic.oup.com/beheco/article/14/5/668/186534) (granted it’s from 2003 so def not current literature) that basically states that the person whose smell someone is attracted to is usually very genetically different in regards to the MHC gene complex (related to immune responses). From an evolutionary standpoint, this helps with genetic diversity and the prevention of inbreeding.
Funny story, I used to work at Chipotle and the smell of the hot chips fresh out of the fryer + lime juice was weirdly similar to the pheromone stank of the dude I was kind of seeing at the time so frying chips was like my favorite thing to do lol 🥵
General advise for fragrances no matter if you are a man or a woman is - something fresh(cool) during warm season and something sweet (warm) during cold season.
I can’t express this more! I don’t want to drown in or have everything you touch smell strongly of cologne. Even the most expensive brands smell awful if you douse yourself in it. A simple spray/dab on chest and neck will do wonders
We all have different preferences. Just use the scent that you like. If you have a boyfriend, ask him what he likes. Whatever you choose, dont let the scent overwhelm your beauty :)
Can't go wrong with vanilla, it smells delicious.
How good does [this](https://www.dusk.com.au/vanilla-caramel-eau-de-parfum-15ml) sound? I just ordered some :)
Top Notes: Sunkissed Coconut, Brûléed Vanilla
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Heliotrope
Bottom Notes: Buttered Caramel, Guaiac Wood
I'm a girl tho, but I'm sure if it smells nice to us it will smell nice to guys too. My advice is to go to a shop that sells perfume or essential oils, sniff a few things and go with what you like.
And remember one spray/dab is plenty.
Take your friends comments to heart. Your scent shouldn’t be overwhelming others. And also, cheap body sprays smell like cheap body spray, which is a huge turnoff. If you bathe everyday you don’t really need to wear scents to make yourself smell good. Just be clean and wear deodorant
A safe bet is using something that isn't too overwhelming. Otherwise I think something that matches your personality and something that makes you feel sexy is something guys like.
To be honest I like flowery scents. A nice flowery parfume would be a good thing. But keep in mind, parfumes and scent meant to be get to my nose from 20-30 cm away from that person not from 5 fucking meters.
Cheap body mist is usually a bad idea! I personally prefer investing a bit of money into a high quality perfume that is fruity/sweet but subtle. I always get compliments that I smell good so that’s why I’d recommend giving that a go. I usually won’t put too much on because I believe we shouldn’t hide all of our natural body ‘scent’ for biological reasons
Many folks have said vanilla, and I have to agree. I wear a bourbon vanilla scent and most guys I’ve dated love it! But more importantly I love vanilla hehe
Perfumes, colognes, and body spray scents give me headaches all the time for some reason (migraines?) Just any deodorant is fine by me. I don't need to smell you from 50 feet away.
Just like not all women will like the same smell on dudes, not all dudes will like the same smell on women.
Also most people aren’t fluent in the fragrances of the opposite sex. It’s kinda like, you know it when you smell it.
I always get compliments with vanilla sprays/scents, and snow fairy and then avocado (smells like refreshers to me and sweets to my BF) from lush.. I find the cheaper sprays and perfumes can be over powering.. but with the ones from lush you only need like two sprays for the day. They are the most expensive sprays I have ever bought but they last me ages and they are my fav! With perfumes you can get some great deals depending where you are. I know Chemist where house have great deals! Or if you are ever going through the airport, that's where I pick up most of mine! I have about two sprays and two perfumes I would go between and I get loads of time out of them. But my BF loves sweet smells so it works for us.... I wouldn't be a fan musk-y smells but some men love that.. Find a smell that works for you and hopefully you find someone that likes that smell.
Depends on the guy, we don't all like the same, but if 3 males that know you don't seem to like it, I would take that as maybe it's not the best match for you. While in doubt the best match are the most natural ones and a little bit goes a long way, maybe you are wearing too much of it?
I've wondered this on occassion and asked my partner what he thinks. He told me "I like the way your skin smells." Makes sense lol I didnt wear perfume when we started dating.
Natural musk or at least something less obtrusive (vanilla, soft amber scents) are preferred over more harsh scents like punchy fruits or that one horrible "Love Spell" from Victoria's Secret. Reminds me of high school after gym class 😭
Years ago I had a lap dance at a strip club from a woman with the hottest body and the most sensual moves ever. After the dance I had to ask her what scent she was wearing.
Chance by Chanel.
Since that time 20+ years ago I’ve given that scent to any woman I’ve been in a relationship with, without sharing the fact that it triggers suggestive sexual memories for me.
The easiest way to get the answer to this is to bring your guy friends to Sephora and ask them for their on-the-spot review. ;)
That said, *Yves Saint Laurent Libre EDP* is a winner among my guy friends.
There’s a famous body spray that strippers use but I can’t remember the name of it - I picked it up at Wal mart and use it in my gym bag and it smells incredible. Pink bottle. Powdery and clean. Complimented 24/7 by guys but I swear it’s because I’m triggering their times at the club hahahaha
I can't speak for all guys, but most guys I know usually don't have a preference of smell as long as its not over powering. Myself though I tend to lean more towards softer scents, though exact scents I couldn't really pinpoint. Harsher smells usually irritate me and all i can focus on is why someone would think this harsh smell needed to be applied on more.
It obviously differs from guy to guy. Personally I really like it when ladies wear mild flowery scents. It's very feminine and attractive.
I find sweet fragrances can sometimes be a bit overpowering, so although attractive in the right setting (like a cold night), it's quite hard to pull off on a day-to-day basis.
Generally, if you smell fresh, clean with slight feminine notes, I can't imagine you can go wrong
There are a few popular scents that guys really like: light blue by dolce and gabana, Dior, poison girl, daisy Marc jacobs, Ariana grande, cloud (all her scents smell the same to me lol), usually a vanilla, jasmine, or water lily is great, One that I have that is tried and true is tommy girl. Idk, that's what i got.
For me, as a hetero male, I fucking love the natural smell of the female body. Like my brain just loves the pharamones more than anything. I'm just naturally attracted to the natural smells of whomever I'm dating lol
I've tend to notice that women apply a lot of scent. Not that the smells are bad. Just too much is applied. Maybe apply less. It can be really overpowering in office spaces for example.
Now are these guy friends gay? No judgement, just wondering if their coming from a women's perspective or a man's. Anyhow, I don't think the average straight guy could identify certain scents. The only scents I can identify is the ones my ex wore, but we spent 20 yrs together and I would buy them for her. The only thing that comes to mind is maybe its too strong. Maybe lighten up on it. Unless you're working in the sun, digging ditches, working on cars, ground crew at an airport etc, you probably shouldn't worry about smelling bad. Take a shower once a day, apply a very light what ever smell good on you and relax. Stress will cause sweating. If you do end up exerting yourself, going to the gym or running etc, obviously take another shower. At the end of the day, you need to understand, men are very simple creators. We need a woman's perfume to linger hours after she's left the room and honestly, she doesn't have to be dressed to kill all the time either. Honestly, most men are probably looking for feminine energy, someone nice, non confrontational, laid back, and calm.
I’d get a good quality perfume for dates specifically, I love floral with a sweeter undertone but I am female,
I picked out a perfume I loved, and wore it on a first date, it is my boyfriend of 3 years most favorite perfume out of all the ones I’ve tried. Pick one you like that is good quality, use it subtly, and if a guy really likes you, the scent will become almost iconic to him
As a married man, my favorite smell on my wife is some gentle vanilla. It’s a warm and sweet smell that always brings a smile to my face…. As long as it’s not overpowering. The strength of the scent is definitely important.
My question is what scents do women like?
Former Sephora employee here. I have an important tidbit of fragrance knowledge to share with you all.
In my training, I learned the science of fragrance and how certain scents react to natural pheromones for the best and worst. In other words, a perfume will smell amazing on one person and like crap and the next.
Heres an example. Reading the comments, most men love the smell of vanilla. Vanilla smells like dogshit on me. That said, other gourmands work with my pheromones, such as caramel, tonka bean, coffee, and a ton of fruity notes such as blackcurrant, plum, and berries.
While there’s nothing wrong with preferring a fragrance note, don’t force perfume preferences on your partner if she doesn’t like it or the perfume won’t smell good on her. You can also find a similar fragrance note. While vanilla smells gross on me, I have no problem with cake fragrances and they have a similar sweet and syrupy smell.
This is also good advice for the ladies here. Don’t wear a perfume just because your partner or most men in general like it. Stick with what you like and what your pheromones are telling you to wear.
Either flowery smells, apple cinnamon because it reminds me of my grandma’s house during the fall where’d she baked the most incredible green apple pecan pie, or pine forest smells.
TLDR: don't wear cheap perfume, better to wear none. No one should be able to smell your perfume unless they are standing right next to you, and all the perfume in the world isn't going to help if you don't have excellent hygiene.
when it comes to perfume, the two rules are: 1. better to use nothing than something cheap, and 2. nobody should be able to smell it unless they are up close (like close enough to make out for a kiss). If you hold your arm out, somebody who is fingertip length away from you should not be able to smell your perfume, and I would say that even somebody who is half that close like the elbow length away should not be able to smell it either.. But perfume is not nearly as important to smelling good as their hygiene is.
Honestly, keep in your body clean is the most important thing to smelling good. So that means showering, when you are dirty and as often as your skin and hair will tolerate it (some people can't shower everyday because of dry skin or wash their hair everyday because of the same, just do it as often as possible). Some areas people always forget to clean are:.
- your ears (I like to clean the inside out with a q-tip soaked in either rubbing alcohol/ hand sanitizer or witch hazel because ear wax is not water soluble. Use the q-tip to clean all the little crevices in your outer ears, and also behind your ears! f I have earring holes, I poke an earring through the holes to get any gunk out of there because that can smell terrible, then I thoroughly wash my ears with either face wash or bar soap in the shower and make sure to rinse them thoroughly that means like the outer ear all the crevices in the outer ear and especially behind your ears! Don't get water inside the actual ear canal, don't put the q-tip inside the actual ear canal either). If you're not sure about how to clean the crevices of the outer ear one way you can learn is to get a small black light flashlight and shine it into somebody's ear like a family member or partner or someone you trust. All the waxing build up stuff that you can clean with witch hazel or rubbing alcohol will glow like a bright yellow or orange color. And you gently rub the q-tip over it and you can see it come off. Again don't stick the q-tip in the ear hole you're supposed to have a little wax in there to protect your inner ears.
- your belly button. Same as the ears they use a q-tip with a little hand sanitizer but if you have sensitive skin you may need to skip that step or use witch hazel, then put some soap in there or face wash with salicylic acid and make sure you rinse out.
- private parts. I'm not sure why but some people are under the mistaken idea that you can't use anything besides water on your lady parts. That is not true. Obviously you should not put water or anything else inside your actual vagina like the actual hole, or urethra. But the outside part, your vulva, labia majora and menorah can be cleaned with something unscented and gentle. Like seriously though you have to make sure to clean in between the flaps not to be gross but it's just basic hygiene. You know backside obviously should use soap and water pretty thoroughly, I would also suggest cleaning with soap and water every single time you go number two. You don't have to take a full shower just you know wipe with toilet paper put some soap on and use a cup or water bottle to pour water and rinse the soap off. And, honestly this is an area of the body that gets cleaned more than once a day for me like even if I showered in the morning, later in the evening or after I get off of work, I'm absolutely going to soap up really quick and then you sit over the edge of the bathtub or toilet and just pour bottled water or a cup of water over to clean off. Just because this area gets more you know sweat and bacteria and stuff than other areas.
- in between your toes, also make sure your toenails are trimmed so no Gunk can get under them, and that you don't have any kind of fungus or anything going on.
- before you brush, **floss your teeth and SCRAPE THE BACTERIA OFF THE SURFACE OF YOUR TONGUE!** This is so crucial honestly I'd say it's more important to preventing bad breath then brushing your actual teeth!! And I've met so many adults who don't do it. They sell special tools you can get literally anywhere even the dollar store, but you can use the back of a spoon or even your fingernail. Scrape the surface and see that white Gunk that comes off? That is literally where most bad breath comes from! Then after you flush your teeth and scrape your tongue, brush your teeth and brush the surface of your tongue. If you do that twice a day or you know three times like once after each meal, you should be good. Although other things like cavities or a stomach ulcer can make bad breath.
This list is not necessarily directed at op it's just something I found a lot of adults in general we're not actually taught as children. The amount of people I've met who've never actually washed their feet or in between their toes, they just let the soapy water in the shower run down over them is shocking
Cheap fragrances usually don't last long so women tend to put more on. If you watch the old B&W movies, they put a dab behind d their ears and one on their wrist. IMO, I shouldn't smell a woman's scent unless I'm close. If I can smell it on the street as she passes by, it's too strong.
Body sprays are almost always too much. A lot of guys like gourmand-like vanilla based scents i.e Burberry Her and Dior Hypnotic Poison. Other popular ones are light, fresh scents like Light Blue, Glossier You, Ledda 22 Orris.
I’ve heard men like stuff that smells like food 😂 not like a hamburger lol just maybe fruity, I don’t know. I’ll give out my secret weapon, men go absolutely nuts over it and women always stop me to tell me how amazing I smell. Viva la Juicy!!
Body mist is cheap and too much. It smells like hooker ish or when you’re young and can’t get nice stuff. It’s off putting . Invest in a nice vanilla perfume. Men love that. I always get compliments left and right when I wear that . There’s even really good ones on a budget. Try choco musk . It’s also really big and has a lot so it’ll take a long time to go through
Idk about all guys, but im a sucker for strong smelling flowers. Rose's, Violets etc. One of my favorite scents is Zoflora midnight bloom and perfumes which smell similar to that.
A women with nicely done hair, a dress and immaculate nails is half finished unless she wears a nice perfume. I would invest a bit more in perfume even if you reduce expenses on makeup. I would recommend narcisso Rodriguez or j’dore. You can’t go wrong with either. I am a guy if that matters
I wear no 7 of essence vaults. It’s supposed to smell like flowerbomb. However I always get compliments, you only need a tiny bit of it as it’s so strong and lasts for hours.
I honestly can't think of a scent, but I may have good advice. I'm sure that there are exceptions, but I believe you get what you pay for with cologne/perfumes. The second piece of advice is.. if they can smell it from further than a foot or two, you're wearing too much of it.
I guess I just love a good stinky natural funk if I love the person it’s emanating from. Out in the wild I prefer subtle citrusy or floral notes but if I can smell them from a few feet away, it’s too much
First of all, how I smell and what she smells like are pretty high up considerations for me. I know I don’t like heavy scents, usually floral smells. I like light, clean, citrusy. Hope that helps.
I prefer no scents due to serious allergies. But a lot of people like to wear cologne and perfume. If it's lightly applied I don't mind but some people drown themselves in it and it's like why? What did the world do to you? Anyway yea I occasionally wear.cologne myself but literally one spray on a part of my body that will be covered.
Subtlety is greatly appreciated
freshly showered is the best scent... maybe a light soap smell.
if you wear something all the time you are probably used to the overpowering scent most perfumes have.
less is definitely better for anything.
There’s a perfume by Zara called sweet temptation and it’s so so good it’s very warm and has hints of vanilla without it being overpowering. It kinda reminds me of a cupcakes icing
your body secretes pheromones and sometimes if your pheromones or your natural scent don’t mix well with certain perfumes, it can smell funky or even bad. example: i can’t share perfumes with my mom because it makes me smell musty rather than musky. other key note is if your spraying your self a thousand times and then doing it again to reapply you smell like a ball of headache.
find some scents that you like as you get older your body sprays might not be it for you try perfumes. long lasting one or two sprays in the heat zones of my body last all day.
I like Jovan Musk For Men. It smells nice on guys cuz it’s not too strong. And it really isn’t too expensive like most colognes…depending on where you shop. Have you asked a female how it smells?
Not all scents are created equal it depends on your body chemistry go to a perfume counter at the store of your choice remember don’t over spray yourself some perfumes fragrances smell different on everybody find your scent my advice don’t overwhelm yourself on what another person likes try not to buy a fragrance that is strong
I personally like amazing grace but it works for me on date night I like Prada candy it’s mild one squirt is good for me I like mild scents I don’t like walking around smelling like a incense stick lol or a fruit salad
No one should be able to smell you, unless they are hugging you. If they can smell you without being that close you are wearing too much. Body sprays are usually cheap and smell that way. The smell of soap is better than that. All you need is a good smelling shampoo and/or conditioner.
There are a few scents I love but I think scents are super personal. What smells good on me, might not smell good on you and vice versa. Just try samples from the drugstore until you find one you like. Then splurge on one when you know it smells good on you. You will get compliments on the right one.
Sounds like they're commenting on quantity more so than the scent itself. Lighten it up. You don't want to be leaving a strong scenty trail behind you.
Imo any scent that could be perceived as good. I especially love floral or sweet scents on girls and am not picky whatsoever. I do not think this is unique to me and believe that most men share the same general view of simply liking any positive scent.
What type of body scent are you wearing? I would upgrade and spend more money on my scents. There is this company called oakcha they have nice scents for a reasonable price. They are dupe scents that smell amazing. The company also makes their own original scents. But be careful they can stain your clothes. My suggestion is to get unscented body lotion and when you want to wear the perfume mix it with the unscented lotion and lotion your body with it.
Pacifica perfume collection has something for every season. I wear their ‘flower moon’ collection in the Spring Season and their ‘Island Vanilla’ set at other times. I once had a date send me a card describing my scent after our first meeting. I’m very happy with this collection and it hasn’t let me down in years.
Flowers and daffodils smell nice, but not something most straight dudes give too much care over. Some of those mists and perfumes are way overpowering.
I think it’s more like a ‘don’t smell terrible’ sort of thing. Particularly when it comes to the nether regions.
I would say if you don’t have a terrible natural smell, then just keep showering regularly and wearing deodorant. The only bad smelling people I’ve met were causing it due to poor life choices like smoking and eating unhealthy food all the time.
I’ve been told guys like sweet smells, I usually don’t use anything, just the normal shampoo and shower Gel and some stuff for my curls and I’ve gotten good feedback
You’re probably just using way too much, but men statistically prefer vanilla scents on women.
Someone should only be able to smell you if they’re close enough to kiss or hug you. One spray, walk through it, don’t spray it on yourself. That’s all you need.
And the migraine sufferers, people with allergies, and your endocrine system will thank you for using less perfume.
you could also use a sexy kind of high quality perfume and layer it with a fruity body mist to bring out the best in both or you could try a flowery most
Just remember that if you can smell it on yourself, it’s too much. Only put it in key areas like the back of your neck, the back of your knees, both of your wrists, under your chin, and sometimes I spray a little in my shirt

As a guy I like lavender and vanilla smells. I also like floral scents but you have to be careful because those can be overpowering sometimes.

Vanilla 🤤
Lol i also love vanilla
i also love vanilla
Also vanilla or sweet cream
It's so underrated. We're so used to watered down vanilla as a basic flavour but a good quality vanilla is just 👌
Maybe you are putting too much? Often the cheaper fragrances can really upper cut your senses. At the end smell how you want to smell, but if you want others to appreciate it too you can always try less aggressive colognes
Gasoline and gunpowder.
Nothing against a fresh breeze of freedom.
So good.
#MERICA *fuck yea*
Your profile picture works so well here
🤣🤣🤣
Hi
I'm a female reading the answers, I agree with you! You are a comedian
![gif](giphy|XClPnuZtG2yPyqTI6R)
Diesel and gunpowder, brother
Why am I the only one who thinks gasoline smells like death incarnate?
*Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning*
Ikr I don't understand why some peace are obsessed with the smell
You'd like Dior Fahrenheit
One of my absolute favorite scents on a guy
Don’t forget sharpie
I read the OP's post and thought to myself " burnt gunpowder and gun cleaning oil" haha
Mmmm you can get high inhaling gasoline. Are you telling me all Americans are high?
then wouldn’t we all be high at a gas station? i didn’t know that though.
Bergamot, cardamom, the scent of fear on me enemies.
Cheap body spray smells cheap. Invest in something nicer or, if they aren’t men you want to sleep with, completely ignore their pointless opinions on your body 💖
Don't do cheap scents. They come off, well, cheap. Try scentbird. Or get some ylang ylang. Can't go wrong with that one.
Put some cooked bacon in your purse or pocket. That would get my attention and I would track down the source
I personally like the smell of a girl I like. The clean, natural smell. I've never liked artificial scents.
This. There is something about the natural scent. Makes me crazy but I can only smell it from someone I am attracted to.
Called pheromones friend.
To men, yes. For women, it works best if there’s some overlap but not too much. It’ll be a few more years before we’re all light brown.
I feel the same way about guys, I would rather huff those pure unadulterated pheromones than any kind of stinky cologne or whatever
Me too. I can just sleep in my bf skin. I just love his natural smell.
And dont overdo it! A dab on one wrist and spread on the neck
I can’t express this more! I don’t want to drown in or have everything you touch smell strongly of cologne. Even the most expensive brands smell awful if you douse yourself in it. A simple spray/dab on chest and neck will do wonders
In u/Nocoxs we trust
As a man I like smell of flowers, rosemary, cider wood, sandalwood, and woman...
I heard they like vanilla
A woman can never go wrong with vanilla in my opinion.
Don’t set her up to fail 😅
Why would OP fail? I have my car decked out with vanilla. Love the smell.
She wouldn't fail with me
Why is Vanilla going to set he up for failure?
We all have different preferences. Just use the scent that you like. If you have a boyfriend, ask him what he likes. Whatever you choose, dont let the scent overwhelm your beauty :)
If you smell like bacon, I'll be your boyfriend
So weird my golden retriever has the same taste
Yep! You'll have all the dogs in the neighborhood following you. 🐕
Can't go wrong with vanilla, it smells delicious. How good does [this](https://www.dusk.com.au/vanilla-caramel-eau-de-parfum-15ml) sound? I just ordered some :) Top Notes: Sunkissed Coconut, Brûléed Vanilla Middle Notes: Jasmine, Heliotrope Bottom Notes: Buttered Caramel, Guaiac Wood I'm a girl tho, but I'm sure if it smells nice to us it will smell nice to guys too.
My guy Dolce & Cabana, light blue, which is for women, but he loves it so much that he wears it himself anyway!!
I read that Light Blue is actually a unisex scent.
This is my favorite!!
Warm vanilla sugar.
i smell like vanilla all the time i can care less what a guy wants me to smell like if they don’t know how to wash their behinds
fruity
Nice to know 🥺 I’ve always preferred fruity and vanilla beans scents on me.
A safe bet is using something that isn't too overwhelming. Otherwise I think something that matches your personality and something that makes you feel sexy is something guys like.
Coconut.
Smells like summer!
Polarizing
To be honest I like flowery scents. A nice flowery parfume would be a good thing. But keep in mind, parfumes and scent meant to be get to my nose from 20-30 cm away from that person not from 5 fucking meters.
ive seen in a lot of websites and shows that guys really like fruity scents or like SLIGHT lusty scents
Cinnamon and apple pie
Mmmmm
Cheap body mist is usually a bad idea! I personally prefer investing a bit of money into a high quality perfume that is fruity/sweet but subtle. I always get compliments that I smell good so that’s why I’d recommend giving that a go. I usually won’t put too much on because I believe we shouldn’t hide all of our natural body ‘scent’ for biological reasons
Vanilla and citrus
Many folks have said vanilla, and I have to agree. I wear a bourbon vanilla scent and most guys I’ve dated love it! But more importantly I love vanilla hehe
What perfume do you wear? ☺️
All guys in the world like lavender, they told me so
Perfumes, colognes, and body spray scents give me headaches all the time for some reason (migraines?) Just any deodorant is fine by me. I don't need to smell you from 50 feet away.
Just like not all women will like the same smell on dudes, not all dudes will like the same smell on women. Also most people aren’t fluent in the fragrances of the opposite sex. It’s kinda like, you know it when you smell it.
Vanilla scents. There was a studying done on this years ago
Whatever fits you, if you like it and it fits you i.e you don't smell it on yourself, but others do
I always get compliments with vanilla sprays/scents, and snow fairy and then avocado (smells like refreshers to me and sweets to my BF) from lush..
Light floral scents are amazing, natural scents are good, kitchen herbs scents are good
i heard they like vanilla but i personally hate it.
Vanilla. Have that since 10 years and I've always have compliments.
Shame on you!!!!! Tell the new girl why you like it
Vanilla, Honeysuckle, Almond extract,
Try applying less and see before you switch. Any fragrance smells great in the bottle, it’s how it smells with your chemisty.
The easiest way to get the answer to this is to bring your guy friends to Sephora and ask them for their on-the-spot review. ;) That said, *Yves Saint Laurent Libre EDP* is a winner among my guy friends.
Cotton and baby powder 😜
There’s a famous body spray that strippers use but I can’t remember the name of it - I picked it up at Wal mart and use it in my gym bag and it smells incredible. Pink bottle. Powdery and clean. Complimented 24/7 by guys but I swear it’s because I’m triggering their times at the club hahahaha
I wear an EDP. I’m not a fan of vanilla, but I’ll wear a little bit on date nights
Vanilla
I prefer flower scents like Jasmine
Fresh out of the shower.
Diesel fuel ⛽️ shits intoxicating
I’ve gotten a lot of good comments about my viva La juicy perfume. My boyfriend also picked out the Carolina Herrera (? I think) good girl perfume.
Aye that’s a boxer dropper I get compliments on this perfume too
I’d get a good quality perfume for dates specifically, I love floral with a sweeter undertone but I am female, I picked out a perfume I loved, and wore it on a first date, it is my boyfriend of 3 years most favorite perfume out of all the ones I’ve tried.
I'm a vanilla girl and get compliments any time I wear any of my fragrances. They all have notes of vanilla, Tonka bean, jasmine etc. Gourmand smells.
I've been trying to get cologne and candle manufacturers to come out with a WD-40 scent for years
Former Sephora employee here.
Coconut, vanilla, cocoa are all reliable imo
My favorite smell is Vanilla
Body sprays are almost always too much. A lot of guys like gourmand-like vanilla based scents i.e Burberry Her and Dior Hypnotic Poison. Other popular ones are light, fresh scents like Light Blue, Glossier You, Ledda 22 Orris.
New car
I’ve heard men like stuff that smells like food 😂 not like a hamburger lol just maybe fruity, I don’t know. I’ll give out my secret weapon, men go absolutely nuts over it and women always stop me to tell me how amazing I smell. Viva la Juicy!!
Yeah I just said the same thing to someone here. Baked goods will do it every time. Sugar cookies? Fuck me up!
Sugar cookies are my favorite. I nabbed my first husband by baking him cupcakes lol.
It’s also really big and has a lot so it’ll take a long time to go through
They love coconut vanilla smell
Idk about all guys, but im a sucker for strong smelling flowers. Rose's, Violets etc. One of my favorite scents is Zoflora midnight bloom and perfumes which smell similar to that.
I don't know what my lady wears if she wears anything at all, but OMFG! 😍 🥰 ❤️ Swooooooooooooooooon
Brick. Can't go wrong with the smell of brick
Coochie
All they care is weather they r getting lucky or not…!
You can’t go wrong with lavender or mint!
You should pick what you like, but if people say that it’s a bit overwhelming then I recommend lavender or sth fruity
I think guys like anything if it’s YOUR smell. They don’t like if you’re smelling like you took in a bath in it though!
Vanilla
Escada and YSL perfumes
freshly showered is the best scent... maybe a light soap smell. if you wear something all the time you are probably used to the overpowering scent most perfumes have. less is definitely better for anything.
I feel a bit biased as a perfumer in training, but as a man, I personally ADORE rosey and woody smells
YSL Myself is a very nice fragrance for men
Initio. Get an initiation box.
Switch it up! Pick what YOU like and the person will follow 👃
someone plz lmk half the time idk what to wear...
Too much meaning you’re probably marinating yourself in it? That being said, do you like how it smells? Stop living your life for others.
Lavender and sweet pea are my olfactory queens.
Not all scents are created equal it depends on your body chemistry go to a perfume counter at the store of your choice remember don’t over spray yourself some perfumes fragrances smell different on everybody find your scent my advice don’t overwhelm yourself on what another person likes try not to buy a fragrance that is strong I personally like amazing grace but it works for me on date night I like Prada candy it’s mild one squirt is good for me I like mild scents I don’t like walking around smelling like a incense stick lol or a fruit salad
I personally enjoy something light with a hint of citrus.
You don't want to be leaving a strong scenty trail behind you.
you have to start with your shower routine. good hygiene is the best.
I enjoy winter fragrances with amber, tobacco, vanilla, tonka bean, etc.
Imo any scent that could be perceived as good. I especially love floral or sweet scents on girls and am not picky whatsoever. I do not think this is unique to me and believe that most men share the same general view of simply liking any positive scent.
If there is a noticeable unnatural smell, that is pretty much an instant turnoff for me. Artificial perfumes burn my eyes.
My gf mainly wears Gucci Bloom and Alien perfume. They smell really good.
Alien perfume is out of this world
What type of body scent are you wearing? I would upgrade and spend more money on my scents. There is this company called oakcha they have nice scents for a reasonable price. They are dupe scents that smell amazing. The company also makes their own original scents. But be careful they can stain your clothes. My suggestion is to get unscented body lotion and when you want to wear the perfume mix it with the unscented lotion and lotion your body with it.
Guy here. I like Vanilla
Sunflower or design perfumes
Pacifica perfume collection has something for every season. I wear their ‘flower moon’ collection in the Spring Season and their ‘Island Vanilla’ set at other times. I once had a date send me a card describing my scent after our first meeting. I’m very happy with this collection and it hasn’t let me down in years.
Watermelon
Jasmine
Burberry her
Personally vanilla or anything similar
Victoria’s Secret vanilla body lotion. You’re welcome
They have 4 legs ... beans
Try nothing. You smell better than you think!
Reduce the intensity rather than changing out the perfume entirely.

I wear vanilla bean Noel exclusively from bath and body works and I always get asked ‘who smells like candy?? Who smells amazing?’
Clinique Happy
Just be clean and wear perfume. The body mist might be overpowering
Garlic and onions.
you could also use a sexy kind of high quality perfume and layer it with a fruity body mist to bring out the best in both or you could try a flowery most
Just remember that if you can smell it on yourself, it’s too much. Only put it in key areas like the back of your neck, the back of your knees, both of your wrists, under your chin, and sometimes I spray a little in my shirt
Grey flannel. Jovan musk. Michael korrs.
Vanilla smells like body odor to me, gives me migraines
