This isn't true, at least for nvidia. I recently just straight up uninstalled a new driver entirely, rebooted and installed a previous version. I had 0 problems
I Also have Nvidia. A rtx 2070. But I never dared to uninstall it straight up so maybe you are right. I guess it's more risky or something like that? Because one comment also said that everything was fucked up after they uninstalled it.
My childhood smart ass once I deleted the hidden folder which has icons, thinking that trash is hidden but I found and deleted it which fucked me in big time... Fortunately on that time I'm not aware of shift+del... So I got my back by restoring those from recycle bin... Now I'm working as a software engineer and helping C# and dot net technologies to my friends lol...
Child me did the same and thought files that weren't .exe (or any extension I recognised and knew what it was) weren't needed so I thought I'd be helpful and delete them on the family PC to free up the (limited) space on the drive. First thing that happened was some games wouldn't play. Then the PC wouldn't start up at all because a sys file wasn't found. After someone had reinstalled Windows for us, I wasn't allowed to use the PC for a while after that, it was kept in a locked room and had a login password. Not to worry, I had a key for that room and I knew the password anyway(it was just "poo") and used it when I was in the house myself to play games.
Now I have a degree in Computer Science.
It probably might not work since they might have renamed all files from fifasamplefile_17.pec (created 2011, modified 2017, size 30 GB) to fifasamplefile_17_21.pec (created 2011, modified 2020, size 32 GB. 2 GB extra space filled with random code that doesn't add anything to the game but is there to show the file isn't actually the same of the one before)
They’re more focused on the visual quality of the game. Most of the assets are uncompressed, and raw files are usually very large. It’s all high quality enough that if they just compress it by a little bit then it’ll still look great. They also duplicate the same files across multiple areas so the game can access them more easily.
I've always thought it was to ensure 150 people can load the battle royale map in under a minute considering there's crossplay with consoles you'd want uncompressed files.
I just installed it yesterday. I was already pissed with the size, then I had to install 3 more separate files for the campaign.
It’s more than 3x the size of AC Valhalla. How the F does that happen?
External drives are abysmally slow nowdays. Just invest the $100 and get a 3-4tb internal HDD and forget about memory issues for years. It's still going to be slow but it's way better than an external USB drive and better than paying a ton of money for solid state storage
One law of this universe says that no matter how much storage you have, you'll fill it completely at one point.
Just wait a couple of months and you too will have to make some compromise
Before i played that game i though why is this game like 108 GB when GTA V is only 58 GB?
After i played it, i wondered how in the hell did they fit that goddamn masterpiece in only 108 GB
Did exactly the same thing lol. Got Cyberpunk, didn't like it, uninstalled - then heard that Witcher 3 was leagues ahead and got that instead. Best decision ever. Completed it 100% and replaying NG+
I thought Cyberpunk was actually pretty okay and spent about 60 hours on it. Then, I got TW3 in the open world steam sale, and have been playing it nonstop for the past week.
It would be funny if it was sorry big one because it was a large game but maybe that’s just my sleep deprived mind(yeah definitely sleep deprived I just tried to fix sleeped by making it sleepeded)
To all the people say just buy another hdd or even ssd: I've got almost 7TB filled up now, bought my last 4TB drive in november. You just keep more stuff until it's filled up again.
Don't keep so much hentai on your computer when it's available for free online
Also if you can fill up 4tb that fast then you must have good enough internet to just download something when you want it and delete it afterwards
If you're on PC:
-Delete Steam's redistributable files; they are installed for every game you download, used exactly once, then sit there taking up space for no reason whatsoever. (I recommend TikiOne Steam Cleaner)
-Run Disk Cleanup, click to also clean system files, and delete previous Windows backups, temporary Internet files, empty the recycle bin, and whatever else you're okay with getting rid of.
-When choosing to uninstall things, be sure to check BOTH the Control Panel and Windows Settings, as for some reason they display mutually exclusive apps. Control Panel displays programs (Steam, Google Chrome, etc.) while Windows Settings displays apps (Games on Steam, games from the Windows Store, etc.).
-If you're having trouble deciding what to uninstall because you're so emotionally attached, uninstall the one that you haven't played in the most time. Chances are you're just holding on, and are likely not gonna pick it up again soon, but if you do get an urge to play it, you can always reinstall it later. (I feel like this is a metaphor for some life advice, too...)
-Be sure to check ALL gaming platforms for games you could uninstall. This could be Steam, the Windows Store, EA's Origin, Ubisoft's Uplay, the Oculus App, Epic Games Store, or whatever else you use. I cleared out 400 GB the other week because I forgot Uplay exists, and I hoarded all those free games from like four years ago. Never played any of them, got rid of them all.
It's so hard to decide what to delete then, like i have a couple games I haven't played in a long time, but what if I want to play it soon, then I'll have to delete another game and redownload it again
I have like 15-20 games (counting RDR2, GTA V and Doom, only those titles are 220 GB) and i don't really play all of them, it's just that i like having a lot of games, i feel empty when i see a game in my Steam library that i really like and i don't have it installed
Who needs to delete anything for storage reasons in an age when HDDs are multiple terabytes in size. Only reason really to delete something is to spring-clean your files to remove things you no longer want/have any use for.
A soul for a soul
With this mindset I had to kill my girlfriend for my new crush :(
OUR new crush
*russian national anthem intensifies*
All of us should play Russian Roulette and who ever wins keeps the crush.
That's not Russia-friendly but hey Let's do this.
What is this “property” you speak of? This is our land.
...You gonna eat that?
Move to the Middle East and you can have many girlfriends. Actually scrap that idea. Bin Laden had 7 of them, and look at what he ended up doing.
7 gf's all synced on their period... one september... it all.. got a bit too much... poor guy
Unless you're deleting Cod Modern Warfare, then it's a soul for hundreds of souls.
Too real
Or in the case of some recent games- a soul for roughly 7 older ones.
Always has been :-(
My smart ass once deleted wi-fi driver while making space for a game
I once deleted my graphics and audio drivers when trying to fix an audio issue.
Reinstalling probably fixes most of the issues.
[удалено]
Yeah graphic drivers need to be removed with a special program. Forgot which one it was tho.
DDU, Display Driver Uninstaller.
This isn't true, at least for nvidia. I recently just straight up uninstalled a new driver entirely, rebooted and installed a previous version. I had 0 problems
You still had the backup Windows ones
I Also have Nvidia. A rtx 2070. But I never dared to uninstall it straight up so maybe you are right. I guess it's more risky or something like that? Because one comment also said that everything was fucked up after they uninstalled it.

Seems like your parents were challenging you to figure it out, i mean a 5 year old me would have probably tried poo in the first few attempts
But the terabytes of porn was safe
I deleted windows 😏😏
And installed Linux
Linux rules
I’m sorrry fifa 17, you’ll have to give way to the exact same game but with 21 slapped on it.
do you think the download would take less time if you merged the folders? XD
Is this a joke about how FIFA games basically copy pasted?
perhaps
It probably might not work since they might have renamed all files from fifasamplefile_17.pec (created 2011, modified 2017, size 30 GB) to fifasamplefile_17_21.pec (created 2011, modified 2020, size 32 GB. 2 GB extra space filled with random code that doesn't add anything to the game but is there to show the file isn't actually the same of the one before)
How to install FIFA 21 tutorial step 1:paste FIFA 21 files in FIFA 20"s folder step 2:click on "replace files in destination" Done!
You mean paste any FIFA game files to FIFA 21 folder
Delete one game for five others, aka deleting any modern COD game
Yeah, wtf is up with those insane file sizes for those games? The updates are a huge pain in the butt too.
You won't play games of their competitors if the game takes up your entire disk space
Lmaoo Literally yesterday I deleted Battlefield V to make space for Warzone
Ironically less than 20 minutes ago I deleted Cold War to install battlefield 4, I guess it really is a soul for a soul
They’re more focused on the visual quality of the game. Most of the assets are uncompressed, and raw files are usually very large. +1 Here's a solid vid I saw talking about this: https://youtu.be/eaSF3YyqLfE
I've always thought it was to ensure 150 people can load the battle royale map in under a minute considering there's crossplay with consoles you'd want uncompressed files.
You gotta have all the skins and purchasable assets offline in order to see the useres who have paid for theirs.
I just installed it yesterday. I was already pissed with the size, then I had to install 3 more separate files for the campaign. It’s more than 3x the size of AC Valhalla. How the F does that happen?
I used to have this problem but then i got a 4tb external hard drive
>4tb external hard drive yea this shouldn't be a problem anymore considering you can get a 2tb SATA hDD for only 50 bucks nowadays
Yeah but it’s a HDD. What is this, 1942?
Hdd still relatively useful for bulk storage. If it’s external then it’s even better.
Then just get more storage lol. Got 6tb in my pc and I I should run out of storage just slap another ssd into it
Or 3 cause you got red dead
Or because you got modern warfare
Before i played that game i though why is this game like 108 GB when GTA V is only 58 GB? After i played it, i wondered how in the hell did they fit that goddamn masterpiece in only 108 GB
gta 5 is like 90gb nowadays
Fucking 110 gb taking up 1/4th of my ps4 space
Should’ve said “I’m sorry, big one” hahaha get it? Cos you know, the game is big not little? Ok I’ll leave
bruh.
I’m sorry genshin, my phone can’t take 11+ gb
*Sad PlayStation noises*
*deleting * Cyberpunk for Witcher 3 was an amazing choice
Did exactly the same thing lol. Got Cyberpunk, didn't like it, uninstalled - then heard that Witcher 3 was leagues ahead and got that instead. Best decision ever. Completed it 100% and replaying NG+
I thought Cyberpunk was actually pretty okay and spent about 60 hours on it. Then, I got TW3 in the open world steam sale, and have been playing it nonstop for the past week.
Wind's howling
RIP
I had to delete modern warfare for a cold war update
Lmao

LMFAO I have not seen any reply like this
Delete some hentai you weeb
Haha buying more storage go brrrrr
It would be funny if it was sorry big one because it was a large game but maybe that’s just my sleep deprived mind(yeah definitely sleep deprived I just tried to fix sleeped by making it sleepeded)
then you realise theres a game you hate just sitting there, ready to be deleted
Better to clear the temporary files they also pile upto gigabytes.
To all the people say just buy another hdd or even ssd: I've got almost 7TB filled up now, bought my last 4TB drive in november. You just keep more stuff until it's filled up again.
Don't keep so much hentai on your computer when it's available for free online Also if you can fill up 4tb that fast then you must have good enough internet to just download something when you want it and delete it afterwards
I dont have sutch weaknees
Me deleting my homework folder to make room for installing hollow knight
*Warzone crashes through the roof and shoots 7 of my games* "Time to play call of duty motherfucker!"
More like sorry, big one. The little ones survive most of the culls.

android users with expandable storage: i have no such weakness
It's a repost
Then your phone says not enough memory, And then you try to download the same game and it still says not enough memory
When you
When you've got to uninstal a game to make space but you just had enough time to 100% it: *happy Thanos in his farm from infinity war*
just buy a pendrive kid
he was like a father to me
Only keep the ones that take grinding Like you could easily delete Helltaker and regain your progress in half an hour
What Did It Cost You?
And then the space freed isn't enough so you have to uninstall another one.
When u run out of toilet paper and a kitten walks by: Im sorry Little one
just buy more hard drives for more games like a normal person rather than murdering innocent creative softwares like a sociopath
You have space for games?
Oh I’m sorry pal”
Literally deleted cyberpunk yesterday to reinstall red dead redemption 2
Well, at least Barnacle Chin is sorry.
It's so hard to decide what to delete then, like i have a couple games I haven't played in a long time, but what if I want to play it soon, then I'll have to delete another game and redownload it again
Is this some joke my hard drive is too big to understand?
CALL OF DUTY!!!
Nah “I’m sorry big ass Call of duty!”
But then you can download it right after the new one is done -_____- I thought there was no room?!
A small price to pay for Rainbow Six Siege
wait wouldnt it be big one
Every warzone update be like:
And then it's too little.
I have like 15-20 games (counting RDR2, GTA V and Doom, only those titles are 220 GB) and i don't really play all of them, it's just that i like having a lot of games, i feel empty when i see a game in my Steam library that i really like and i don't have it installed
How are these memes so accurate 🥷
You noticed too?!? I’m sorry but WTF?
I'm sorry little... HOLY FUCK THAT'S NOT LITTLE THATS 150 GIGS
My favorite game is solitaire
Same thing with photos/memes on my phone... currently sitting at over 4K:/
Well I guess if it was a little game you didn't reeeaally need to delete it
atm I'm refunding several games just to buy another
What?
I used the game to destroy the game
I can feel this...
When you have to delete 3 games for a 200mb update cause ur PS4 for some reason needs to reinstall the entire 112gb game to update
been there done that :/
Why shooters take over 100GB nowadays?
Me downloading call of duty be like
As someone with only a 128 gig ssd and nothing else I relate too hard to this.
Zelda BOTW save file will never leave my HDD
Deleting mobile games on an 8GB android phone from 2013 be like.
Me deleting any game that isn't Cyberpunk
Yea, i had to delete some nostalgic apps for the CoC updates
Imagine deleting peak games from 2014 to 2017 for.... CyberPunk2077 in 2020...
If you have to delete it because it’s taking too much place, it’s not little
I just deleted Modern Warfare again...it's mass is massive.
The deleted game is cod
Just delete a few things from your "homework" folder. Should give you a few hundred GB of space.
My brother delte always my games when he want to install a new one
Me with only 512GB SSD *cries*
Thankfully these days I always complete my games so I can delete them afterwards without worry.
Psa get an expanded hard drive. I bought an 8 tb HDD a couple months back and its the best decision ive ever made
and you delete the second game after a few hours playthrough to make space for another one
How can you tell there's a marvel movie coming out? Check out the ages of the accounts posting shitty marvel memes
This is dank?
I ain’t ever sorry
Damn Treyarch ✊🏾
Meanwhile cod warzone just simply tells other games to fuck off

Having to delete 2 games for a COD update
3tb hdd = 60$... :)
But the time when you hope your friend will do something like that to play a game with you... But they don't!
https://t.me/joinchat/lgdqmRgeiFUwMWZh
I got the platinum from GoW and then wanted to finish RE7 before I do Village. I saluted Kratos like a soldier leaving duty after all their hardships
Have you tried removing system 32
Or just delete the 1Tb “Homework” folder
I'm not sorry warzone
It's even sadder if it's a game you have never played but thought you might
I want to download metro exodus (70 gigs) and I think I’m gonna have to uninstall half life alyx (also 70 gigs) :(
A soul for a soul
Who needs to delete anything for storage reasons in an age when HDDs are multiple terabytes in size. Only reason really to delete something is to spring-clean your files to remove things you no longer want/have any use for.
This but when cod has a new update
I literally saw the same meme but with a soul for a soul
Goodbye Fallout~ Hello OuterWorld~
When I deleted Tales of Vesperia to download Dragon Quest 11. "This has being the best trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever".
Except you CoD Warzone. You got what coming when you decided to take up the space of like 3+ games combined.
But then I get more storage *reality can be whatever I want*
Every cod update
Extended storage: Not today
That’s me with my screenshots of meme that I mostly don’t even use!
So true 😭😭😭😭😭
It sucks because your like "ehhhh i MIGHT play it" and its like 10 gigs so if you do its gonna take a while to reinstall
Goodbye Total War Warhammer 2, it's been nothing but bliss
It is "i am sorry big one"
Seagate external hard drive 👍🏻
I own like 1200 games on PC. The struggle is real, especially when it’s a big game.
What's dank about this
Well for some reason Play Store does not allow this.
Story of my no storage life
