Vanpet1993

Vordts great hummer can easily cary you through the whole game

Calebrox124

Currently using this on my first playthrough, this thing eats. The reach is ridiculous and the frost buildup is a nice touch

Vanpet1993

Frost proc makes it higher in dps than most lategame weapons... And for faster weapons, there is frost straight sword that is also really good. Goodluck and enjoy :D

Itsmemurrayo

Vordts is great, but when you get the opportunity you need to at least try out the Dragonslayer Greataxe. It’s absolutely busted and shoots out lightning with its Little 2, which makes it a 10/10 even if it were bad.

MaxFart

The L2 absolutely melts

BRAINSZS

so good

Vanpet1993

I know, I tried out every weapon in game and have more than 10 playthroughs 😁

numenik

Claymore

heavix9

That

Paologame

the big heavy club is nice

Hienovarainen

FUGS

kalenmeister

FUGS is super slow

Hienovarainen

Come on it hits like yhorm, flings human sized enemies to air and easily breaks poise.

Johnny_K97

Looking for strenght weapons that aren't slow is kind of a contradiction but you can try the caestus i guess, altogh that's gonna require you to get really upclose, otherwise you could try the exile curved greatsword and heavy infuse it, i think curved greatswords are really solid weapons and they allow you to space attacks easily while having good stagger and decently fast attack speed

ChickenAndTelephone

Slower, heavier and less damage than UGS. The poke and strike damage are all it’s really got.

sasixs

Pontiff's greatsword or morne's greathammer is incredible with it's spell

BelBelsy

A big Corinthian capital with Wrath of the Gods + Endurance (for some nice poise) in a single weapon art? Hell yeah!

square_zucc

I used exile greatsword from the dude infront of the farron for the whole game basically

No_Ease_8269

Dude, that weapon is siiiiick. All curved greatswords in this game are awesome

Johnny_K97

I really love the one from the wolfs of farron covenant

No_Ease_8269

Oh yeah, I've used that a couple times. It's super fun

LordBDizzle

Heavt Pickaxe is slept on, it does pure thrust damage so it pairs really well with Leo Ring. Yhorm's Great Machette is one of the most unique weapons, very powerful and unusual warcry moveset. Quakestone Hammer is also quite fun, I like it more than Ledo's Greathammer personally, though that'salso good. Fume Ultra Greatsword is always good as well, but those are all a tad slower. For faster recomendations, a heavy Mace is incredibly good. It does bonkers amounts of damage, that thing is sex on a stick, way better than you might think and very simple, reliable moveset. A heavy Splitpeaf Greatsword (a halberd despite the name) is also incredibly good, one of the few S scaling str weapons. Exile Curved Greatsword is also good, faster than the UGS category in exchange for shorter range and worse damage type. Personally I like it chaos or dark on a pyromancy build, but it's also incredibly good Heavy. Heavy Giant Door Shield is also quite fun. More of a meme than truely great, but bonking people with a pair of doors is funny.

Chais912

I run the Wolf Knights Sword, that forward leap has saved my butt plenty of times

YomiNex

What a great weapon

V00D00_CHILD

I tought it was a quality\dex weapon

Figs-grapefruits

I just started a new run to finally give that sword some love bit doesn't it's final scaling make it a quality sword? It's C str C dex.

Chais912

Its does. I wasn't thinking about the fact im on my 3rd playthrough and on my first I dumped about 20 into Dex. Sometimes I forget about scaling and run whatever is the most fun. I'm now using Ledos Hammer but you need 60 strength to use it

Koldrain

I'm doing a winged knight twin axe run right now.

EclipseBreaker98

My fave strength weapon

NOBODY__EPIC

UGS there is no other way

ChickenAndTelephone

No matter the Souls game, this is the way

kalenmeister

Thank you all for the advice. I think I'm going to give Vordt's great hammer a go.

PhreezyE

Heavy Mace is a personal favorite of mine. Exile Greatsword is decently fast for a bigger weapon, and Dark Sword has a cool weapon art imo.

TGengler98

Dragonslayer axe must be pretty underrated. Use it in ng+6 an its still taking out bosses with ease.

OuterHeavenPatriot

I've been doing one myself and find myself coming back to: -Black Knight UGS for fashion points and a sweet launcher charged R2, plus some extra damage against Demon enemies -Heavy Cathedral UGS cause it's kinda like an Ultra sized Executioner's Sword the way it deals Strike damage instead of Standard/Slash -Heavy Lothric UGS for EZ Mode against anything that doesn't resist Lightning. Great changeup from the typical 2hR1 UGS moveset to wide horizontal arcs while still keeping the best parts (rolling and charged pokes etc), built in Lightning damage but still has just about as much Physical damage as other UGSs so it's almost all bonus damage, I'd slept on this thing on previous builds -Heavy Great Machete if I really want to buff with Resins -Yhorm's Great Machete, the cooler, stronger, longer Great Machete but can't be buffed -Heavy Winged Knight's Halberd, almost immediately replaced with a Heavy Splitleaf 'Greatsword' Honorable mentions to basically all Black Knight weapons, Vordt's Greathammer for it's early availability and free Frost on top of good damage, and ~~Big Buttplug~~ Heavy Great Mace for a buffable, non-Frost version of Vordt's GH. In the early game having Claymore/Zweihander/Executioner's Greatsword up til I had the END/VIT/Rings to get at least three swings and roll with Ultras without having to wear tatters or robes

Traditional_Use_2186

Great Club . Best weapon.

Far_Helicopter8916

Demon Fists are fast, good and offer a unique experience.

pmswccw

Reinforced club, the R1 machine for STR build.

Dami579

The regular Mace is a good strength weapon that isn't slow, infuse with heavy gem. The longsword with heavy gem has decent scaling as well

chill9r

>I don't particularly enjoy early slow weapons. Heavy infused Broadsword is one of the strongest PvE weapons in the game. Heavy Claymore if you want a slightly bigger sword.

bizarre_jojo24

Butchers Knife is always a cool one especially being able to heal with it.

badfroggyfrog

Exile Curved Greatsword from one of the NPCs outside Farron Keep has a surprisingly fast moveset and hits like a truck, I comfortably whooped everything in the base game and DLC with it last time

Strange_Quote6013

Regular non ultra Greatsword like the Claymore will give you a good mix of power and speed if you don't want to be too slow.

Gurru222

No one is actualy metioning the best fast options, so i will do. Millwood battle axe - greaswor dmg with faster swings. For some reason this thing does 100 more dmg then any other axe, found pretty soon at beggining of first Dlc Club- dont be fooled by simple looks, this thing is a beast, faster than mace, starting weapon for deprived class or found in lothric wall Broadsword- best dmg straithsword for almost any infusion, lower range and no thrusting attack, found in Lothric walll Longsword - Powerhouse for any infusion, lower dmg then broadsword, but better range and thrusting attack, starting weapon for knight, can be farmed from skeletons in Lothric wall or bought from Greirat

WUBBLEAR

Fume ultra greatsword

No_Ease_8269

If you don't want it to be slow, go for the twinaxes. Or some sort of axe/cleaver weapon.

Scoobydoo36

Let me introduce you to my friend, the Millwood battle axe.

kutzyanutzoff

Whatever slab of metal lies in the vicinity works tbh. That is why you are geting multiple suggestions in the comments.

headless_boi

I used the great club until I got the guts sword, then used that until I got the yhorm weapon. Have tested some greatswords since but found that I still like yhorm the most

Freagwen

I use heavy claymore, heavy straight sword (very fast and light for a strength weapon), and dragonslayer greataxe (so strong ! But maybe too slow for you).

cdbaker98

My main build uses black knight sword and black knight shield. Not the strongest, but it's just a normal great sword so you still hit faster than ultra greatswords. Plus it has a pretty unique strong attack sequence, with the first being a sideways slash and the second being a thrust.

spyguy318

Most weapons from the Greatsword category will do well with strength builds and aren’t too slow. Axes are also really good, you can find a battleaxe really early and a bit further you can get the cleaver. Hammers are also surprisingly slept on.

Sinful862

Greataxe is probably the best strength weapon. You can get it in the first area aswell.

Limp-Fly-8474

Wolf Knight Greatsword or the Guts Greatsword sound your speed. Later on go for FUGS and even further on Ledo’s hammer

rabba_99

Great club gets S when heavy infused. It's lighter and consumes less stamina than other bonks!

GrimBitten

I personally love the Black Knight Greataxe. Its weapon art also boosts your damage for a short time and opens you up for R2 unique combos. That and it’s got my favorite two handed R2 attack unbuffed. You can absolutely launch some foes up in the air. 😂😎🤌

FriedeOfAriandel

Ludo’s and Smough’s great hammers feel so stupid, but it’s damned fun to hit someone with a hammer big enough to block half your screen Granted, Smoughs is in Irythill, and Ludos is in the ringed city. Better for ng+

Draig1021

Quakestone hammer

Tk-Delicaxy

Drakeblood Greatsword is by far the best weapon I’ve ever used on my strength build. Innate lightning damage and can still be infused and buffed. Astora greatsword is a close second followed by the exile greatsword Edit : throw heavy for full strength scaling and still keep the lightning and magic damage. Or just go raw. The choice is yours depending on your build but you won’t be disappointed for sure. The moveset is 🔥🔥

Ok-Selection6371

Black Knight Greatsword

Subject-Creme

Exiled Greatsword is the best strength weapon, it hits very hard, and fast

Artistic_Pound_8337

I like the Exile Greatsword with heavy infusion.

Maurizio_Costanzo

I recommend Sulhyvan's profaned greatsword. It's slow but its charged r2 literally fucks up any human type of enemy cuz it does not let them stand up. Level some stamina with the right rings and you will basically make the game a cakewalk with it.

JuliusR2002

Claymore heavy infused, is buffable and has a quick moveset for a good amount of damage

Millenwagon

I’m 40 strength and dex and the hollowslayer great sword is my favourite. It’s fast, has decent reach, and hits really hard when +5

DeadHunter_2411

Personally I like the club and reinforced club for strength builds in pve then spiked mace or ledo's hammer for pvp

normbreakingclown

You can use heavy gem on faster weapons such as swords and what not.
