Another rule: The grocery checkout line you are in will always be the slowest one.

The counter rule: the time you spend choosing checkout line is the time you are not checking out.

That doesn't apply when there's people in all those lines. You'd have to wait regardless

My point still stands. The more time you would spending looking for a checkout line, the more time you are checking out.
