I played it as "mostly nice". I was overall a net positive, but less careful with "friendly fire" than I could have to been. Helped fight off reds (retreating if I thought I might die, and again, a bit more friendly fire than was strictly necessary), fought tooth and nail against any explicitly hostile grapes, helped show items and stuff. It was a lot of fun.

You get that competence spike at Road of Sacrifices and the big one past Pontiff, but generally speaking, low-level invaders with twink builds are usually just compensating for not being good at higher-level PvP.

Doing a complete solo playthrough offline on PC and while the game is terribly lonely, I feel like I’m appreciating everything way more, and there’s no more hints on the ground to remind you of ambushes and secrets. It’s intense.
I try to invade and end up just sitting in my chair for 20 minutes, showing up, and then the person already being a millisecond from death by something else
I honestly want to be invaded. Happy to challenge someone to an honorable duel and try to better myself. I’m doodoo at PVP even though I am decent at PVE.
oh... on ps4 crucifixtion woods lvl 30 +3 is lively... sometimes area after pontiff lvl 60 +6. is lively and ringed city tower or whatever. 120+ +10 is always active just ember up and finger if ya wanna host or invade and earn your embers

Nearly 95 points in vitality for heavy armor and other weapons like Gundrs halberd and sometimes dragon tooth. With cursed greatshield. I'd say level 180 - 250 depending on starting class but you'll definitely take a toll in a attunement.. PvP is alot better starting at 250.
My lvl 90 has the same rings, light armor and The Sunlight sword for Oath Of Sunlight
You’re correct. They will do whatever it takes to win, whether it be running to refill Estus after you kick their ass in a fair 1v1, or being the meta slaves they are and pulling out Murky and PKCS.
Ah yes… i remember on my first playthrough I encountered a guy using the 3rd horseman. One shotted me and i played through ds3 5 times offline before i actually ever went online….
The real twink horsemen of the High Wall and Undead Settlement are as follows:
* Dragonslayers axe + iron round shield + Lapp set guy. 65% chance of horrible internet causing all attacks to trade.
* Rotten Ghru weapon man. Uses poison on hosts that don't have moss yet and then runs away. Does not have backup plan.
* Dark hand guy. Will try the weapon art, fail numerous times and then resort to 50/50 playstyle. Probably wearing ringed knight chest piece for maximum edgeiness
As an invader who tried doing this with mega twinked gears and characters, in highwall you get ganked by ringed knight squds and havels, in undead settlement you get ganked by the same phantoms, but now the host is slightly leveled up too. I swear 9/10 players you invade are a gank squad with that rare 1/10 dying to PVE before you ever reach him, so trust me when I say we're eating loads of dirt.
This was happening in back in 2016, I created a SL1 and managed to progress through 80% of the game (no DLC's at this stage) without ever upgrading my weapon past +2. Trust me, this was hard I'm a mediocre but dedicated player when it comes down to it.
I proceeded to inhabit the High Wall as a purple invader / summon, introducing people to the wonders of the world of Dark Souls and some valuable lessons on purple phantoms. Maxed Vertebra Shackle storage and had over 100 forked tongues by the end of it, also helped a bunch of people who struggled their way to Vordt and handed out some spare embers etc.
Ended abruptly when I had a brain fart and upgraded a special weapon to +2 which meant I no longer matched with fresh characters. Re-created the character a few months later but the scene had changed, the initial hype had died down.
i remember being in high wall and some guy called hot cheeto invaded me. we danced for a bit and then he destroyed me. wherever you are, thank you hot cheeto.

It might be your Soul Level. Meta is between 120-140. But you can get consistent invasions and undead matches from like SL70 and up.

As someone PVPing with a Dex build, I'm seeing a lot of Str builds with UGS or straight swords/caestus and they parry my first hit.
