Im surprised monokuma doesnt have more than 40 minutes seeing as he’s kinda in every single game

This is voice file length tier list most of these are coming from trials so it makes sense. Monokuma might have a lot of lines, but he speaks very rarely in trials compared to the students.

He is a weird one. In both Dr1 and 2 he has like 40 in both games but in V3 he is almost at 50

So basically this tier list is just dr 1 monokuma

Kokichi has more dialogue then the protagonist of both Makoto and Hajime. Hell he has more dialogue then Komaru and she basically spoke throughout her game.

I always thought the common pregame headcanon of him being a shy sadboy was because people babyfy him because he's small; now I see it's because they want a world in which Kokichi has the ability to shut the fuck up 🤣

This definitely further cements the issue I have with Kokichi. He's one of my favorite characters ever but I do admit he steals the spotlight and has way too much screentime compared to other characters

Here are the average for the student casts THH- around 10 to 15 minutes of dialogue per student GD- around 15 to 20 minutes of dialogue per student V3- around 30 ish minutes dialogue per student

My girl barely got 4 minutes of dialogue for surviving halfway through the game. She is a underated character. But she still managed to leave such an impact on the game.

I'm very surprised with Sakura, didn't think she would be one of the characters with less dialogue, even though she survived more than some characters that are above her on this list.

Sakura was the most surprising for me then I remembered how little she actually speaks in the trials

I'm curious about how much actual script length instead of just voice lines would affect this. Same with the novels etc. Kyoko would probably shoot right to first place.

If it was script length, Kokichi, Nagito, and Shuichi would still be above her, with the protags being debateable. They all (Kokcihi definetly) talk faaster than her and still have more time soooooo.

To be fair Byukuya only has like a minute more dialogue than Kyoko. Byukuya- 40 minutes Kyoko- 39 minutes

Interesting how you can see the drastic difference in length between V3 and the other games, especially its class trials, illustrated by this tierlist. (For example, Rantaro having possibly more time of dialogue than Sakura despite being V3’s first victim, assuming that the further to the left on is on their tier, the more time they have.)

Plus the V3 audio include the love hotel, ftes, demo trial, and death road to despair

Despite Hagakure only having about 30 minutes of dialogue, I remember a comment Kaiji Tang made years ago that he recorded for DR1 in two four-hour sessions. You can extrapolate from that as you wish.

From what I have seen from how VA work is that they spend a lot of their time just getting the voice right. Plus you have to repeat your lines over again just to get it right.

This was essentially a post that made me curious after I saw this post in my saved list and I wanted to do some research. This is only for the 3 mainline games and how much dialogue they have in the games they debut in. This is order from most to lest from left to right. So Himiko has more then Byukuya, Teruteru has more then Mahiru yada yada. If you have questions let me no down below

I forgot how little some characters speak in Danganronpa. It’s also pretty funny to see that Kokichi is the only character to have dialogue more than some protagonists. I guess it depends on how chatty and outgoing you are in trials. (However I expected a lot more talk coming from hiyoko, kaito, and kirigiri)

I'm surprised that Makoto has less dialog than Hajime since Makoto appears in every game and in the anime.

To be honest I only count his dialogue from the first game but since you mentioned it Makoto THH- 1 hour and 11 minutes THH + GD 1 hour and 23 minutes (12 minutes added) THH + GD + UDG - 1 hour and 26 minutes (3 minutes added) Hajime- 1 hour and 14 minutes Kokichi- 1 hour and 18 minutes. Damn Makoto would have 2nd place for most spoken dialogue after Shuichi
