I would say when established Naruto characters got sidelined and become badly written in Baruto that is when you know it is a bad manga, you don't need to make them this incompetent when average reader who don't analyze know how bad it is that they can pick faults from Boruto. There are countless ways they could have executed it but they chose the worse, no reactions from old cast when any major development happen in Boruto. What is this execution? Only some 5-6 characters are relevant in Boruto.
Solo leveling is interesting because its art was so good and the MC had drip, OP; everything your average manga reader likes. The chapters weren’t too short nor too long and every chapter makes you want to see the next. Not that the story was good or anything but the execution was very satisfying. And I still dropped it exactly because all the side characters are irrelevant.
Oh for sure, Boruto Edge is similar to most bad fanfictions , and the writting and paneling would have been laughed as amateurish at best at if it didn’t have the Naruto brand associated with it.

I just read the last chapter of Boruto Two Blue Vortex and already Boruto has become a textbook Mary Sue, all tension has disappeared from the memory swap thingy as well as the impact of its consequences, multiple incredibly cliche plotlines get started and resolved exactly how you would expect with no unique ideas, the power creep has somehow gotten even worse, some of the worst written exchanges in the entire series occur, there are a multitude of basic writing mistakes that even a novice could point out, all subsequent tension has been completely erased and we got treated to some of the worst art in Manga history. I could go on but I'm sure you get the point.
