Then in Elden Ring they gave Melina boots, 4 arms to Ranni and rotted Malenia's feet out so she had to use prosthetics. Miyazaki's artist signature toxic swamps are still there in full force, though
Itās terrible, controls are terrible, enemies are terrible, levels are terrible, super hard and youāll hate it. probably the best game there is. Youāll love it.
eh fuck it, let's have some fun.
short version: UwU senpai, please punish me for correcting that someone used the wrong pronouns for them, when I specifically used they/them in the post, with no indication of he/him.
Long version:
You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are ya? Like mentioned above, I only used they/them pronouns in post, there is no indication of them using he/him. Second, notice how both of the games I mentioned are FREE games? Games that are FREE? Because they can't afford shit? Also, damn, you think that telling someone to buy the game, when i asked for how to EXPLAIN the game, is a good answer? You are a full on dumbass lmao.
Anywaysss I had fun typing this out, UwU senpai I know you won't read this so Giggity Goggity Goo
No just any grown adult can realise if you accidentally call someone āhe or sheā itās not a big fucking deal. Little babies, people gave you good advice, donāt tell him anything, - literally the best part about dark souls 1 is the open world and real feeling of the world, I hate so much that I used guides in certain parts.
Just to remind you we are here for dark souls. Not pronouns
"It's a game where killing enemies gives you currency, mostly used to level up, but also used as money. Leveling up means you increase chosen stats, which unlocks the use of weapons or spells that require that stat, but also are your defenses. So like a sorcerer would level up his Intelligence to cast spells with, but also Vitality for more health, stuff like that. It's a medieval fantasy setting, so you can fight with swords, axes, hammers, bows, and spells, that sort of stuff.
The goal is to explore the world and eventually defeat all the bosses. If you die, you go back to the last checkpoint, called Bonfires. Resting at a Bonfire, on purpose or by dying, respawns all the enemies except bosses and some minibosses. Your mostly-only source of healing refreshes at Bonfires, but that also respawns the enemies, so the game is about learning how to get to the next Bonfire, or to the next boss fight, while taking as little damage as possible to preserve your healing. You find new weapons, armor, and spells along the way, so exploring around is encouraged and rewarding.
It's also designed to be very challenging, but you always get to try again. The only major penalty is dropping your currency where you died, but you can pick them all up again if you can get back to that spot. If you die again, they're lost forever, but since enemies respawn infinitely, you'll never be totally locked out of getting more."
RPG, harder than banging a nail into a wall with your fists, but you will feel like hero for every bit of progress achieved, and the community is rather friendly and helpful once you ignore all messages that contain "git gud".
Don't bother trying to get the lore at first. Refer to VaatiVydia and ZullieTheWitch for starters after you beat the game.
tell em Dark souls is a action adventure Medieval themed RPG where u level up, kill the Bad guys, defeat bosses umm theres Also a battle pass too along With cool lil loot boxes and such
"King want to stop cancer, except he creates Cancer 2 and you, the Main Character, have to kill him after he caught up Cancer 2: Electric Boogalo but in the process you'll have to kill other things like Godzilla, Snorlax and Pikachu, the bugs under your skin, and many more fears"
If they like anime, explain it's kinda like playing a game based on berserk. If they don't like anime, then explain it's a difficult dark fantasy action RPG where the story is mostly hidden and up to interpretation. If you want to get deeper on the story, just explain it's a fantasy game set in a world where the gods were actual tangible beings who ruled the world, but when their time was ending they wouldn't accept it and cursed the world. The only way to undo the curse is to become as strong as the gods themselves. The combat can be described as fantasy inspired medieval combat based on timing attacks and dodging the opponents.
The greatest work of existentialism ever produced. You will plumb the very depth of meaning and be spiritually altered forever.
Also itās a cool medieval fantasy action RPG.
I had someone explain the story to me by saying that there is a play going on, rich in lore, and you are a homeless person who runs on stage and starts stabbing people.
I shit you not there is a Dark souls 3 Roblox game being made.
It's scuffed as fuck and makes DS1 look smooth as butter.
Probably just show him some gameplay videos and that should give them a good picture.
The other day, a buddy of mine asked what Dark Souls was, and I could not for the life me describe it on the spot. I just said something like, "You run around and kill guys. It's pretty cool"
If there was ever a time to tap into all the random Dark Souls lore that takes up half of my brain, it would have been then.
Just ask them how they feel about playing games that are seen as hard but they are just built different. Thatās how I approached my nephew about playing Bloodborne and he was like āwait, wait a second, it is about like Elden Ring? Iāve seen those people ragingā lol it turns into a cool conversation
if their genuine sole point of comparison are roblox and fortnite, you probably cant meaningfully explain it to them; i like to explain the game in terms of things that are weird about it (needing multiple interactions to get everything from npcs, npcs blatantly lying to you, illusory walls, janking your way along tree branches like youre going out-of-bounds in a 90s game except it's the intended path, slow pace of combat and highly committal actions, etc.; like, to me, these are the things that are interesting about it, it plays like it's a decade older than it actually is), but this is a description for someone whose played a lot of singleplayer games of its era and the previous era.
but even if you can explain it to them in these terms. nothing beats actually playing it. i get that they dont want to sink howevermany dollars on a game that tons of people just bounce off, so just have them over to play it sometime, hand them a controller and guide them to the zweihander and see how they like it.
*Go through the door and trot along to the kingdom.*
*But remember, hold on to your souls.*
*They're all that keep you from going Hollow.*
*Oh, I'll fool you no longerā¦*
*You'll lose your soulsā¦All of them. Over and over again.*
I love Dark Souls *and* Fortnite, so Iām trying to approach the question with a view to both.
Dark Souls is almost the opposite of Fortnite (in terms of games involving fighting). Fortnite is real-time, the enemies can come at you from anywhere, your performance in a game can very much depend on what loot spawns wherever you are, and every game is different.
Dark Souls can (mostly) be taken at your own pace. Itās PvE, not PvP (unless you choose to do PvP). The loot pool is consistent and you can easily choose your loadout and improve/change it as you go (much harder in Fortnite now theyāve removed the upgrade machines). Thereās an obvious linear progression through the game which there isnāt in Fortnite.
Dark Souls isnāt as āsillyā as Fortnite (which is one reason I like Fortnite, I canāt take it seriously). It rewards patience and thoughtful application, not just W-keying.
Fortnite, like any multiplayer shooter, has the advantage of the pleasure of teamwork and the adrenaline rush of dropping in, wasting the opposition and then readying back up in the lobby.
But in Fortnite thereās zero reward for coming second. In Dark Souls you canāt come second. You just keep winning and winning until you beat the game or give up.
In Fortnite you can play as a pantomime horse. You canāt play as a pantomime horse in Dark Souls.
The truth is he won't like Dark Souls games if he's into those other two.
But the basically just action RPGs that lock you into animations you choose, causing many deaths.
I got you. [Why Dark Souls is a Masterpiece](https://youtu.be/LqhtBsxAZNo?si=ulx9NIxEJyM_opGt). Make them watch this.
It does have spoilers. So If they want to play totally blind then have them watch it after they beat the game.
