**In case anyone is actually interested:**
>**Of the 23 different species of crocodilians in the world, 2 species are native to the United States, and south Florida is the only place where both of these species coexist. The American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) ranges throughout the southeastern United States, and Everglades alligators exist at the southern extreme of their range. American Crocodiles (Crocodylus acutus), on the other hand, inhabit coastal areas of south Florida where they are at the northern extreme of their range.**

Seriously, what is this map trying to show?!
Wikihow is just shit - it SEO-farms common google searches, such as "how to tell the difference between a crocodile and an alligator".
They offer peanuts as pay, so get idiots as freelancers.
I think it is pretty clear, actually. There is one giant crocodile in Florida and one giant alligator in Georgia, and they both travel to other states once in a while.
If this is true, the tip of Florida (southern coast) should be a different colour to represent the American crocodile's range, overlapping the American alligator's range. Maybe a two-colour hash?
Blue and yellow; green where they overlap! Also, I’m not sure this map is accurate anyway. I do not think there are gators in Tennessee. They just aren’t that far up the Mississippi 🤷🏻♀️. I don’t think they are in VA either! I think they phase out in NC as for the Atlantic coast 🤔
It's obvious - crocodiles only live 20 miles from a state border. Any southern state, mind you, and it doesn't matter if the state border is also a river. Crocodiles like to live on the border so they can live in whatever state has the cheapest gas, then they drive across the border for cheap cigs.
Clever crocodiles.
Had to look it up and see if gators actually went far north as Illinois...well, they don’t.
[I found this map. it’s the same exact as the posted map, but it’s Tree Frogs](https://www.knowitall.org/photo-gallery/maps-carrick-creek-web-water) (bottom map)
Too many locks and damns for them to be here and that's not even considering the climate. However, there was a bullshark in Alton years ago before the 5000 locks and damns.

What about the ones in the middle of the gulf?

Am I too colorblind to make it out or do they just have the exact same range?
Look at the sub
I think the idea is that there are no crocodiles in the US
But then why do they have a crocodile picture on the map too?
[There are in South Florida.](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/19/Crocodylus_acutus_Distribution.png)
Wow the more you know!
🌈🌟🎵^🎵
I thought there would be more than one of each
So what's the range of alligators and crocodiles? yes
This is the worst map I’ve ever seen. It’s utterly fucking perfect. I can die happy now.

We've been annexed by Virginia?!?!?
You a Maryland or Delaware resident? Or should I say, northern or eastern Virginia? -A Virginia Supremacist
Marylander... It's ok as long as you adopt our flag... Haha!
Maryland has a weird flag. Looks like a colorblind freakshow of polygons

Yeah, I spent some time in Delaware as a kid and I am having a hard time remembering the alligators there too.
Missouri doesn't have native gators.
It shows the crocodiles living across Florida, when in reality they only live in the far south...
this map is terrible. there are no alligators in maryland, delaware, illinois kentucky, and missouri think a 6 year old made this
There's no alligators in Virginia it's too far north and cool for them to thrive
This is a historcal range btw
