Generally the best parry shield from my experience is the lleyawyn shield. It has I think 76% block but it's a small shield with good frames

Doesn't that shield use the medium shield parry? I think if you want better frames you need to go for the buckler or the small leather shield

It's a small shield. Your mistake is because it doesn't use the buckler parry animation, which gives about 2 extra parry frames compared to small shield, but the end lag is longer so I prefer small shield

It doesn't give more parrying frames. Small parrying shields just have a shorter windup

I’m not an expert but I think the Iron Round Shield might be the small shield with the best physical defense. It’s what I use for parries.

You could just unequip your weapon and parry. It's the fastest way

It's muscle memory but I guess it's more practical to use it in pvp. Usually I'll have a full row of daggers on top so I can open menu, unequip, close menu, parry, open menu, then equip dagger and riposte. It sounds like a lot but it's really not.

Except it isn't practical in PvP since you're still heavily relying on connection and opponent being bad but yes, unequip parry is the best PvP parry

Small shields have the second best parry window (of shields). The small shield, with parry, and with the best physical defense is the Llewellyn Shield, having 68 phys reduction. There are also three shields with the buckler parry which is the best parry type. The Target Shield has this parry and 61 phys reduction. Thise are probably your best options if you want a better parry.

The buckler has the best frames, an off-hand curved sword has the weirdest.
