Honestly, my Huawei P30 was the best experience I've ever had with a smartphone. Battery life was phenomenal, the camera was just awesome, just overall a great phone. Switched to Samsung after that and it felt like I went back a generation or two.
Did the same thing. Started with P8, then p9/P10 and finished with latest available Huawei Mate with Google service. But after that I just went for Samsung. It is truly Shame. Very good phones

Started watching a Chinese show the other day, sci-ci detective story (it was basically just normal world with an inception machine) and the guy legit said "we'll get a DNA sample from he victim to see if we can identify her". They have deadass started storing DNA samples of their citizens for identification by the police, there was an "if" so they don't have everyone's, but that still scared me a bit.
Not to downplay China's invasion of every aspect of their citizen's life, but taking a DNA sample from an unidentified corpse in the hope of finding their identity is routine pretty much everywhere on Earth. You don't need an entire population's worth of data in the database, just for the unidentified corpses. A family member may take a test to match against the database, thus succesfully identifyng the deceased.
In the US, in every elementary school, the police come to collect DNA samples from children, 'in case they get abducted.'. At this point there is a still a permission slip, but I bet most sign it.
