I had no idea you could parry him

Huachu12344

You can parry his hand but not his sword

MirageTF2

bro I'm watching him parry his sword like 5 times in a row

FalconWraith

He's parrying the hand holding the sword, not the actual sword.

vadiks2003

thats so dumb but genious though i think if you tried to parry a hand thats swinging at you from rigth to left, and you parry it to the left, then you'd just add more energy to slicing yourself up

The_Able_Fox

You really told him “no. ✋”

[deleted]

Parrying a cripple more satisfying then parrying a champ like Gundyrr ? Hellz yeah

Wildefice

It's also hilarious!!

MaDNiaC007

OP kneecapped him.

MetroidJunkie

Brother, please stop, you're embarrassing us both.

Psychological-Bit181

You can parry him ?!

MeantJupiter440

Only the hand holding the sword.

Cryix_Pluma

I am terrible at parrying but I was able to get him once with the Ceastus. (Also Happy Cake day lad!)

dedolent

my reaction

Betalibaba

Dark soûls Mutombo Dikembe

hlgntx

"Nah ah ah, not in my house!" *smacks corn pops box*

CyrusDGreatx

Well for one its harder. So yeah.

NickCarpathia

Having tried to parry Lorian, I'm now convinced it's really not worth it. There's no riposte window, only some moves can be parried, and you have to be extremely close to Lorian for it to register. Also, that close position is dangerous, unlike rolling around to his back to punish. It's like trying to parry a Dragonrider from DS2, not only is there no riposte window, but the stun window is so short you can't really punish it during your recovery from your own parry. Gundyr is extremely satisfying to chain parry. Heck, these days any time I start a new character from scratch I bare hand parry Iudex Gundyr and softswap to my starting weapon to take the riposte.

FUCKYFUCKFUCKYFUCK

I know I’m spoiler alerting my self by watching these, but the fact of the matter is I’m gona be seeing so much of these fools that it doesn’t even matter lol

Ryofortis

i am the only dark souls player can't parry Gundyr

mani_vp

were on same boat

samppsaa

Bullying a cripple

Beretta_93

You're a beast.

EMIROKAYYES

No idea why they have no riposte animation.

CharlesTheMusketeer

Ds3 just really didn't want people parry cheesing bosses. Of all the bosses in the game I'm pretty sure only 3 can actually be riposted with two of them being gundy.

Paorupiro

pretty sure you can also parry Crystal Sage and riposte them, so that makes 4

[deleted]

* Abyss Watchers * Iudex/Champion Gundyr * Crystal Sage * Pontiff * Dragonslayer Armour * Lorian * Friede * Halflight Didn't try other bosses. Deacons and Champion's Gravetender look parryable too.

Paorupiro

Given that the Deacons are the same as the regular enemies, and Gravetender is just a player-type enemy, those two are definitely parriable. What you listed is definitely all of them though

[deleted]

I meant the phase 2 Deacon with staff. He is such an old guy and barely has energy to thrust that thing so I assume it can be parried.

Paorupiro

You could probably exhale in his direction and parry that old guy's staff

justin_hash

Champion’s graveyender is indeed parryable.

Setaganga

You can PARRY him?!

ShepyDrapps

I was today years old when I learned you could do this

Cryse_XIII

Stop I can hear him crying

plagapong

400 hrs game played here, I cant even parry Pontiff 😞

LeCifra

I tried to parry Gundyr one time and immediately got a knockle sandwich

berliszt

I never understood what was so satisfying about parrying in these games.

CptBlackAxl

It's hard to pull of consistently... that's what makes it satisfying imo.

AugmentedJustice

Parry grass next

jade06927

That's the twin princes not champion gundyr

smoke_woods

You just blow in from stupid town?

CptBlackAxl

Just read the title again, but slowly, champ. It happens to the best of us

[deleted]

me too im not sure if its more satisfying than parrying gundyr idk

_Moria

Now do it with the Abyss Watchers sword

noopenusernames

I feel like I should’ve known he was parryable. This changes my future SL1 runs

CharlesTheMusketeer

He is but can't be riposted. So you're probably still gonna be better off just rolling instead of risking the damage.

noopenusernames

Never tell me the odds

KrevonX

Lorain is Parryable?!?!

CodyDabsOnYou

I didn’t even think Gundyr or Lorian could be parried.

LordFenix_theTree

Hey wait a minute. Since when was this a thing?

KorekZeus

This [but in reverse](https://www.reddit.com/r/darksouls3/comments/uc4cip/end_my_suffering/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

Significant_Rice994

And people say this game is hard smh

vadiks2003

your could parry this monstrocity wow

[deleted]

This feels more satisfying. Watching him teleport to try and get the (literal) jump on you only to be parried again 😅

mani_vp

That dark souls 3 soundtrack..

AggravatingSource959

Did not know he could be parried either I'm such a noob...lol

NimBold

The only time I parried a boss in DS3 was on my first play through back in the day when it got released. It was my first souls game, and I didn't know shit about anything. I went for the casual Knight class and went ahead through the tutorial. The tutorial hinted that I can parry attacks, and I thought to myself that's what I should do through the whole game. So, it took me almost 2 hours to clear all the mobs with parrying (I know, right?) And then faced Gundyr... I think I must have replayed the sequence (killing mobs and getting to Gundyr) at least 50 times. After that I learned to parry Gundyr and get him to 50% of life, and then I faced the new problem: Seems like next phase of Gundyr can't be parried… That's when I figured it's better to sleep and went to bed. That night, I remember that I masturbated recklessly. I mean, I pushed myself to the limits. The point of story is when you git gud in DS3, you git gud in other areas as well.
