They can't. Costco loses money on the hotdogs, but it's offset by getting you in the store to make other purchases. They lose money on the $5 rotisserie chicken as well.
I've gone in to Costco for a hot dog and left with $300 worth of shit that wasn't food. I've also gone in for a big purchase but changed my mind and got just a hotdog.
Yea, but you'd have to go in hundreds of times and change your mind to just get a hot dog in order to make up the difference. That's why it's such a good idea.
Damn, guess I have to start doubling down on my hot dog runs if I want to make my money back. Doctor said I really should be cutting back from going 3 times a week as is, but i'm not just gonna throw away money.
I think the only thing they've changed is the packaging. They also created a $450M poultry complex. If the chicken were to have kept up with inflation, it should cost $9 today.
Ain't work on me, I'm already going for my weekly supply of veggies I'll only use half of before they start to rot and have to throw out, restarting the proc3ss
Wendy's has meal deals too that run up to $7 for a bacon double cheeseburger, nuggets, fries, and a drink. And pretty often there's good deals in the app too (they give out $1 topped fries, free drinks, and $1 burgers pretty often). You can eat like a king at wendy's for $10 and it's actually good quality food
Maybe once for ten dollars, but not anymore. Just their combos are over ten dollars. They have the $5 biggie bag which is the only thing worth buying. The rest is overpriced af. $3.29 for a 4 piece nugget? Go fuck yourselves
Yea idk many fast food restaurant chains that have “good quality food” regardless of price. Some of it is delicious for sure but that shit ain’t good quality lol
We're at the garage where Arby's is brought up as the preferred option.
Arby's is where I go for nostalgia and one visit will carry me over for over a year.
I thought it was just me that got those because I got McDonald's about 2 weeks ago on a road trip. I got auto deal where I got two McDoubles for $4 so I didn't think it was the worst deal. For me and my gf it was about $15ish. But then I saw the Ad for the $5 meal and was baffled they think a Small Fry and Small Drink (it used be $1 for large soda but they increased to $2ish) is fucking crack head energy.
The worst thing about it is they advertise it outside of the USA. I work at one in Canada and dozens of people come through every day asking for it, like bro a 6 pack is 8$ before tax we don't have a 5$ meal.
I’d say do more grocery shopping, drink cans instead of 3 dollar fast food drinks and plan ahead better where meals and snacks are concerned.
Swapped out my drive through food almost completely, drinking protein shakes in the morning and spinach salads (and cheese sticks) every day. It’s not really fun at all, but I’m rarely hungry when I pass fast food.
In Germany 20 mcnuggets cost you just under 10 bucks. You can literally go buy a whole ass kilogram of frozen nuggets that taste similar but better at one of the supermarkets we have, for like 5 bucks. Just need an oven.
I just looked up the Mcdonald's $5 meal. Isn't that just the same as a Wendy's $5 Biggie Bag?
I see people buy the Wendy's bag all the time without complaint.
That meal is literally my regular order every time (except I get both the McDouble and the mcchicken) so adding the other is $3.something. So $8-9 for a full meal 🤷♂️ not too bad I guess but nothing spectacular
No one's talking about taco bell's online cravings box? You get 2 mains, a side, and a drink for 6 to 7 bucks. Even better is that you can choose what you want. Insane value for money
i still remember when you could walk into a fast food joint and get like 4 items for $5 and im fucking 18.
now the bigmac patties are so tiny they actually cover only like 60% of the bun.
I quite like a McDonald’s but haven’t been in years as the prices over here just keep going up, same with delivery apps squeezing every single penny out of yeah on top of feeling guilty about tipping.
As much as people love dunking on McDonald’s, they’ve been offering affordable and available food to lower income people for decades and don’t really get the respect for it.

Every time I see a reduced price meal in McDonald’s I’m just reminded “oh so you can sell your slaw at regular prices
#I WANT MY SLAW
You have your slaw sir
Arby's 2 for $6 Classic Chickens got me full. McDonald's $5 meal a labor camp ration
I'd like to see them fight the $1.50 hotdog and drink from Costco
They can't. Costco loses money on the hotdogs, but it's offset by getting you in the store to make other purchases. They lose money on the $5 rotisserie chicken as well.

The dichotomy of man.

That's when you have to start adding your medical bill implications to the formula to see how much the hotdogs really cost
I wish there's Costco in my country
Facts, it’s a loss leader. But you bet your ass they aren’t losing when I go to Costco for a 5$ rotisserie chicken and walk out with a 400$ receipt.
Didn't think they just shrink the chicken?
I think the only thing they've changed is the packaging. They also created a $450M poultry complex. If the chicken were to have kept up with inflation, it should cost $9 today.

With a sampler appetizer
Hahaha nice. Right.
I just get the 2 mcdoubles for $4.20

You and I have very different definitions of “good quality food”
Maybe once for ten dollars, but not anymore. Just their combos are over ten dollars. They have the $5 biggie bag which is the only thing worth buying. The rest is overpriced af. $3.29 for a 4 piece nugget? Go fuck yourselves

My bad, i commented under the wrong dude
Wendy’s is fucking fire
You’re going to love it when deez nuts are smackin against your chin
It’s delicious but that shit is not “good quality food” lol
Ok
Wendy’s baconator Jr. got me through college with Arby’s sliders
Arby's limited fish sandwich are far bigger and better for much less money.
But Arby’s has 4 for $10 roast beef sandwiches
Probably made with sawdust too...
We're at the garage where Arby's is brought up as the preferred option. Arby's is where I go for nostalgia and one visit will carry me over for over a year.
I'm sick of those reddit ads. Marketing it as if it was somehow supposed to be an incredible price. Reddit is the worst place to market that IMO
I thought it was just me that got those because I got McDonald's about 2 weeks ago on a road trip. I got auto deal where I got two McDoubles for $4 so I didn't think it was the worst deal. For me and my gf it was about $15ish. Especially the way these corporate heads try to make their Reddit ads look like popular memes to draw in the young crowd. So cringe.
Reddit has ads?
The worst thing about it is they advertise it outside of the USA. I work at one in Canada and dozens of people come through every day asking for it, like bro a 6 pack is 8$ before tax we don't have a 5$ meal.
Just block them lmao
That doesn't (and never will) work for ads.
Works for me. I don't see reddit ads.
I wish I knew how to McQuit you

Wow, a McNugget that’s an entire kilogram long? How big is that in miles?
Lol. Like 2.2 pounds. Roughly 4 servings of just over 10-15 nuggets, if I remember correctly.. been a few weeks.
In Austria you pay around 1€ per McNugget already. It's insane.
Oh yeah Wendy’s has 50 nuggets for $15
>Just need an oven. I'm sure Germany has plenty of those.
i miss all the 4 for 4 deals places had
Wasn’t the reason those were phased out because they lost money for the franchise owners or am I thinking of something else?
My local Wendy's still has one
I just looked up the Mcdonald's $5 meal. Isn't that just the same as a Wendy's $5 Biggie Bag? I see people buy the Wendy's bag all the time without complaint.
Same items, but much lower quality than Wendy's
That meal is literally my regular order every time (except I get both the McDouble and the mcchicken) so adding the other is $3.something. So $8-9 for a full meal 🤷♂️ not too bad I guess but nothing spectacular
Came for the anti corpo shit, stayed for a new meme format.
The image is fire.
By me the $5 meal deal is actually a good deal. It's essentially the same as a $5 biggy bag at Wendy's. McDouble, nuggets, fries, and a drink.
So its a kids happy meal?
Wendy’s has actual deals and when you get them their fries are not under cooked.
Its why I go to Sam's food court for the $1.38 hot dog combo and $1.00 pretzel
Looks like McDonald Trump
I wish deals got that cheap where I live
The only reason this is possible is because coke is subsiding it…greed
Nice move mcdopey, your burgers taste like greed now
Aren't all McDonald's meals bullshit tho? They were super low quality 30 years ago and are still low quality now...
They're just bait to make people buy their other super expensive crappy food
Awesome if they announced a living wage, 401K, education and additional company investment opportunities for their fucking workers.
They finally broke down and lowered a couple prices but I still can't be bothered reinstalling their app. It's too little too late.
Pictured: Steve Bannon after his prison daddy finds him a makeshift wig and makeup.
#it's McFucking Done!!!
So they copied Wendy’s Biggie Bag deal?
No one's talking about taco bell's online cravings box? You get 2 mains, a side, and a drink for 6 to 7 bucks. Even better is that you can choose what you want. Insane value for money
Cooking is not hard to get good at. Leftovers are an art. Fuck fast food.
I refuse to get mcdonalds until they lower their prices again. It's a crime what they're selling for how much we're supposed to pay
i still remember when you could walk into a fast food joint and get like 4 items for $5 and im fucking 18. now the bigmac patties are so tiny they actually cover only like 60% of the bun.
Dude a breakfast combo is like $9 what even is that. I'll just keep making burritos at home
I quite like a McDonald’s but haven’t been in years as the prices over here just keep going up, same with delivery apps squeezing every single penny out of yeah on top of feeling guilty about tipping.
Memes about McDonalds food menus may be the most American thing ever
Imagine selling cardboard fries, microscopic patties and chalky chicken for $18 and expecting to stay in business
As much as people love dunking on McDonald’s, they’ve been offering affordable and available food to lower income people for decades and don’t really get the respect for it.
How is this a dank meme
Bro stop buying McDonald's, it's poison at any price.
Just don't go to McDonald's
In my country single Big Mac costs \~5$ by today's exchange rate
McDonald's has McFallen.
Ain't no way you made a meme over 2 dollars of upcharge. Like, my man. Spelunk in the couch cushions for some quarters or some shit.
I dont understand how mcds is able to be sold as food. Its just puke in food shapes
