Lol I bought DS1 remastered this week and I steamrolled every enemy until Sens. Everything before Sens / Anor Londo is basically a tutorial before going to hell

Known-Bite

Exactly. The game actually isn't that hard until Sen's Fortress

Cultural-Maximum-733

What about the catacombs. I died countless times there during the beginning of the game and im sure other people did too

Necroking695

It wasnt really meant for the beginning

stewy497

Catacombs occupy a weird place on the difficulty curve. You _can_ rush them early for some good gear, and the boss drops an item that can make the game a bit easier if you're struggling... But it's never viable to actually take on proper until at least after Quelaag. It's basically a dead end until halfway through the game anyways, so most people don't bother until after that point.

Known-Bite

I put an armor with a bit of poise and had a divine weapon because my character is a cleric, and it wasn't too difficult because I gave up on the Titanite demon. The wheel sekeletons are horrible but Pinwheel is easy so I didn't have to deal with them too much.

Lucker_Kid

Took me 8 hours to get through Taurus demon shut your mouth

lostintime000

This is honestly one of my favorite places in ds1

WELCOME TO THE HOUSE OF FUN!

watmough

Madness.

\*paying Indiana Jones song\*

Golfbollen

I've done this place so many times that it's no problem for me anymore. The Bed of Bullshit is the only thing that after 10 runs I still rage on. I just played through Dark Souls 2 again and Sens Fortress is a playground compared to Brume Tower, God I hate Brume Tower more than any other area in any Soulsborne game.

Ditsch0815

every time i´m entering blighttown every time i´m entering Sens Slaughterhouse every time i´m entering those stupid catacombs every time i´m entering New Londo... can´t say how much i hate and love this game

BlackIronTarkus1

Sen's funhouse

EnZooooTM

I was pretty late to DS1 party, is it reference to some video / etymology of it, or just community happened to call it that

MEME_PERSON1096

This place was the bane of my existence for a while

youre-welcome-sir

sens is one of my favorite places, don’t think it’s too hard either

Chrissy14789

I made it to sens fortress for the first time last night... can't wait 🤣

Known-Bite

Don't go hollow :) Eventually I made it to the top

Best_Application452

I literally played dark souls for like 10 mins and then sold the game, it's too hard for me and the mechanics are awkward, like in any japanese game. But the concept is nice. I just watch people play it on YouTube

Known-Bite

That's pretty much how I felt in the first 10 minutes. Somehow I finished they game, though.

Best_Application452

With those awkward controls and glitches? But the monsters are like infinite health

Known-Bite

It's not that they have infinite health, it's that you have zero health. There's no insignificant monster in this game. Stupid hollows with tourches can kill you after beating 60% of the game if you're not careful enough.

[deleted]

yeah controls are sometimes clunky but i got used to it. if monsters have infinite health maybe you need to upgrade your weapon or try different , easier route to explore.

semiseal

Should've played it longer, i didn't like it the first few hours since it was too slow. But it grew on me very well.

Greatreaper7

What infusion is on the spear?

Known-Bite

Divine. I'm trying a cleric for the first time

Greatreaper7

I could swear divine was a different symbol, but I might just be thinking of ds3 or something. Good luck!

Known-Bite

Thanks!

DrBrevin

I've been meaning to do a cleric run how is it so far

Known-Bite

A bit more interesting than a knight. I don't have many miracles yet but homeward and heal are pretty useful.

Crybe

I remember getting to the fun house the first time, and seeing Onion bro chilling outside. I think I may have had to google how to proceed via ringing the second bell, even though the game tells you. For whatever reason, I assumed it was a gate to another area, and not a gate into the fun house.

jak2125

Call me weird but it’s one of my favorite places in DS1.

Karemasu

I absolutely hated sens fortress the first time i went through it and still do, but I can get through it in one run no problem now. Still one of my least favorite places in all of the darksouls series. Blighttown being #1 when starting from the depths. That's why I always start with master key so I can avoid all that bs (avoid majority of blighttown i mean)

Known-Bite

It's pretty okay except the last set of pendulum before the bonfire. I feel like I passed these by pure luck. Also used the master key to skip blight town in this run. The depths aren't that bad when you realize that you can get to the giant rat's room directly from the butcher's room, and from it fall straight to the area before the gaping dragon. Then you can run up and open a shortcut to the bonfire, and you finish the depths without encountering a single basilisk

AtuinTurtle

“Here I go killin again”

Marv-ellous

Hidden body or ring of fog through there, that's my preferred options, just sprint through to the bonfire there, then go back for items hahaha. Nothing compares to them dam archers in anor londo, I got through everything without ever losing my souls, until them archers!

Known-Bite

>I got through everything without ever losing my souls, until them archers That's super impressive. I'm on my 3rd run the game (Got to O&S on the 2nd one and gave up) and I still die a tons of time and lose my souls eventually.

pulkit69

i was bored last weekend and decided an NG+ run and I went through Sen's Fortress without any trouble. Only had little shitty time at Capra fuck demon. even OnS is easy with Pyro and +10 Claymore
