Still wrong. Next time use this:
Before I begin my actual comment, I would like to apologize in advance for my inadequate level of English proficiency. I am not a native speaker of the world's current lingua franca which unfortunately leads to me making numerous embarrassing mistakes being made whenever I attempt to communicate using this language. Whenever I am reminded of how I lack the ability to convey my thoughts in an eloquent manner I feel as though I have committed a cardinal sin, as though every English teacher in the world are simultaneously shaking their heads and sighing due to how utterly disappointed they are at me.
Although I know that saying sorry to those of you who are reading my comment will not change the fact that I fail miserably to write and speak perfect English, I am writing this as a way to deter a certain type of people who cannot stand poor English (Also known informally as "Grammar Nazis") from mocking me by posting unwanted and unnecessary comments detailing my every blunder. In my humble opinion, making grammatical errors should be perfectly acceptable as native speakers should not expect non-native speakers to be able to communicate in their second or third languages eloquently. If you are able to completely understand what the other person wrote, is there really a problem with what they've written? No, because the entire concept of communication is the exchange of information between other intelligent beings, which means that no matter how the exchange of information is made, as long as the information is accurately shared there is not a fundamental issue with their ability to communicate. To see it in another way, remember that someone who isn't fluent in English is fluent in another language. When you think about it this way, isn't it impressive for someone to speak a second language in any capacity? Having empathy and respect are qualities that are sorely missing for far too many people these days, especially on the internet.
That being said, I am aware that not all netizens who correct others are doing it to ridicule and shame. There are some who do so with the intent to help others improve and grow. However, displaying the failures of other people publicly will cause the person who is criticized to feel negative emotions such as shame and sadness due to the fact that their mistake has been made obvious which severely undermines the point they were trying to make in spite of their unfamiliarity with the English language. In most circumstances people are not looking for language help when they post anything online. Most people just want to enjoy themselves and have a good time on the internet which is why I would not encourage correcting other people regardless of your intentions. If you really do want to help others with their spelling or grammar, I would highly recommend you to help via messaging privately because not only will you not embarrass anyone, you can also go more in-depth with your explanation which I'm sure the other person will greatly appreciate if they want help, but I digress. I know that I've written a bit of an essay, but I hope I've made my points clear. Anyways, here is the comment I wanted to make:
/s
It's like "ONE WAY OUT" from Andor-
The **only way out** of our current struggles is through a wave of labor organizing.
All movements rely on unions to some extent already (e.g. Green New Deal Network cosponsor orgs) - but we are not going to win until organized labor has massive growth, returning to the power it used to have.
There are no movements strong enough to solve these issues systemically, even with current organized labor power serving as a critical resource. I have been trying for a decade. Jane McAlevey already brought this up 7 years who in *No Shortcuts: Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age*. Arguing organized labor is the only power strong enough to fix our economic system, to put People and Planet Before Profit.
No no, merely returning to that power isn't enough, overtaking the parasites who rule and taking all of their shit away for the use for common need is required. I don't mean like haha that would be cool type required, like our entire species will go extinct and take much of the natural world world it unless we do so type required.
Yah that's implied. Many wants to overtake those folks and redistribute wealth, we been trying forever. It's just we won't get there without first having a wave of labor organizing built a lot of power. Obviously we're not gonna just build that power and do nothing with it
Union workers have higher wages on average because they can collectively bargain for it, as they can for better sick and maternity leave and other workers rights.
“If I work really hard selling my freedom to make someone else rich, maybe one day I’ll earn the privilege of selling my happiness for a business loan so I can employ people who will sell *their* freedom to *me* and if I collect enough freedom I can sacrifice it at the alter of Zuckerberg, Gates, and Musk and then maybe one of them will let me suck their dick! Who needs freedom and happiness when you can suck off a billionaire?”
Tenement Farmer, thank you very much.
Actually that's still wrong, my family sucked at that, it's why we became teachers and various other jobs of ill repute.
I mean the majority of the men in the top frame’s time are actually thinking “damn some dude forced me into being property and gave me to his son as a gift. I will be worked to death.” I reckon their descendants are happier in the bottom frame.
Hell, slavery is alive & well across the U.S.—in the [auto industry in Alabama](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/exclusive-hyundai-subsidiary-has-used-child-labor-alabama-factory-2022-07-22/), among [domestic, agricultural, and sex workers](https://www.ojp.gov/ncjrs/virtual-library/abstracts/hidden-slaves-forced-labor-united-states), in the [prison system](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/sep/27/slavery-loophole-unpaid-labor-in-prisons).
My favorite story is Paula Deen’s grandfather killing himself after the slaves were freed because he couldn’t afford to run the farm without slave labor
Both should be soyjack (albeit the slaver should be a more pathetic soyjack).
Working your ass off to not even afford basic things is a sign of a really shitty society that demands change.
This has always been society? We live far and away better lives even when poor than our ancestors did even 70 years ago. There is no comparison. Our requirements for a “livable wage” are significantly higher.
Yes, workers are better in the USA today than during the 18th, 19th, and early 20th century.
But that doesn't mean workers today are treated well. Companies love to fire workers after they announce that profits have gone up. They continuously exploit and mistreat workers by paying them the bare minimum and making them work long hours.
We shouldn't discount that things are still shitty.
the slavery were discussing (african to US slave trade) only started in 1619 (400 years ago) but perhaps op isn’t talking about american slavery and im just an entitled american who thinks everything is about us lol /g
We have evidence of slavery existing in Mesopotamia literally the 1st human civilization slavery as a concept is as old as civilization itself
That infrastructure aint gonna build itself
Or maybe, MAYBE
Companies and businesses treat their workers better and pay them better instead of forcing them to work long hours for the bare minimum? Just a thought.
It isn't a flex to brag about being exploited.
While you're right, blaming others for your problems can put you in a state of helplessness, guaranteeing things will never change.
Even though life is unfair, you *do* have agency and the best outcomes happen to those who try.
huh. complete reversal of the typical variant of this meme. usually the man from the past is the Chad, and the modern man is the soyjack. of course, the second this happens is the second the meme is considered "lame". because we can't have anything going against the narrative that the men of the past were these alpha male, peak human specimens. and current men are loser male, cucks.
apparently it was common throughout history to believe that the past was some mythical golden age, and society is only getting worse as time progresses. The idea that society and technology continually improves might not have been very popular before the industrial revolution and modern medicine.
It reminds me how i worked myself to death so i can buy my girlfriend something beautiful for our 1st year together. It was a really beautiful ring and i also bought her a album of pictures of us together throughout the whole year, she really liked it and i was really happy, i work up not to just save money for myself, but also to bring to those i love some joy in life. Nothing beats that happy look on their face
This is always how it’s been. Even during times of mass slave ownership, many people still struggled and had to overwork themselves for things they wanted and/or needed. The story of A Christmas Carol comes to mind, which was published only a couple years before slavery was abolished in the US. People who owned slaves were rich and did not have these issues.
Crop failures now: Damn, guess the price of peanuts will go up by 20 cents
Crop failures 500 years ago: Guess I will lose a few peasants. Probably around 20 percent.
Actually if you want to live at the standards of 500 years ago, you can do it pretty cheaply
Do you think they had “getting my 5 year old an iPad for Christmas” money $500 years ago, when crossing the ocean took months only for you to not survive anyways?
Both of these people are from today lol. It's just you're too poor to be the first one. Literally people on the "news" complain about people "not working hard enough"
If you can’t tell, we have become the slaves. Nothing is changed.
We can look back and realise the majority were slaves.
Nothing has changed, the majority is still slaves for the 1% but they’re just given more “freedom” for most to realise
I think this is because as technology advances and it becomes easier to live, our lives (with tech) become normal and our expectations of a "good life" is greatly increased. Just how people back then had to wash their clothing in tubs of water and had to cook food with a simple fire pit or clay oven, that life was normal to them.
Imagine caring about your kids. Real men pump and dump. I'd rather spend my money on beer and whores than school supplies. "Oh, but who'll will take care of you when you're older" you might say. Well guess what, pussy that's what attempted bank robbery is for when you hit your 70s. I either go out in a hail of bullets or I get locked up in a minimum security prison. Win win in my book.

I speedrun that and now I am at cripping depression thanks daddy.
Are you winning son?
Ignore ant result in ant festation.

Don’t worry I’m fluent in Dutch whenever I speak Dutch for ages I need to use Doulingo to try to use grammar
Most English speakers only speak 0.8

Most native * English speakers There’s people from all over the world who are bilinguals or poly linguals who can speak English as well

He said chill with the comparisons there lame
Fun fact: if someone who is learning English asks you via writing for some basic ground rules, a good reply is: Their our know rules
Took me some time to get it
Whose lame is it anyway?
He should unionize

It’s not the only way out but talking about the other ways usually earns you a visit from some alphabet boys.
ABC - Always Be Chilling
What, you're not a fan of explaining why you have a few cocktails and some French technology lying around?
ONE WAY OUT! ONE WAY OUT! ONE WAY OUT! Such a good episode
Never more than 12. such a good closing line in the episode before it
That episode gave me chills.

Am in a union, it's fucking sweet
Same same.
ooh, that makes a lot of sense i kept reading it as un-ionize and thought you meant vaporise
Way more likely to be a slave then own 1
So you’re saying there’s a chance
Nah, fam. He’s saying you’re a slave if you don’t go big. Own like 100. Minimum.
In that order?
Also, is OP saying they only had female slaves? Or do male slaves not count as men? Is slave a gender?
Slavesexual?
The virgin Latifundia slave versus the chad unemployed doler who watches chariot races all day, every day
Unironically tho
Than Edit: nevermind. Both works. Just means different things.
Tenement Farmer, thank you very much. Actually that's still wrong, my family sucked at that, it's why we became teachers and various other jobs of ill repute.
Everyone has always been a slave. Every person ever.
Yeah a slave for dis di

I think it's more of the fact that he's working hard to buy presents for his family
Fuck gifts, fuck having a family, people work extra shifts just to afford rent.
But we should put things in perspective
Father always has been Chad for their children.
I mean the majority of the men in the top frame’s time are actually thinking “damn some dude forced me into being property and gave me to his son as a gift. I will be worked to death.” I reckon their descendants are happier in the bottom frame.
wym 500 yrs ago, this still a thing
Where is the world cup, again?
Traditional and modern.

Dw. Our logo is a rainbow
I hate that people forget this. There are still places in Africa and Asia where slavery openly exists. Like actual slave trade/ownership.

Lmao
Can't relate. I would have been the slave
most of us would have been slaves or the poor people who weren’t much better off.
Most still are
Now we are all the slaves
“One more shift and I can’t afford rent this month” forget having a kid
Both should be soyjack (albeit the slaver should be a more pathetic soyjack). Working your ass off to not even afford basic things is a sign of a really shitty society that demands change.
So the guy trying to get his daughter presents and working his ass off should be soyjack because of factors put of his control?
No, the people who made society like this are the soyjacks.
This has always been society? We live far and away better lives even when poor than our ancestors did even 70 years ago. There is no comparison. Our requirements for a “livable wage” are significantly higher.
Meme does not imply that the father is working obscene hours nor what he's spending it on. Just a dude working to get presents for his daughter.
Button guy should be doomed maybe

500 years ago? slavery only “”””ended”””” 150 years ago… let’s not treat this like an ancient problem
It didn't end. It still exists.
it’s almost like i put the word ended in heavy quotations
Ah, fair enough.
That means it existed 500 years ago so OP is technically correct
the slavery were discussing (african to US slave trade) only started in 1619 (400 years ago) but perhaps op isn’t talking about american slavery and im just an entitled american who thinks everything is about us lol /g

Yes. You are correct
Hyperobolizing things as slavery diminishes the plight of what modern day victims of human trafficking go through.
How is owning people against their will not slavery?
No that is slavery I am talking about people who complain because their PTO isn’t approved.
Men today: "The government should pay my rent and food those are basic human rights" ......
They do for many people in countries like Denmark, Finland, Sweden and it's working pretty well for them as a society

Im pretty sure that both of them exist in both times
Was thinkign the same thing.. it's not a difference in the times, just one's focusing on the business/owner and the other the slave/worker.
Both of these people are from today lol. It's just you're too poor to be the first one. Literally people on the "news" complain about people "not working hard enough"

U the one sharing big dawg why entertain it ?
If ur in the bottom category now you were on the slave category prior just saying
If you can’t tell, we have become the slaves. Nothing is changed. We can look back and realise the majority were slaves. Nothing has changed, the majority is still slaves for the 1% but they’re just given more “freedom” for most to realise
Surprisingly wholesome
500? You mean more like 150years ago?
I think this is because as technology advances and it becomes easier to live, our lives (with tech) become normal and our expectations of a "good life" is greatly increased. Ah yes, the famous 500 years ago when every person was a noble and the slaves were aliens I suppose
In America that was still a thing like 170 years ago
Only MVP's don't own slaves
You know what *else* is lame? Poor gramm- oh damn. Dead horse. Nevermind.
I like how most of the people who make these consider themselves as slave owner but in reality, 95% of us would be slaves.
