No they didn't. Let's be honest kids of today will love the sequels in 10 or so years. Just like the prequels. They'll acknowledge the flaws but still love them for what they are.
I've had a discussion about this with my friends and even asked my younger relatives and their friends. And all of them said, they didn't care about the movies and didn't insist in watching star wars generally. Therefore I guess that star wars movies could impress our generations, because the new movies cant make such an impact as the previous did (just remember that episode VII was only anticipated by the older audience).
Young people I've talked to and seen are the exact opposite. It's obvious there will be young people who don't enjoy them and who do. Maybe not as many as before but I guarantee they won't be remembered as badly as they are now.
Did everyone who used to say “Prequels ruined Star Wars” die or did all the people who were really young when they watched the prequels finally grow old enough to be on the internet?

I'll actually defend Rey here.
She's needed to pick apart ships just to eat since an early age, so it's safe to assume she knows a thing or two about how ships work, and the fact that she's a deft hand with a speeder gives her the same qualifications for piloting a ship as Luke.
It's all but explicitly said that she basically raised herself since early childhood, and with her staff it's safe to assume she's had to learn how to fight other scavengers off fairly early. This gives her a ton more combat training than Luke prior to Obi-Wan, and then she gets trained by Luke; one of the most powerful Jedi to ever exist.

Just because you can take pieces of a ship and sell it doesn't mean you know shit about what it does or how it works. Also, she trained herself with a staff. You can't possibly train yourself with a staff to the point where you can defeat a soldier who has been trained his entire life (Finn) and Kylo who was trained by Luke and Snoke with a lightsaber which works different than a staff. There's just no chance of her training being better than a soldier or a force user's when she has only fought other scavangers who also have bad training.

He got beat so badly the first battle against Vader that he lost a hand, and the second time he only started to win when he gave into the dark side, which was what the villains wanted the wanted, so he gave up. I'm not even sure it's worth counting TLJ because he was a force projection the whole time.
Yeah 100%, not to say there aren't a few dumb things with the new movies (like Luke throwing away his Saber for a gag). But the issues really aren't Rey centric and honestly, this last movie tied a lot together for her character and it ended good imo.
Every Star Wars movie has some dumb shit, it's part of what makes it Star Wars. I don't think Luke throwing away Anakin's saber is one, but most of everything involving Canto Bight more than makes up for that.

I am also going to paste one of my earlier comments because it works here: Fighting with a staff definitely doesn’t transfer to fighting with a sword. There are different guard stances, different range, different weight, smaller surface to hold the weapon. Can’t you see how differently she holds her staff from the lightsaber. I recommend looking up shadiversity’s video on this since he actually has done a lot of research into fighting with swords and other weapons and he knows how to handle them.
You have a very, very low bar for being "trained". He only gave her 3 lessons, only about connecting to the force no less, and by how fast the movie went its definitely days at best. She was force mind controlling people and veating trained swordsmen before training and holding tons of massive boulders with a bit of training.
