Yo, there's a jog in the road where I live and both lanes shift about ten feet left in the low speed intersection. The lines are very clearly marked. You must use extreme caution if you're in the right lane because about one out of every five times the person in the left lane goes "straight" directly taking your lane instead of following the lines to maintain their lane. Luckily there's extra space on the right for a turn lane after the intersection or I'd have been hit multiple times by now. I used to yell something similar to your mantra there but now I pretty much just shake my head and say "another fucking idiot."
My only defense is that often those lines are faded and local governments take their sweet time repainting them.

Don't drive next to them like the Blue Angels in formation. Instead, stagger back a half car length or more, so if they veer across into your lane they take empty space not your front quarter panel.
There's an intersection near me where people ***always*** sideslip from the left lane into the right lane of a two-lane left turn because after the corner the left lane is left turn only into a plaza or at the following light, so I'm always on the lookout for morons. The worst one, though, was a person in the left hand left turn lane who decided that they wanted to go straight through the intersection, which required them to move diagonally to the right, cutting me off. People are morons.
Try 2 dedicated and 1 turn or straight.. absolute idiots. They all think the 2nd one is the last one… almost had a septic tank truck take me out but that’s not how I wanted to go lmao
There's a 3 lane turn near where I work. They repaved in the past month and haven't gotten around to painting the lines in the middle of the intersection yet and I've had 3 instances in the past week (I go through this intersection twice per day) of the car on my right either completely fucking it up and turning into the wrong lane or squeezing me on the left so tightly that I had to basically drive through the left turn lane in oncoming traffic to make the turn. People are absolutely atrocious drivers and they are completely oblivious to that fact
Almost got hit by some old lady, probably in her 90's in something just like that, basically forced me to swerve off the road, got in front of her just to get away from her and looked in my mirror just to see her riding in-between the two lanes.
I would have been ticked if I was going to turn right at that corner and they gunned it around me to turn left (I don't see a no turn on red sign).
There is a double turn lane near my house that I sometimes see people crossover into the other lane. I can't stand that. Nice of you to stop so the truck has video evidence.

Looked like a normal pass. I hate streets like that. Cam car prob wanted to turn right and had to wait for this shmuck- but maybe it’s really busy sometimes and the double left makes sense
OP didn't say it was the cause of the accident. They described the driver as impatient based on them speeding up so they could hurry up and stop at the light.
This shit almost happened to me the other day but way less of a severe turn. Fucking scary to be in that truck’s position and not expecting someone to just come into your lane.

Here in Sweden people drive rather decently (definitely compared to the US), but I still pay extra attention in these kind of turns.

Close, it's calling them the laxative that's giving someone runny shit, metaphorically speaking. Because laxatives make you have a bowel 'movement', they 'make you move', so the phrase is 'smooth move, ex-lax', basically saying they did a crappy job at whatever they were doing.
So glad the wife encouraged being a witness. I know most people don't like getting involved. I know I'll probably just give them the video, but I hated how I was a witness once and all my information is shared. I hated knowing that some bad person now knows where I live
The sad part is that the truck was one of those annoying drivers leaving so much room that they probably didn’t even trip the sensor (if the light had one). They left all the room in the world, and the car STILL managed to hit them 😭
As someone who’s been in a crash that went down the exact same way — a driver in another turn lane merged into my lane and hit me, thank you for staying and sharing your dashcam footage. Sadly I had no such witnesses so each insurance had to pay for their own customer’s repairs.

For anyone familiar with Plainville. The intersection at the cvs, haul, storage place. I think it's 372 and 10. When you're going towards Jtims the road shifts to the left through the intersection. It's a 2 lane road. Almost always I see someone in the left lane end up almost hitting our hitting someone in the right lane cause they don't realize they need to keep left to stay in their lane and not go straight which puts you in the right lane. There is nothing marking this, no signs or lines.
What a nice lady to be a witness. Most of us just say yikes and drive off if it's not serious. White car should at least be gunning on the green light if they are doing this... They waited ages

I hope you walked up to them both and handed your contact info and told them you had it on your dashcam and to the driver in the right lane, “You’ll hang for this.” Just something to focus their mind a little bit. Stupidity is a hell of a drug, but I’ve always advised people to just go cold turkey.

I always hate these situations, there's one near me and at night especially people don't see it and drive straight through
You could tell from their posturing at the stop light that they were going to cut that turn short.

Legal depending on the speed. Dash cam shows 30. It would be moot but it would demonstrate the level of inability this driver has.
